Montage portrayal

Static shots, compositional exercises, long takes, natural pacing, very limited dialogue. The characters are almost secondary to the portrayal of a desolate, time worn, fading glory town crushed by the banality of routine. Tinka does a great job as the disaffected Blackjack dealer. Atypical movie experience. A sort of "slide show" storytelling slice of metaphysics.

Meditation

From time to time I like to put something unusual, something outside of my usual diet on my screen: experimental, Avantgarde, independent movies and such outcasts. Queen of Diamonds is a fine mediation and contemplation on modern human's existence and the kind of relationships, rituals and societies we build. At least that's my interpretation of the things that unfolded before my eyes and mind: there is not much story, not much dialogues, but long and revealing shots that observe our heroin and her activities and the activities surrounding her. Anyway, if you want to try something rather unusual and peculiar, you may try this one. I really enjoyed the short trip (77 minutes) - but be warned, this is the kind of movie some people love but others won't get at all.

First year film school project

Trying too hard to be a non storied avant garde all about the filming technique...Funny thing for me personally I worked in the Casino business and I knew a dealer that the female lead character reminded me of very much... sort of attractive but after 10-15 minutes into her personality you just realize...she was chilling empty, like most the scenes in the film.
