One-time romantic partners Carver and Violet unexpectedly became intertwined on Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 13, while Stellaride moved ahead with their plans to adopt.
This was a very dramatic installment, offering welcome insight into past and present characters.
Let’s dive in!
(Peter Gordon/NBC) A DangerZone Emergency
If you looked up the antonym for adventure, I’m pretty sure my picture would be there.
The very last things I would ever do include ziplining, rock climbing, bungee jumping, or sky diving.
In fact, if you even took me to the DangerZone, I’d sit on the sidelines and photograph all the other derring dos. That’s as adventurous as I get.
(Peter Gordon/NBC)
And if you ever wonder why I’m so risk-averse, you need look no further than the DangerZone rescue. If there’s a chance I could get my neck caught on a zipline, I’d do it.

It's the Day of Love on The Rookie in the all-new episode, "The Gala." Yet, things are on the romantic down-low concerning our favorite ships, as there has been drama between them in the previous episodes.
In the last episode, "Til Death," Bailey goes against Nolan's wishes and gets involved with her ex-husband, Jason's criminal spree. She winds up getting injured and hospitalized, which causes her husband to naturally worry. When he discovers that his wife has beenin touch with the hitman, Malvado, she hired to pursue Jason by flip phone texting, this deepens the hole.
I understand Bailey is trying to be in the know of what's going on and wants to slay her fears of Jason, but she also placed herself in front of the Danger Zone. Had she only listened to Nolan in the first place, the situation wouldn't have happened. Then again, Jason was killed, which...

In "A Complete Unknown," the great Bob Dylan is rendered as a singular force who takes the Greenwich Village folk scene by storm before becoming an international rock star. But his singularity itself isn't enough to propel him to such heights. As James Mangold's movie shows, his ascent was aided by some pretty important friends and supporters. From Edward Norton's Pete Seeger (originally set to be played by Benedict Cumberbatch), who champions Timothée Chalamet's Dylan from the moment he arrives in New York, to Elle Fanning's Sylvie Russo (a renamed version of Dylan's then-girlfriend Suze Rutolo), the film is full of supporters who help the burgeoning talent realize his full potential.
Though the movie is ostensibly a Bob Dylan biopic of sorts (it only covers about five years in the musician's life), if you listen to any interviews with the cast or Mangold himself, you'll hear...

Robert Downey Jr.’s rise to fame is the ultimate Hollywood glow-up. In his early career, of course, he was the charming, talented actor in films like Less Than Zero and Chaplin, but his personal life was a bit of a mess. His struggles with addiction and legal issues kept him in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, and his paycheck didn’t match his potential.
Yes, he wasn’t exactly swimming in cash before Iron Man, making decent money but nothing that screamed “superstar.”

Then came Iron Man in 2008, and that’s when everything changed. Downey Jr. didn’t just play Tony Stark, he literally became Tony Stark. His snarky, charismatic performance turned him into a box-office magnet, and suddenly, he was Hollywood’s golden boy. The salary that once barely scraped the surface? Gone.

Grey's Anatomy has seen many characters come and go during the course of its run, and among those who haven't been seen in a while is Martin Henderson's Dr. Nathan Riggs. Over seven years later, the actor has confirmed that he's open to the idea of returning as his fan-favorite character.
While speaking with Deadline to promote his series Virgin River, Henderson was asked about the possibility of returning to Grey's Anatomy. He teased that a return is possible, feeling that Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes would be supportive of a return of Dr. Riggs. It all comes down to scheduling, as Henderson is keeping pretty busy with his post-Grey's work.

