Image
David Dastmalchian is taking on one of his most exciting roles yet with his casting in the upcoming Street Fighter reboot. Following reports about the actor's casting in the film, Dastmalchian has officially confirmed his role.

While promoting his role in the new Paramount+ series Dexter: Resurrection, Dastmalchian was asked by Cbr's Caralynn Matassa about the Street Fighter movie following the reports of his casting. In the reports, Dastmalchian was said to be playing M. Bison, the big bad. While the actor couldn't share anything else about the movie, he verified that the reports were accurate.

As Dastmalchian said when asked what he could say about the film, "That I'm in it. That I'm playing M. Bison."

The M. Bison character was memorably played by the late Raul Julia in the original Street Fighter film in 1994, serving as a nemesis for Jean-Claude Van Damme's Guile. Neal McDonough later...

Dillon Warnek, a Wry Nashville Songwriter, Wants to Be Your Sizzling Plate of Fajitas
Image
One night near the tail end of 2021, I received a text from Dillon Warnek. I didn’t recognize the number, a Washington state area code, or the name, but he said he was a songwriter here in Nashville with a record coming out, and that Margo Price and Jeremy Ivey played on it.

“I only bring that up so that you know that I at least have other crazy people vouching for my craziness,” Dillon wrote.

I appreciated the hustle, and the postscript of his text — that he was really...

Zee Entertainment Partners With Bullet for Indian Micro-Drama App
Image
Zee Entertainment Enterprises is betting big on micro-dramas as the next frontier in Indian digital entertainment, revealing a strategic equity partnership with startup Bullet to launch a micro-drama application.

The Mumbai-based media giant will invest in and acquire a stake in Bullet, which has been co-founded by serial entrepreneurs Azim Lalani and Saurabh Kushwah. The new platform will be integrated within Zee’s ZEE5 ecosystem, giving it immediate access to the streaming service’s established user base.

Bullet is designed around short-duration vertical format episodes that target younger audiences with “fast-paced, creator-driven content.” The platform aims to deliver what Lalani calls “masala-paced plots and emotional punch, tailored for binge-watching in short bursts.”

India is relatively new to the micro-drama trend compared to neighbor China, where revenue from the format was $6.9 billion, exceeding local box office for the first time, per DataEye statistics. Multiple projections point to the market size for...

‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ Directors on That Prop Cameo & Bringing Michael Biehn into the Franchise [Interview]
Image
Predator: Killer of Killers, the original animated anthology from co-directors Dan Trachtenberg (Prey) & Joshua Wassung, pits new characters across time against the mighty Yautja. It also features a few callbacks to the Predator franchise and beyond.

The film, now streaming on Hulu, follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause.

It’s the third segment, the 1941-set “Bullet,” that brings the film closer to the familiar Predator timeline.

The segment introduces Torres (Rick Gonzalez), a young car mechanic drafted into the war as a fighter pilot. It makes him uniquely suited to notice something deeply amiss during an intense dogfight. Torres...

Aronofsky and Soderbergh Collaborator Eddie Alcazar Debuts Surreal Animated Pilot Inspired by ’90s Golden Age of Cartoons — Watch the Trailer
Image
Eddie Alcazar is the under-the-radar, up-and-coming visionary filmmaker who’s collaborated with everyone from Steven Soderbergh to Darren Aronofsky and The Weeknd. Soderbergh executive-produced Alcazar’s 2018 sci-fi debut “Perfect” before teaming up with the filmmaker again for his 2023 black-and-white Sundance premiere “Divinity,” which IndieWire deemed one of that year’s “best-looking movies.”

Aronofsky, meanwhile, executive-produced Alcazar’s short film “The Vandal,” released by New Yorker Studios in 2021. And filmmaker Alcazar, who also works as a writer and game developer, also wrote and directed The Weeknd’s stop-motion music video “Red Terror” earlier this year.

