Hearts Afire (1992)

Trivia

Hearts Afire

Edit
The series started out as a Washington political satire taking place in a Senator's office and then changed to a small town newspaper office.
This was the first big project of Billy Bob Thorton. (Although he had already appeared in several off Broadway productions of Sling Blade.) This was the first collaberation of him and best friend John RItter, who would later; after the series wrapped; appear in the gothic thriller classic Sling Blade (the movie).
As of October 24, 2022 following the death of Leslie Jordan; Billy Bob Thornton, Beth Broderick and Clark Duke are the only surviving main cast members.
Both John Ritter and Markie Post would go on to make guest appearances on "Scrubs"; Ritter starred as Dr. John "JD" Dorian's father while Post portrayed the mother of Dr. Elliot Reid; JD and Elliot end up married at the end of the series.
The series' title comes from a lyric in the Earth, Wind & Fire song "That's The Way Of The World". In fact, "World" just happened to be one of the show's theme songs.