It’s been more than seven years since Martin Henderson left ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy after two seasons as a series regular, playing Dr. Nathan Riggs. While the venerable medical drama is known for bringing back cast members, Henderson is one of few who have never been back.
During an interview about Season 6 of his popular Netflix series Virgin River, Deadline asked Henderson whether he has given any thought to potentially returning to Grey’s Anatomy.
“I haven’t given it a lot of thought, just because I’ve been so committed and busy with Virgin River and some other stuff and life,” he said. “But I think Shonda Rhimes has always been really supportive of me; we’ve actually worked together a bunch of times on different things, so I would always be open to the possibility. Ask any two music fans what qualifies as yacht rock, and an argument is sure to ensue.
Does Steely Dan count? (Absolutely.) What about Hall & Oates?
In the late 1970s and early ’80s, the term “yacht rock” was not yet a thing. But everyone knew the music of the Doobie Brothers, Toto and Christopher Cross — who swept the 1980 Grammys with his shimmering ballad “Sailing.”
Those acts topped the charts in an era when slick production, smooth melodies and expert chops ruled the radio waves alongside the country-tinged hits of the Eagles. That would all change when MTV crashed the scene. Suddenly the likes of “What a Fool Believes” and “Africa” were consigned to the uncool “soft rock” heap. After the rise of Madonna and Michael Jackson, some of the earlier wave of musicians moved on to soundtracks, like Kenny Loggins with the “Top Gun” hit “Danger Zone.”

If you have been keeping up with Dancing With The Stars Season 33, it is no surprise that former New England Patriots player Danny Amendola — and his professional dance partner, Witney Carson — have coasted their way to the finale of the reality television series.

We’re not going to offer any kind of defense of Jonah Hill, who, judging from events that played out on social media last year, may be closer to his This Is the End character than any of us thought. But it turns out that we do have to thank the Superbad star for one thing: He saved one of SNL’s most wonderfully bizarre recurring sketches from the editorial wrath of Lorne Michaels.
This week’s episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast concerned the Digital Short “Andy’s Dad,” in which Hill reveals that he’s been secretly dating Andy Samberg’s father (played by SNL head writer Jim Downey).
The podcast also featured a prolonged voicemail from Hill himself, who discussed not only “Andy’s Dad,” but also “Clancy and Jackie” from the same 2008 episode. That sketch found Will Forte and Kristen Wiig playing country singers Clancy T.

Saturday Night Live knows how to find and cultivate talent. The show has been responsible for some of the most beloved comedians and movie stars of the last five decades. That being said, the show has not always handled the exits of these stars gracefully.
Some of the biggest names to come out of SNL were actually fired from the show due to situations and circumstances that were out of their control. Well, out of their control in some instances. What is fascinating, though, is the fact that SNL will still invite these stars to come back as a host once they made it big.
We decided to chronicle this bizarre pattern, which dates back to the 1990s.

Do you feel the need – the need for speed? Well, just make sure that speed is set at 33 ½ Rpm because the soundtracks for two Tom Cruise classics, Top Gun and Days of Thunder, are coming to vinyl. But these aren’t any ordinary releases, as both are going to be available in their extended forms.
As per Variety, the Top Gun and Days of Thunder vinyl releases will drop on this Friday, October 18th. While these soundtracks were previously released on CD, these are on 140 gram vinyl. They are also remarkably different from the original albums, as the 1986 Top Gun soundtrack featured only one track from composer Harold Faltemeyer (“Mighty Wings”), with the real selling point being Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” and Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away”, which would win the Oscar for Best Original Song.

This article contains spoilers for the Sept. 24 episode of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Week 2 of “Dancing With the Stars” was “Oscars Night,” with couples dancing to songs from films including “Barbie,” “A Star is Born,” “La La Land” and “Superman,” while Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher and pro Alan Bersten both lifted each other in a Salsa set to to “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” from “Dirty Dancing.”
We also saw not one but two stars going home, including much-protested con artist Anna Delvey — whose casting was even called out by fellow ABC show “The View” — and “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Tori Spelling. The double elimination was announced during last week’s premiere, where no cuts were made. Points from last week were carried over to Tuesday night’s show.

Dancing with the Stars season 33 week 2 scorecard: Who went home on DWTS?
The Dancing with the Stars season 33 premiere on Sept. 17 did not send anyone home. Each duo was introduced and performed their first dance, giving audiences and judges a good idea of where they stand and their chances of improvement. It was quite the event! As Alfonso Ribeiro shared in Week 2, the season 33 premiere was the most-watched in years!
No one was sent home at the end of Week 1, but the scores have been added to this week’s scores to decide who’ll be going home. But it’s not only one duo packing and going home this week, but Two! That’s right, we got a double elimination. Did you cast your vote? They can make all of the difference!
Week 2 was Oscars Night, so all songs are from popular, critically acclaimed movies. How did everyone do this week?...

