Have you ever had the feeling you’ve seen something before, but couldn’t quite place when or where? A sense of…deja-view? (Hold your applause and/or groans. It was a premium cable channel way before this stupid pun.) I’m sure it’s happened to all of us at some point, and because I’m an old it took me halfway through watching A Taste of Evil (1971), an ABC Movie of the Week, to realize I had seen the almost exact same plot rolled out in a movie earlier in the same week. Horror is incestuous, and it had to happen eventually, especially when the same writer pens both.
Originally airing on Tuesday, October 12th, A Taste of Evil won out over CBS’ Hawaii Five-o/Cannon block and poor NBC’s Sarge/The Funny Side (from the peacock graveyard – if you know what they are, let me know...

The third Children Of The Corn movie is a step up, and a really fun movie...
The film: After the disappearance of their father, brothers Eli (Daniel Cerny) and Joshua (Ron Melendez), are adopted by a Chicago couple, William (Jim Metzler) and Amanda (Nancy Lee Grahn). The brothers are from Gatlin, Nebraska and are used to more conservative ways, but slowly Joshua acclimatises to his new environment. However, Eli is less keen to shed the religion of He Who Walks Behind The Rows and begins scheming to lure in his fellow students with his magic brainwashing corn.

You would think that the adoption going drastically wrong in Children Of The Corn II: The [Not So] Final Sacrifice would put people off taking in weird kids from Gatlin, but here we are. Children Of The Corn III: Urban Harvest...

We all have to start somewhere, right? Despite its history of cinema classics and major box office success, the horror genre is often maligned as somehow less worthy of respect than other types of films. For whatever reason, it's not as easy to get an A-list actor to headline a horror movie as it should be. But beggars can't be choosers. Plenty of Oscar-nomintaed thespians had no problem making horror flicks on the way up. Today, we're looking at 10 future A-List actors who made horror movies before they became big time celebrities.
Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger
There may be no greater example of the phenomenon we're talking about here than the fourth film in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, which starred two future A-list actors and is demonstrative of the shrewd and cynical strategies of Hollywood. In 1994, relative unknowns Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger had already been in Dazed and Confused...

It sounds like Puck may be heading to prison after all. Glee actor Mark Salling is now facing a minimum of 5 years behind bars after being indicted today. The man is accused of receiving and possessing child porn on both his laptop and through a flash memory drive. The actor is best known for playing high school football star and choir member Noah Puckerman on Fox's hit musical drama, which went off the air March of last year.
Salling was named in a two-count indictment, which was returned today by a federal grand jury. Salling agreed through his lawyer to surrender to federal authorities on June 3 according to the U.S. Attorney. He now faces two charges and will be arraigned at that time. Receiving child pornography carries a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years, and a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years in federal prison. This gets added to the possession charge,...

When Glee actor Mark Salling was arrested in connection with possessing child pornography Tuesday, it sent shock waves through the still devoted fan base of Fox's cult favorite musical-comedy. Salling, 33, played Noah "Puck" Puckerman from 2009-15 on Glee. A mohawked jock known for tossing students into a dumpster, Puck was best friends with Cory Monteith's character Finn Hudson - though he cheated and had a baby with Finn's girlfriend - and evolved over six seasons, eventually enlisting in the Air Force. His Big Break Born in Dallas, Salling began playing the piano at age 5 and performed in rock bands in high school,...

Actress Karen Black, star of such films as Five Easy Pieces and Trilogy of Terror died today in Los Angeles. She was 74.
Born in 1939 in Illinois, she studied acting at Northwestern University until she dropped out and moved to New York. Summer stock and theater were Black's staples, eventually debuting on Broadway in 1961. Her first major film role was in Francis Ford Coppola's You're a Big Boy Now. Black is best known to "mainstream" audiences for her roles in films like Five Easy Pieces (a role for which she was nominated for an Oscar), Easy Rider, and Nashville, which represented a time when independent films were emerging as a viable, respectable segment of the film world.
Black's career took a "turn" in 1975 when she took the lead in Trilogy of Terror, a made-for-tv anthology film. (The "turn" reference comes from Hollywood Reporter, which to me comes off dismissive, as if she wasted her career.

Unbelievably, Dimension Extreme is getting ready to release a ninth "Children of the Corn" title in August, 2011! For those of you keeping track, there has been Children of the Corn (1984), Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1992), Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995), Children of the Corn: The Gathering (1996), Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998), Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return (1999) and the list goes on and on and on! All of these films are very loosely based on a short story from Stephen King's horror anthology The Night Shift (1979). Since then, there have been hours and hours of films, including a television movie, dedicated to these maize loving characters. Now, Dimension will try to capitalize on a theme that surely must be losing steam with Children of the Corn: Genesis, which will go straight to DVD. As well, the title seems to state...