But Alcazar’s next project is “Bullet Time,” a hand-drawn TV pilot, fours years in the making, that he created and directed that tributes the Golden Age of ’90s animation. Alcazar hopes the DIY, tactile approach to the storytelling will be an antidote to AI-driven times. Danny Elfman also composed the music.

Street Fighter movie cast begins to take shape
Image
Although it was removed from Sony’s 2026 schedule, things seem to be moving ahead for the new Street Fighter film. Jason Momoa could be in it.

Back in March we covered a report which stated that Sony had removed its planned Street Fighter movie adaptation from its 2026 release schedule. Given that the project had already gone through one change in director and casting still hadn’t been announced, we couldn’t help but wonder if that marked a quiet end for the production.

Given that the only other live action take on Capcom’s beloved tournament fighting videogame series was a mostly unloved 1994 film starring Kylie Minogue, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this latest incarnation – set to be directed by prank-based road movie Bad Trip's Kitao Sakurai – was facing a similarly ignominious fate.

That appears not to be the case.

This morning, Deadline reports that Legendary, current holders...

Sydney Sweeney’s Wild Audition Move: The ‘Love Letter’ Quentin Tarantino Couldn’t Let Go Of
Image
What was Sudney Sweeney’s bold audition move?(Photo Credit –Instagram)

Yes! Sydney Sweeney’s bold move involved Charles Manson, a fictional obsession, and a love letter that left Quentin Tarantino so shook, he asked to keep it. Yep, Sweeney wrote what she called a “f***ed up love letter,” and Tarantino never let it go.

It all happened during the casting process for Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. While A-listers like Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and Leonardo DiCaprio coasted straight into their roles, up-and-comers like Sweeney had to grind. And in true Tarantino fashion, the audition process wasn’t exactly normal.

According to Sweeney, Tarantino asked actors to get creative – write a song, paint something, or just go wild. “Basically you could write a song, or paint something as well, because at this stage Tarantino had everyone auditioning for the same role and then he would place you...

10 Dark Attack on Titan Moments That Are Unforgettably Disturbing
Image
Attack on Titan truly pulls no punches in a way few anime series do, starting off the first ever episode with a scene of unspeakable tragedy and gore. The Titans immediately destroyed the walls of Shiganshina and massacred countless citizens, and this was only the beginning of the darkness to come.

Because the series is set during a war, death is an everyday occurrence for these characters, making for some of the most tear-jerking situations in anime. Although Attack on Titan does have a grim emotional tone overall, a handful of scenes go a step further by candidly portraying the repercussions of war and the losses that can never be regained.

Though Alien: Romulus received a mostly positive response from critics and fans, one aspect of the movie that was met with almost universal backlash was the likeness of a deceased actor being used for a new character via VFX.

When Rain Carradine and her crew arrive on the derelict space station, they learn that the ship's android is still functional despite clearly being in very bad shape after a Xenomorph attack. They plug him in to discover what happened, and we see that the synthetic is the same model as Ash from Ridley Scott's original movie.

The late Ian Holm was "resurrected" (with permission from the actor's estate) to achieve this, but even setting aside the controversy surrounding the practice of "digital necromancy," the effects used to portray the character were... not the best.

Some shots looked okay, but for the majority of Rook's screen-time, his face basically...

When he’s serious, you better believe that he’s dead serious. Donald Trump is refusing to troll about this issue. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Donald Trump – Refuses To Troll About This Issue

According to a new report, President-elect Trump is “100% serious” about acquiring the Panama Canal and Greenland according to a source who spoke with the New York Post. The source says Trump wants Greenland along with the Panama Canal to counter Chinese and Russian threats.

During Trump’s first administration, Trump studied how a negotiation and takeover of Greenland would go down which was floated to Denmark in 2019. However, the proposal was shut down at the time.

Sources say the first step of acquiring Greenland is winning over their residents. “People are acting like it’s a crazy thing, and it’s not at all,” former Treasury Department official Thomas Dans told the Post.