Dancing with the Stars Season 33 is about to take a hard left turn.
The season premiere aired earlier this week, and everyone stayed in the competition for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy for another week.
However, the second episode of the season will feature a double elimination, shifting the ballroom dynamics quite a bit.
With the cast able to perform their first performances of the season without the threat of going home the same night, the heat will be turned up, and we’ll have to watch to see whether there will be any mistakes with the increased pressure.
Losing two competitors this early in the season is a big swing, but it will be a great way to eliminate the worst performers, assuming viewers vote based on their performances alone.
Despite scoring a decent 18 out of 30 during the premiere, Anna Delvey is probably on borrowed time.

Top Gun has become a classic 1980s movie despite a mediocre Rotten Tomatoes score and some plot inconsistencies. The film's use of iconic songs like "Danger Zone" and "Take My Breath Away" is criticized for being overused. Maverick and Iceman's newfound respect for each other in the film seems rushed and unrealistic.
Tom Cruise's Top Gun has become a memorable and important film over the past 38 years, yet there are still some weaker parts of the plot. Top Gun is a fun, action-filled movie about a reckless Navy pilot named Maverick and his partner Goose, who attend the Top Gun Academy. The film has many famous montages, iconic songs, and Top Gun's infamously bad sex scene. Tom Cruise leads Top Gun's iconic cast as Maverick, along with Anthony Edwards as Goose, and Kelly McGillis as Maverick's love interest and instructor, Charlie Blackwood.

Robert Downey Jr. detested working on U.S. Marshals, calling it one of the worst action movies ever. Downey Jr. is wasted in The Fugitive sequel and is weirdly lacking in charm or charisma. U.S. Marshals is not the worst action movie ever, but compared to The Fugitive it is very disappointing.
Robert Downey Jr's U.S. Marshals is a follow-up to a classic Harrison Ford thriller, but he truly detested working on it. Robert Downey Jr's talent was obvious from an early stage, be it for his harrowing turn in 1987's Less Than Zero or his Academy Award-nominated work in Chaplin. Unfortunately, addiction issues began to overshadow his work in the late 1990s. Downey Jr staged the ultimate acting comeback during the 2000s, fronting a range of great movies like Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang and the original Iron Man.

The 23rd edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival, kicked off Friday night with a sold-out screening of Dogman, the canine-focused revenge thriller by the French veteran Luc Besson, with Dogman co-star Jojo T. Gibbs in attendance.
Some 3,500 viewers backed Unirii Square in Cluj-Napoca for the start of the 11-day festival, which runs through June 24. The following contains brief plot spoilers for The Seven Deadly Sins: The Four Knights of the Apocalypse; season one available on Netflix.
The leader of Britannias Seven Deadly Sins and the heir to the Demon Clan throne, Meliodas, the Dragon's Sin of Wrath, is a character with an extensive and extremely convoluted family tree. His complicated lineage has become one of the more complicated families in shnen anime.
This is in no short part caused by The Seven Deadly Sins series' tendency to drip-feed its audience information about its characters before providing massive revelations later on. Because of this, it can sometimes be difficult to navigate the young Demon Princes family tree. However, what little information currently known about Melodias' family can be pieced together to create a rough draft of who's a part of his family and how theyre related to Meliodas.

Tom Cruise has portrayed unforgettable characters in numerous films, but Top Gun stands out as one of his most iconic performances. Despite his breathtaking stunts in the Mission: Impossible franchise and outstanding roles in other movies, Cruise’s portrayal of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in Top Gun will be remembered for generations to come.
Tom Cruise as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from Top Gun
What makes the movie even more special is the mesmerizing aerial scenes and the way the movie captures the thrill and danger of naval aviation. While the chemistry between Cruise’s character and his fellow pilots adds an extra layer of excitement to the film, it is heartbreaking to think that Cruise might have never starred as Marevrick if it wasn’t for a US Navy flight squad.

