Cuba Gooding Jr. (The Hit List) continues his string of starring roles in straight-to-dvd action thriller films with his latest, 2013′s Absolute Deception.

When FBI Agent John Nelson’s (Gooding Jr.) key informant, Miles, is abducted and shot, all that’s left is a severed finger. In order to find a new lead, Nelson travels to New York City to learn what he can from Miles’ widow, Rebecca Scott (Emmanuelle Vaugier, Hysteria). Traveling to Australia’s Gold Coast, the two soon discover Miles may have been part of an elaborate “Ponzi scheme” to bilk investors—including a vengeful billionaire—out of millions of dollars. Mitchell Altieri
Firstly, Cult Epics has shifted its DVD of Rene Daalder’s psychochiller Hysteria (pictured), starring Patrick McGoohan and Amanda Plummer, from December to March 12, when there will also be a Blu-ray edition released. We also heard direct from the company that a making-of featurette and trailer will be included on the discs; retail prices are $24.98 for the DVD and $29.98 for the Blu-ray. Meanwhile, Paramount Home Entertainment will issue Paranormal Activity 4 January 22 in an unrated directors cut on DVD ($29.99) and Blu-ray/DVD combo ($39.99). And XLrator Media brings The Thompsons, the sequel to The Hamiltons by The Butcher Brothers (a.k.a. Phil Flores and Mitchell Altieri), in which the titular family of vampires encounters a similar brood after fleeing to England, to DVD ($14.99) and Blu-ray/DVD combo ($20.99) January 1.

Meanwhile, on the international-horror scene, Dark Sky Films has set a January 8 DVD ($24.98) and Blu-ray ($29.98) date for Jaume Balagueró’s truly disturbing Sleep Tight.

Rick Fox Goes From Taking Jump Shots to Producing Kill Shots in Hysteria Web Series
Former NBA star Rick Fox is well-known for his acting prowess. Now he's taking on a new entertainment venture. Fox is producing a web series entitled Hysteria, directed by Frank Lin, which is divided into 26 segments. The producers are releasing one piece a day until Halloween.

And just because it's a web series, don't think that they have a bunch of struggling actors and actresses in this one. Among the cast are Jd Walsh, who was featured in "Two and a Half Men"; Emmanuelle Vaugier from Saw II and Saw IV; Todd Grinnell, who's been featured in "Desperate Housewives"; Nolan Gould of "Modern Family"; and Laura Allen of "Terriers." Cheyenne Jackson heads the cast. He has Flight 93 and appearances on "Glee" and "30 Rock" to his credits. A pretty kickass cast.

We've got the first segment of the series right below. To see the rest, head over to Rick Fox TV on YouTube,...
