Ethan Embry may only be 46 years old, but he has 35 years of acting credits to his name, having worked on more than 100 different projects. And now he’s set to cross paths with Ghostface, as Deadline reports that he has joined the cast of Scream 7!
Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures once intended to make a Scream 7 that would have starred Scream (2022) and Scream VI leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon at the helm. But then Ortega allegedly asked for a substantial pay raise – and as we saw when Neve Campbell dropped out of Scream VI due to a pay dispute, these pay issues don’t tend to work out. Then Barrera was fired from the project after comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war didn’t go over well with executives at Spyglass. Landon dropped out the of the project soon after.

As Mariah Carey is fond of declaring, “It’s time!”
Almost.
Thanks to the song that has become the biggest hit of her career, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” the pop diva has been inching her way back up through the record books. As of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart dated Dec. 21, the song has spent two weeks at No. 1 for the year, which brings it overall total to a whopping 16 weeks. It looks like she’s going to reclaim her title for the longest-running chart-topping single of all time. But she’ll have to wait another year or two to get there.
Carey previously owned the record for longest-running No. 1 hit with the release of “One Sweet Day,” her collab with Boyz II Men, on Nov. 14, 1995. During that era both artists were accustomed to racking up long runs at No. 1. Carey had topped the chart for eight...

Long before "All I Want for Christmas Is You" became the theme song of the holiday season, Mariah Carey had doubts about whether it should actually be released or not. Originally released in October 1994, Carey's iconic Christmas song only gets bigger and bigger with each passing year. Every year since 2019, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the holiday, typically re-entering the chart during the month of November. Carey has had an illustrious career, but there's no doubt this song is her biggest hit.
As the song has continued to become even more ingrained into popular culture, Carey has played into it, now having made a tradition of "defrosting" herself and announcing when "it's time" to start playing her Christmas music. Even if Carey wasn't one of the most achieved solo artists in history, this song alone would have carried her to success...

Before the cold temperatures fully hit for the winter — at least, depending on where you are — Netflix is steaming things up with their latest Christmas movie offering, “The Merry Gentlemen.”
Now streaming, the film is kind of like a Christmassy “Magic Mike,” starring Chad Michael Murray. He plays a bar handyman named Luke who hates city girls, but begrudgingly agrees to dance in a male revue led by city girl Ashley (Britt Robertson), when she needs to save her parents’ bar (the one he works in). He quickly finds that dancing in the show opens him up in more ways that he expected, and the two fall in love.
Naturally, that show has a whole lot of Christmas music for the men to dance to, so we’ve rounded up all the tracks for you.

Warning: This article contains Major Spoilers for Netflix's The Merry Gentlemen!
With dancing at the center of the Netflix film, The Merry Gentlemen incorporates a wide range of lesser-known holiday songs that will keep audiences entertained from start to finish. The holiday rom-com follows a professional Broadway dancer named Ashley who puts together a male dance revue to raise money to save her parents bar, The Rhythm Room. Like most holiday movies, The Merry Gentlemen is packed with music to establish the cheery mood.
Rather than incorporating the traditional Christmas music that plays on the radio every year, the Chad Michael Murray movie includes a mix of holiday-themed hip-hop, country music, and ballads that arent well known. Each song perfectly shapes the scene in which it appears, helping create an entertaining Netflix movie for adults.

Once the holiday season starts up, one Christmas song seems to dominate on radio, television, and retail store background music: Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” It’s the reason the star was sometimes been given the title of “Queen of Christmas.” Thanks to this, some fans just have to wonder how much the star makes in royalties each year.
For Some, Mariah Carey’s Singing Marks The Start Of The Holiday Season
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” was released back in 1994 as part of Carey’s holiday album, Merry Christmas. The love song was already successful upon its initial release.
However, it has since gone on to become a Christmas standard. The rise of music streaming helped make the song a popular choice for holiday playlists. It has also become something of a meme online, with videos using it to pinpoint the start of the Christmas season.

Barry Manilow is standing poolside at his Palm Springs home, a spectacular, eight-bedroom hillside villa with far-reaching views of the Coachella Valley. He’s taller than one might expect — a little over 6 feet — and rail-thin, which makes him appear even taller. Manilow is relaxed this morning, tapping one spindly leg to a tune wafting through the speakers — not one of those easy-listening grooves that made him a music superstar, but a thumping slice of techno called “Love Regenerator,” by Calvin Harris. He has an entire Spotify library of that stuff. Manilow, it turns out, loves dance music.
At 80 — he reached the milestone last June — Manilow is coming off of one of the busiest stretches of a consistent, six-decade career. In September, he played his 637th show at Las Vegas’ Westgate Resort Hotel — beating Elvis’ record of 636 performances on that very stage (when it was the Las Vegas Hilton) back in...