Polish film-maker Vita Maria Drygas’s new documentary, Danger Zone, follows ‘dark tourists’ such as Andrew Drury into conflict areas. They talk about adrenaline, desperation – and interviewing Shamima Begum
In 2014, Vita Maria Drygas was filming in a war zone. She had travelled to the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine to pick up footage for a documentary when she spotted a handwritten advert offering “cheap” tours of the frontline. “It was a mindfuck,” says the 39-year-old Polish director over a video call from Warsaw, with quiet intensity.
She found the idea of people buying tickets to the frontline, like a theatre production, profoundly shocking: “It was impossible. I didn’t believe it.” At first, she assumed that the advert was a sick joke or maybe a Russian provocation. But back in Poland, digging around on the internet, she discovered the hidden world of war jollies: “A huge branch of tourism that is very underground.

Composer Lorne Balfe has spent his career working on blockbusters including “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” but even so, Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller “Argylle,” which features an all-star cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell and Henry Cavill, was one for the books. For a start, the soundtrack incorporates the Beatles’ last-ever record, “Now and Then,” the existence of which Balfe had to keep top secret for over a year until it was finally released last November.
The movie also involved Balfe making an album of cat sounds, provided by Vaughn’s moggy (and Howard’s co-star) Chip. “There were recordings of him while they were filming so we were able to chop it up and make it a percussion library,” says Balfe, a self-confessed dog person. “I’m going to post it on Twitter as a freebie so composers can use it and Chip...

Taking a one-for-us victory lap after one-for-them studio smash “Captain Marvel,” indie duo Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden blow a big, self-indulgent kiss to the late-’80s East Bay with nostalgia-fueled “Freaky Tales.” Berkeley-born Fleck was all of 10 years old in early 1987, when this overstuffed anthology film is set, which explains the wide-eyed way he romanticizes the defining subcultures of the time.
In four distinct but intertwining chapters — populated mostly with fresh faces, plus grizzled-but-gorgeous Pedro Pascal — “Freaky Tales” melds wildly different sectors of the city: There’s the rowdy-yet-respectful Gilman Street punk crowd; the revolutionary Oakland hip-hop scene; the Warriors’ historic victory over the Lakers, in which local basketball legend Eric “Sleepy” Floyd scored a record-setting 29 points in the fourth quarter; and a disturbing spike in neo-Nazi-linked hate crimes, which strangely serves to tie everything else together.

If it takes doing an MCU movie, with all the corporate constrictions that entails, to plunge into the kind of exhilarating creative exorcism that Freaky Tales represents, then bring on the superhero as stepping-stone. Before they made Captain Marvel, longtime filmmaking duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck established their talents with three boldly idiosyncratic indies, Half Nelson, Sugar and Mississippi Grind. But nothing in those distinctive works can prepare you for the kinetic energy, the freewheeling imagination and the righteous battles — we’re talking rap and some serious blade slice-and-dice — of their love letter to the Bay Area and the pop-cultural imprint it left on Fleck as a kid in the ‘80s.
The tales of the title are four chapters all built around the theme of underdog victory, each of them different in texture and tone yet all ingeniously interconnected and all owing something to the big-screen aesthetics of the time.

Tom Cruise has made a name for himself, starring in action films that boast a slew of exciting stunts and even more thrilling plot lines. Known mostly for his work on the Mission: Impossible franchise, Cruise has become a powerhouse in the action movie genre and has gained recognition as well as admiration for often wanting to do spectacular stunts himself instead of using a stuntperson. While the Mission: Impossible franchise has undoubtedly added a lot of success to his career path, there also were other movies that made him famous, arguably, all around the world.
Two of his best films have always been in the Top Gun franchise, with the first entry being released in 1986 and directed by Tony Scott. The movie tells the story of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a fighter pilot for the Navy who is known for his obnoxious antics (i.e. the tower flyby) and devil-may-care attitude.