Adrien Brody’s Trick Which Made Him the Youngest Actor to Win an Oscar
Image
Adrien Brody’s name honestly echoes Hollywood. His road to Oscar glory wasn’t exactly smooth, more like a scenic detour with a few flat tires. Before becoming the youngest-ever Best Actor Academy Award winner at 29, Brody was already grinding hard in Hollywood.

He made his debut as a wide-eyed thirteen-year-old orphan in Home at Last and surprisingly, shared screen time with Tupac Shakur in 1996 crime drama Bullet. By 1998, Brody thought he’d hit the jackpot with Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line, only for most of his scenes to be slashed in post-production.

But he kept hustling through indie flicks like Restaurant and Summer of Sam, even breaking his nose in the name of art, until fate handed him The Pianist in 2002. Roman Polanski’s WWII epic gave Brody the role of a lifetime as Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Jewish pianist...

Melania Trump Praised For Being A Good Mother
Image
This certainly could have turned out any other way, but thankfully it didn’t at all. Many fans and critics on both sides of the aisle have taken to social media to praise Melania Trump for raising her son Barron the way that she has. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Melania Trump Praised For Being A Good Mother

Just this past week a video of Barron Trump speaking has made the rounds on social media. Of course, a lot of people were surprised to see the short clip as it was the first time that Barron’s voice was heard in public. Or at least, his adult voice.

While Barron didn’t say much, he did shake hands with some of the people that were at Mar-a-Lago with Donald Trump on election night, including Dana White.

Barron just seemed to stun everyone with just the way...

6 Iconic Werewolf Deaths in Film That’ll Make You Howl at the Moon
Image
Presented by Steven C. Miller’s Werewolves, Bloody Disgusting is looking to the stars and howling at the moon with Werewolves Week. Today, Luiz H.C. grabs a handful of silver bullets as he revisits six iconic werewolf deaths in horror history.

Personally, I’ve always found monster movies to be more thrilling when they give the protagonists a fighting chance. This tiny sliver of narrative hope usually comes in the form of a specific weakness that can be exploited in order to defeat whatever creature happens to be attacking, with one of the most famous examples being werewolves’ “allergic reaction” towards silver – with even young children being aware of this fatal weakness.

However, there’s more than one way to skin a cat (or a lycanthrope), and in honor of Steven C. Miller’s upcoming Werewolves, which depicts a world where a Supermoon event has turned millions of people into monsters,...

Disney Apac Content Chief Carol Choi On Disney+’s Premium Streaming Pivot, Live Sports Rights & Korea’s Ongoing Influence
Image
After pulling back on original content production in Southeast Asia and doubling down on efforts in Korea and Japan over the past year, Disney+ is focused on creating a premium service in Asia, instead of a mass one.

That’s according to Carol Choi, Disney’s Executive Vice-President for Apac (ex-India), Original Content Strategy, who has spoken exclusively to Deadline about her plans for the streamer, which first launched in the region three years ago as part of the global Disney+ rollout. Since then, the streamer reset and Disney’s focus on profit over subs progress has changed Choi’s focus.

“As the market and the Disney+ service continue to evolve, we continue to evaluate where we should focus our efforts and for the lack of a better term, get most bang out of our buck,” she said. “If you look at our Southeast Asia product offering, we’ve pivoted.

This 29-Year-Old Spy Movie Almost Made Michael Caine Retire From Acting
Image
Up until his recent official retirement in October 2023, actor Michael Caine had been a part of cinema history for well over half a century. However, many fans aren't aware that, had it not been for the silver-tongued persuasion of a fellow gigantic movie star, the silver screen never would have seen Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Dr. Wilbur Larch, Harry Brown, or any of his other memorable late-career turns.

Why did Michael Caine want to retire from acting in the early 90s? The reasons were plentiful, but the final straw that broke the camel's back was the extremely troubled production (and utterly abysmal success) of a little-known movie called Bullet to Beijing. On the set of that film, Caine had to deal with everything from the Russian mob to potential radiation concerns, and when it was all said and done, the actor finally felt like he had had enough.

