Elle King got candid about her “toxic” relationship with father Rob Schneider, who she said sent her to fat camp two summers in a row.
The artist stopped by Bunnie Xo’s podcast Dumb Blonde ahead of beginning her Baby Daddy’s Weekend Tour in September. During the conversation, the “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer not only opened up about having Schneider as a father but also her drunken Dolly Parton tribute at the Grand Ole Opry in January.
She explained that her father wasn’t really involved in her life growing up, and they didn’t connect until she was much older because she felt like he had a hard time relating to her. Even now, as an adult, King shared that her relationship with him is very ebb and flow.
“Right now, we’re not flowing,” she told the podcast host. “I disagree with a lot of the things that he says.

AHS: NYC explores the dark reality of the AIDS pandemic through a chilling allegory, showcasing the apathy towards the gay community's suffering. The show's deliberate exploitation draws parallels to real-life events, shining a harsh light on historical murders and diseases targeting Lgbtqia+ individuals. The ambiguous ending of AHS: NYC reflects today's climate, highlighting the ongoing struggles and deaths of marginalized communities while questioning the label of exploitation.
The conclusion of American Horror Story: NYC left the audience with mixed feelings. Although the Mai Tai Killer was earlier revealed to be Mr. Whitely, the overarching plot revolves around Big Daddy and the mysterious, lethal illness. In the finale, Big Daddy is shown to be a manifestation of the virus, an obvious allegory for AIDS. The season concludes with a literal march of death as New York's gay residents quickly succumb to the disease, because nothing is done to help them.

As the Silent Hill franchise continues to crawl its way back to resurgence, fans of the series now look forward to how Konami brings the seminal Silent Hill 2 back into the limelight with an upcoming film and a remake. It’s a humongous task, given how much the game means to the fan base.
Now, with the first look at Silent Hill 2’s adaptation, Return to Silent Hill, reactions range from being positive about the franchise’s future to outright skepticism.
Silent Hill 2’s Film Adaptation Suggests the Film Is Either Going to Be a Masterpiece or a Failure If there could be an award for the most devoted fan base, Silent Hill 2 would arguably win it.

Catering directly to my interests, the Criterion Channel’s January lineup boasts two of my favorite things: James Gray and cats. In the former case it’s his first five features (itself a terrible reminder he only released five movies in 20 years); the latter shows felines the respect they deserve, from Kuroneko to The Long Goodbye, Tourneur’s Cat People and Mick Garris’ Sleepwalkers. Meanwhile, Ava Gardner, Bertrand Tavernier, Isabel Sandoval, Ken Russell, Juleen Compton, George Harrison’s HandMade Films, and the Sundance Film Festival get retrospectives.
Restorations of Soviet sci-fi trip Ikarie Xb 1, The Unknown, and The Music of Regret stream, as does the recent Plan 75. January’s Criterion Editions are Inside Llewyn Davis, Farewell Amor, The Incredible Shrinking Man, and (most intriguingly) the long-out-of-print The Man Who Fell to Earth, Blu-rays of which go for hundreds of dollars.

Uri Marantz graduated from the Film School in Tel Aviv in mid- 1990s. He directed a number of short films, and was involved in several television projects, both as a writer and creator. He is best known for the hit series “Daddy” that aired on Hot. “Since filmmaking is more or less a hobby in Israel, I had to compromise a lot”, explains the Israeli helmer why it took him that long to direct a feature length movie, adding that he always had a project here and there happening, but that he ended up working in the advertising industry as a copy- and content writer. “My dream of filmmaking was somehow ebbing away”, he says.

The "Nightmare on Elm Street" film series was a hotbed for emerging talent. Many of the directors in the franchise would go on to prolific or interesting careers. Chuck Russell, director of "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" would go on to make Hollywood blockbusters like "The Mask," "Eraser," and "The Scorpion King." Renny Harlin, who directed "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master" would likewise enter the Hollywood mainstream with films like "Predator 2," "Die Hard 2," "Cliffhanger," and "Cutthroat Island." Jack Sholder, Stephen Hopkins, and Rachael Talalay also emerged from the series' directors pool.
One can also find a few rising actors at the start of their careers throughout the Freddy Krueger movies. Famously, a young Johnny Depp starred in Wes Craven's 1984 original, and, for "Dream Warriors," Patricia Arquette made her cinematic debut.

Will Ferrell brought his whole family to the "Barbie" premiere in London on July 12. The actor, who plays the CEO of Mattel in Greta Gerwig's surreal film, walked the hot-pink carpet alongside his wife, Viveca Paulin, and their three kids: 19-year-old Magnus, 16-year-old Mattias, and 13-year-old Axel. The event marks the family's first red carpet together since attending the "Daddy's Home 2" premiere in 2017.
Ferrell's entire family coordinated for the special occasion, with two of his sons wearing suits in shades of blue to match their mom's dress. His oldest son, Magnus, layered a purple suit over a floral button-down that matched Ferrell's pink tie. The family were all smiles as they posed together for the cameras. The three boys look just like their father, with Mattias bearing the closest resemblance to the Emmy-winning actor.
In a 2018 interview with Parade, Ferrell revealed that his sons share his sense of humor.