In 80s action movies, popular songs were played during big scenes, creating iconic moments and adding tension and excitement to the story. Songs like "Eye of the Tiger" in Rocky III and "Danger Zone" in Top Gun became anthems of the movies, setting the tone and becoming enduring hits. Some songs, like "Fight the Power" in Do the Right Thing, were specifically created for the film and added to the powerful and intense scenes, enhancing the overall impact of the movie.
One of the staples of great 80s action movies was often a popular song that would play during a big scene or a montage. The 80s saw a big shift in the action genre, with many of the most popular action films of all time being released in that decade. Taiwan-Japan documentary After the Snowmelt and Filipino fantasy feature Mother Maybe were presented with the Taicca X Cnc Awards at the close of the pitching forum at Taiwan Creative Content Fest (Tccf). Both awards came with a cash prize of $30,000.
Organized by Taiwan Creative Content Agency (Taicca), Tccf’s Pitching event handed out awards worth nearly $200,000. Taicca chairperson Homme Tsai said this was possible as the agency had “actively collaborated with South Korea, France, Japan and the three major telecommunications companies in Taiwan. Our goal is to provide creators with more funding while seeking additional international collaboration opportunities.”
Initially, the event had planned to only hand out one Taicca X Cnc Award, in partnership with French national film agency Cnc, but announced at the end of the ceremony that, due to the high quality of submissions, it would hand out two awards.

The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam revealed its opening night film and announced competition lineups in two main categories today, completing the program for the upcoming 36th edition of the world’s largest documentary festival.
At a press conference in Amsterdam, A Picture to Remember, directed by Ukrainian filmmaker Olga Chernykh, was announced as IDFA’s opening night film on November 8. The festival, which includes more than 250 films total, runs from Nov. 8-19.
“[A Picture to Remember] presents a deeply personal and essay-style account of the ongoing war in Ukraine and its violent history, seen through the prism of three generations of women: Chernykh herself, her mother, and her grandmother,” IDFA said in a release. “In a bid for connection and intimacy, the filmmaker uses old family films, recordings of conversations, and news reports to bridge the distance between her and her grandmother. The result is a kaleidoscopic and personal film that travels through time fluidly.

I first heard about FX’s “Archer” in the ready room of Vaq-135, a navy squadron who were serving an interminable deployment aboard an aircraft carrier somewhere near Midway Island. (This sounds very much like a humblebrag that Sterling Archer would obnoxiously drop into conversation). It was 2010, and the pilots had lost whatever idealism they’d once had during an endless deployment that had them flying 12-hour missions from the Persian Gulf to Afghanistan. I started hearing the officers stage-whisper “danger zone” whenever one of them got called in to see the commanding officer over some minor fuck-up or summoned to the flight deck in the pitch black of an ocean night.
Now, famously, “Danger Zone” is a Kenny Loggins song that plays a significant role in the homoerotic original recipe “Top Gun,” the urtext of naval aviators. But the way the pilots were saying it suggested they were taking the piss.

In Vita Maria Drygas’ doc “Danger Zone,” war is for sale. And there are people who can afford it.
“The very idea of ‘war tourism’ was shocking to me. Armed conflict is not a stage: you don’t buy tickets to watch a show,” she says ahead of the premiere at Warsaw Film Festival.
Produced by Vita Żelakeviciute for Drygas Film Production, “Danger Zone” is co-produced by Next Film and Dogwoof, the latter also handling sales.
She first came across the controversial, world-spanning phenomenon when filming mid-length “Piano” during the Maidan revolution in Ukraine.
“I was surrounded by people who were fighting for their freedom and the future of their country. My focus shifted from merely making a film to actively supporting their cause. Then I saw this ad: someone was offering tours to the frontlines. At first, I thought it was a provocation by the separatists.”

The notion that, 40 years ago, Madonna was a shooting star predestined for the stratosphere is the stuff of pop music myth. The then-twentysomething singer’s demo tape, which included early versions of classics like “Everybody” and “Burning Up,” was rebuffed multiple times before she finally landed a deal with Sire Records, best known for punk and new wave acts like Talking Heads and the Ramones. Madonna became the label’s flagship act, thanks to the slow-burning success of her self-titled album, which finally hit the Top 10 more than a year after its debut and would go on to spend a staggering 165 consecutive weeks on the Billboard chart.
Madonna was so eager to move on from her debut and release her second album, Like a Virgin, that, during an on-air interview with MTV, she publicly hexed her latest single, “Borderline,” hoping it would “fizzle out.” No such luck. The song became...