“I didn’t think I was good enough”: ‘Landman’ Star Billy Bob Thornton on Why His Angelina Jolie Affair Was Doomed from Start

When one thinks of Angelina Jolie’s personal life, one of the first names to be brought up is that of Brad Pitt. The two had a whirlwind of a romance that ended in just as bright a fire as the spark they felt on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The tales of their divorce still echo in the empty mansions of Hollywood, and while years have passed since they parted ways, they cannot seem to outrun their names being put together.

Kamala Harris Lost The Election Because Of Tim Walz?
Image
Is this where she misstepped? It’s a question that a lot of people can’t help but wonder as there’s heavy speculation suggesting Kamala Harris might have lost the election because of Tim Walz. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Kamala Harris – Lost The Election Because Of Tim Walz?

It’s being debated on social media that Kamala Harris might have proven herself to be less qualified than previously thought and that’s only because she picked Tim Walz as her vice president.

In fact, there’s also speculation that Josh Shapiro was the obvious pick but Kamala got distracted by Walz’s theatrics in a few interviews back in July.

It goes without saying that the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.

Some even commented with, “I literally burst out laughing when she chose Walz. Josh Shapiro would’ve...

Fans of 007 are still waiting to see who will become the next actor to suit up in the tux as the next James Bond. Until an announcement is made, fans are continuing the debate over who'd be great for the role, but don't ask for Daniel Craig's opinion.

Craig previously played James Bond over the course of five feature films, culminating with 2021's No Time to Die. Ever since that film's release, it has been unclear when Bond 26 will start production, and no casting announcements for the iconic role have been officially made at this time. Per Variety, Craig was asked some questions about 007 during a recent interview alongside Drew Starkey to promote their new film Queer. After he was asked who he'd like to pass the torch to as the next actor to play Bond, Craig delivered a blunt response that went viral. With a chuckle,...

Kamala Harris – Shows Off A New Bizarre Accent Again

According to the latest reports, Vice President Kamala Harris once again showed off her preacher accent at a Black church in Detroit, but this time with less energy and enthusiasm.

Kamala Harris Desperately Begs Michelle Obama For Help

Has it really gotten this bad? It appears as though Kamala Harris might be desperately begging Michelle Obama for help as there’s only one week left in the presidential election. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Kamala Harris Desperately Begs Michelle Obama For Help

When Kamala Harris jumped into the race after Joe Biden dropped out this summer, she was holding a comfortable lead ahead of Donald Trump up until a few short weeks ago.

That’s because it seems like she’s changed her tactics and instead of talking about policies and her plans as the potential first female president of the United States, Kamala began attacking Donald’s character instead.

This strategy clearly hasn’t worked as it looks like it’s going to be a very tight finish for both Kamala and Donald so much so that there are some people in the...

Meet ‘Love Hurts’ Director Jonathan Eusebio, the Latest ‘John Wick’ Alum to Climb the Ranks
Image
It’s fitting that the first look at Jonathan Eusebio’s Love Hurts came in the same week as John Wick’s 10th anniversary. Eusebio, who’s affectionately known as “JoJo,” met Wick co-directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski at a martial arts school in the early ‘90s, and the two stunt performers turned filmmakers have taken Eusebio under their wings ever since. It was quite a career pivot for someone who majored in biological sciences at Uc Irvine, but it wasn’t completely unforeseen considering Eusebio’s two first loves were martial arts and Hong Kong action cinema.

Eusebio then climbed the ranks, working on the stunt teams for features like Blade II (2002) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). He then gained more and more responsibility through roles such as the assistant fight coordinator on The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) to the actual fight coordinator on Iron Man 2 (2010) and The Avengers (2012).

Then,...

Kamala Harris Can’t Hold Back Her Anger When Asked About Joe Biden

Is there something that she’s trying to tell us? That’s what both fans and critics on both sides of the aisle want to know as Kamala Harris’ voice got oddly high after being cornered during an NBC interview about Biden’s mental decline.

It almost seemed as though the vice president had a hard time speaking after being asked about her own judgment regarding her apparent failure to notice Biden’s cognitive decline.