‘Rap Sh!t’ Music Supervisors Spent Three Months Trying to Clear Drake’s ‘No Friends in the Industry’
Issa Rae’s ‘Rap Sh!t” focuses on female friendships, but also female rappers and the challenges facing women in a male-dominated industry. For music supervisors Sarah Bromberg and Philippe Pierre, that meant pulling together a soundtrack of artists that not only reflected Miami’s rap scene but also the strong ties between its main characters.
In the Max show, Shawna has been chasing fame as a solo rapper, and she reunites with her friend Mia (rapper Kamillion) to form a rap duo. Together they navigate success, friendship and the lively city of Miami.
Here, Bromberg and Pierre break down key needle drops in the series and how they spent months trying to clear a Drake song, as well as having to change an original song at the last minute due to clearance issues.
“No Friends in the Industry” – Drake
Bromberg: This was not in the script. They were nice enough to not script Drake.

During Louis C.K.’s stand-up return in New York City last year, the former FX comedy series creator and Emmy-winning Louie writer joked that in the wake of the New York Times report that he masturbated in front of several female comics over the years, he “lost $35 million in an hour.”
One reporter today at TCA asked FX network boss John Landgraf his thoughts on C.K. in light of the fact that he made most of his money from the cable network.
“I think he can make light of it he he wants,” said Landgraf. “I’m sure losing all that money was painful for him.”
At last winter’s TCA, Landgraf revealed the results of an internal network investigation on C.K. after the New York Times fall 2017 story.

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have announced they are cutting ties with controversial comedian Louis C.K., who will not be returning for the animated sequel The Secret Life of Pets 2. The move comes in the wake of a New York Times report where five women came forward and revealed that the beloved comedian either masturbated in front of them, or during phone conversations. In a surprising move, Louis C.K. admitted these stories were true in an impassioned statement earlier today, which has lead to an exodus of sorts, with networks, studios, production companies and even his publicists cutting ties with the comedian.
In the original animated hit The Secret Life of Pets, Louis C.K. provided the voice of Max, a beloved Jack Russell Terrier dog who was the main protagonist in the story, who had been expected to return but will no longer do so. It isn't known if the...

The biggest problem with the DC Comics series on the CW is that they are overstuffed, robbing the title character of the spotlight and forcing them to work as part of a team. The formula can be repetitive and stifling, demanding that the star rise above the noise to get noticed.
As Supergirl moved from CBS where it was a well-reviewed, low-rated buzz series, to the CW, changes had to be made. Calista Flockhart chose not to join the team in Canada so Cat Grant, one of the more interesting members of the cast, was gone but the crappy looking Deo set got a major upgrade.

Lois Lane killed Hercules!
Well, sort of. Actually Rhea killed her husband, Lar Gand, on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 17, but honestly, who didn't see that coming?
Rhea is crazy, and she's clearly willing to do anything to get her son back.
Well, I guess it is safe to say Mon-El is no longer the Prince of Daxam. Daddy's dead, so that makes him the king. Not that he has any interest in claiming his throne.
So far Rhea's unwilling to kill Mon-El, despite the fact that he is against her. It begs the question: why does she care so much?
Does she really, truly love him and this is her twisted way of showing it? Or is there another motive behind her insistence he returns to Daxam?
I understand that Rhea wants to save her home planet and get things back to the way they were, but why can't she do that herself?...

When 2016 soon comes to its grateful end, it will be a record year at the box office. Bringing up the rear are four wide studio releases and a fifth initial expansion with “Sing” (Universal), “Assassin’s Creed” (20th Century Fox), and “Passengers” (Sony) on Wednesday, “Why Him?” (20th Century Fox) on Friday, and the national release of “Fences” (Paramount) on Christmas Day.
They will all play in the wake of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (Disney), which should remain on top through the holidays. Meantime, “Moana” (Disney) and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” (Warner Bros.) will hold and thrive, with the more recent “Office Christmas Party” (Paramount) and “Collateral Beauty” (Warner Bros.) joining the fray.
Top awards contenders like “La La Land” (Lionsgate), “Manchester by the Sea” (Roadside Attractions), and “Jackie” all plan to add new dates, and could do as well or better than some studio releases.

Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn takes centre stage on the new Suicide Squad cover for Empire's December issue.
Wielding a baseball bat and gold stud-encrusted firearm, the anti-heroine looks every inch "Daddy's Lil Monster" - a reference to her supervillain squeeze The Joker, who has his very own cover right here.
"When I got the role I started looking up Harley costumes online, with my mum sitting next to me," Robbie told Empire. "She was like, 'My daughter is going to dress like a prostitute!' There are a lot of angry mothers out there!"
There'll be more furious mums this Halloween, too. Harley is apparently the most Googled-after costume for October 31 celebrations.
Not to be outdone, Robbie's co-star Will Smith also has his own Deadshot cover. Expect his gun-toting Floyd Lawton to enter the film all guns blazing.

It turns out the either the Batman vs Superman or Justice League movies could possibly be in IMAX or maybe both according to Jason's comments, which read like this: "It’s awesome as an actor to know what your future is going to be because I have children and I’ve busted my ass to put food on the table. It’s awesome knowing that I’m going to be in Justice League because my son is the biggest Batman fan and my daughter loves Wonder Woman. It’ll be cool for them to see me in something because they’re not going to be watching...