While Top Gun: Maverick surpasses the original Top Gun in many ways, the sequel does fall down in one crucial area. Top Gun: Maverick is a rare sequel that not only equals but arguably outdoes its predecessor. While 1986’s original Top Gun is a fun action movie, Top Gun: Maverick is a more poignant, sharper character study. Tom Cruise’s cocksure Maverick is charming in Top Gun, but in he is a fascinating, contradictory mixture of guilt, ego, and charisma Top Gun: Maverick. Top Gun: Maverick’s action sequences are clearer and, as a result, more intense than the original movie’s flying scenes thanks to technological advances.
However, not everything about Top Gun: Maverick beats the original movie. Top Gun’s Viper doesn’t return in Top Gun: Maverick which was dispiriting after his pivotal role in the original movie. Not only that but Top Gun: Maverick also fails...

The 1980s in the United States was a time defined by Reagan-era politics, 1950s nostalgia, rampant consumerism, corporate corruption, cocaine, synth-pop, and the waning years of the Cold War. Hollywood underwent a major transformation as well, shifting from the auteur cinema of the late 1960s and 1970s to the beginnings of the blockbuster era.

Whether it's the inclusion of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence" in "The Graduate" to emphasize the complicated future of the two leads or Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" in "Wayne's World" that inspired audiences everywhere to headbang in their cars, there's an art to the (often very expensive) cinematic needle drop. A song choice can truly make or break the effectiveness of a scene and when done properly, the collaboration between song and screen can become synonymous. "Top Gun" and the Kenny Loggin' song "Danger Zone" now go hand-in-hand with one another, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who hears the tin whistle opening of "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion and not immediately think about Jack and Rose in "Titanic."

Donald Trump held the first campaign rally for his 2024 presidential campaign on Saturday, held at the Waco Regional Airport in Texas, making a dramatic entrance with a flyover to the tune of Top Gun single “Danger Zone” as hundreds of his Maga followers in attendance cheered. Meanwhile, “Christian Worship Artist” Vanessa Horabuena took the stage, splashing paint onto a black canvas to quickly turn Rorshach-like splashes of orange, yellows and neutrals into a serious, side-faced profile portrait of Trump with an American flag in the background. The event also featured...

Tom Cruise got plenty of attention at the 2023 Oscars, and he wasn’t even in the building.
The star and producer of Top Gun: Maverick, which was nominated for six Academy Awards including best picture, did not attend the ceremony held Sunday at the Dolby Theatre. Cruise, who received a best picture nomination as a Maverick producer, has been busy with production on the eighth film in his long-running Mission: Impossible franchise.
But footage of Cruise from the movie was featured just after the start of the telecast during an introductory montage showing the year’s films. Host Jimmy Kimmel was spliced into a pivotal Maverick scene and appeared to be speaking with Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from the cockpit. After Cruise’s character said to pull the plane’s ejection handles, Kimmel responded, “I don’t want to pull the handles. What’s wrong with this guy?” When Cruise again said to eject,...

The release of Top Gun: Maverick also brings a new soundtrack full of perfect Top Gun songs to go along with Tom Cruise’s amazing aerial stunts. Most of Top Gun: Maverick is overlaid by an incredible score composed by Harold Faltermeyer, who also composed the score for the first film, including the iconic "Top Gun Anthem," with help from Hans Zimmer and Lady Gaga. But the few pop songs contributed to the film are important in setting the mood for Maverick's continued story of learning to let go of the past.
Top Gun: Maverick prominently features several new songs, including an original pop ballad from Lady Gaga, taking the Top Gun sequel's music to new heights while also evoking memories of songs from the first film. In bringing the character of Maverick to the 21st century, the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack is a limited but fun mixture of new songs and popular oldies.
