There are photos of Deana Wild and Joe McGinnis on the rocky cliffs at Big Sur. One of the photos seems to show McGinnis in the process of throwing Wild off the cliff.
Based on the 1987 killing in Northern California of Deana Hubbard Wild by Virginia (Rearden) McGinnis (who was suspected of being a serial killer for insurance money) and her husband.
While serving a life sentence for first degree murder, Virginia Rearden McGinnis, died on June 25, 2011 at age 74.
Joe McGinnis was also arrested for murder and insurance fraud, however, he died from AIDS-related pneumonia before he could stand trial.
Virginia McGinnis' ex-husband, Richard Dick Coates, committed suicide before he could testify at the trial.
