Trivia

Les galons du silence

Edit
Col. Cammermeyer's son Andy, played by Ryan Reynolds in the movie, was killed in a snowmobiling accident in Washington State on March 02, 2007.
From Wikipedia: After retirement, Cammermeyer ran for the United States Congress in Washington's 2nd congressional district in 1998. She won the Democratic primary, but lost in the general election to Republican incumbent Jack Metcalf. In June 2010, she was appointed to the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services, a committee which is appointed by the United States Secretary of Defense and which reports to the United States Department of Defense. In 2012, after same-sex marriage was legalized in Washington state, Cammermeyer and her wife Diane Divelbess became the first same-sex couple to get a license in Island County.
Epilogue: "On June 1, 1994, the U.S. District Court ruled that the government had violated Grethe Cammermeyer's constitutional rights to due process and equal protection and ordered her reinstated in the military. The Justice Department immediately appealed the decision. The Colonel continues to serve in the National Guard pending the legal outcome of her case and others like it." Addendum: Colonel Grethe Cammermeyer retired from the military in 1997.
Judy Davis was one of the first choices for the role of Alex Forrest in Fatal Attraction (1987). A role that finally went to Glenn Close.
