Also made as "Death Benefit" in 1997

I enjoyed both this movie and the 1997 one. I'm guessing the 1997 one is more of a documentary since the names of the lawyer and the evil mother are the same as in the book. The 1997 is 4 hours long on TV and focuses on the quest of the lawyer to find the truth. Carrie Snodgress plays the evil mother in Death Benefit. She is portrayed as a serial killer who not only has killed young girls for insurance, but has burned 5 homes for insurance, and killed her husband. Her sons are both in prison for murder. In the 1997 version, the daughter is barely seen beyond photographs taken right before the murder. This movie begins by explaining the troubled relationship between the mother and her murdered daughter.

Liked it

I think Danica did a great job.the movie had all the talent needed to make a good movie. The actress that played George Preson's wife played that charactor to the tee.I would recommend this movie to anyone because of the talent alone was awesome.