“Last Christmas” by Wham! has made pop history, topping the Christmas chart for the first time since it was released almost four decades ago.
The popular song, written by George Michael when he was a teenager and one half of the pop duo with his schoolfriend Andrew Ridgeley, has been a staple of the Christmas charts ever since, but never made it to the festive number spot before this year.
The song, whose official video you can watch below, was released in the winter of 1984, but was famously held off the number one spot that year by the UK’s charity anthem “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” sung by the collected efforts of Band Aid. At the time, George Michael, who also sang on the charity song, decided to donate all the profits of “Last Christmas” to the Band Aid...

The director of 1993’s enduring classic Fire in the Sky, Bloody Disgusting has learned that Robert Lieberman passed away at the age of 75 earlier this month after a battle with cancer.
Many horror fans consider Fire in the Sky to be the most terrifying alien abduction movie ever made, with one scene in particular being among the scariest in the genre’s history.
Released in theaters in 1993, Fire in the Sky was based on Travis Walton’s book The Walton Experience, which itself was based on Walton’s real-life tales of alien abduction.
In the film’s most harrowing scene, Walton (played by D.B. Sweeney) is experimented on by a group of aliens, first emerging from a slimy cocoon and then being subjected to various forms of extraterrestrial torture. It’s a sequence that once seen is never unseen, frequently popping up on lists of the scariest scenes in horror...

Did anyone see that twist coming?! Isabella's past is more layered and shocking than we thought.
One of her darkest secrets was revealed on Cruel Summer Season 2 Episode 5.
This twist is the reveal that changes everything we thought we knew of her past. This is a dangerous pattern or a massive red herring to throw us off the real suspect list.
"All I Want for Christmas" was an Isabella-heavy episode. As one of the leads in the murder mystery and the friendship, essential pieces to the puzzle were answered about this new arrival in Chatham.
I loved that this chapter was essential to the overall story; no scene or moment was wasted.
Do you trust Trevor after his surprise trip to Chatham?
I'm on the fence. Trevor gave off major suspicious vibes, like his arrival wasn't only about seeing Isabella because he had feelings for her. My gut is...

“The Bear” isn’t giving up its crown as one of TV’s most stressful shows.

Almost three decades since its release, East 17 song “Stay Another Day” has remained a regular Christmas fixture.
The track swiftly became a festive favourite after it was released in 1994, with many assuming the words, sung by Brian Harvey and his bandmates, to be about a failed relationship.
However, the song, which was written by Tony Mortimer, actually has a much deeper meaning.
Speaking to Songwriting Magazine in 2016, Mortimer revealed: “I had the melody and the chords and I was looking for a story to go on top of it.”
He decided to base the lyrics on a very sad event from his life.
“It was based on my brother’s suicide and losing someone,” he explained. “What would you do if you had one more day with a loved one?”
Mortimer continued: “Over time I started to put together the story and I wrote it in a different way to...

The co-writer behind Mariah Carey’s festive hit “All I Want for Christmas is You” has claimed her story about the song is a “tall tale”.
Producer Walter Afanasieff discussed the beloved holiday tune during Thursday’s (22 December) episode of the Hot Takes & Deep Dives podcast.
Speaking to host Jess Rothschild, Afanasieff claimed that he and Carey were “on the same page” about how to write the song. However, it wasn’t until 10 years ago that an “alternate story” was shared about the songwriting process.
“When she started to hint at the fact that, ‘Oh, I wrote that song when I was a little girl!’ But why weren’t you saying that for 12 or 13 or 15 years prior to that?” he said on the podcast. “So it just sort of developed in her mind.”
Over the years, Carey has claimed to have come up with the concept of the song when she was a child.

The co-writer and co-producer of one of the all-time great Christmas songs – Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” — can only go “ho, ho, ho” when he hears her tell the tale of how the song came to be created.
Carey collaborator Walter Afanasieff, speaking to the Hot Takes & Deep Dives with Jess Rothschild podcast, claims that Carey has invented an “alternate story” on the song’s origin.

In what has become an annual tradition, Mariah Carey has returned to number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with her holiday standard “All I Want for Christmas is You.” In the process she continues to make Billboard history, either setting or extending records along the way. Read more about this week’s Hot 100 here at Billboard.com.
Over the course of four years, “All I Want for Christmas” has now spent 10 total weeks at number-one. It’s the only song that has reached number-one during four separate chart runs. It also gives Carey the longest span of number-one hits in history. Her first chart-topper, her debut single “Vision of Love,” ruled 32 years and five months ago. It’s also the longest span for a single song at number-one (a little over three years from 2019 to 2022).

Ticketmaster has a new plan to sell the remaining Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets.
The ticketing company will reportedly use an older fan club ticketing system to sell the remaining 170,000 tickets that takes the queue out of the process.
This move comes after Ticketmaster officially cancelled the public sale for Swift’s 2023 tour.
General tickets were scheduled to go on sale in November, however, Ticketmaster announced the cancellation the day before.
“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift The Eras Tour has been cancelled,” Ticketmaster wrote on Twitter.
The news came shortly after the ticket seller said that a “staggering number of bot attacks” led to their website crashing when tickets first went on sale.
Now, as per Billboard, Ticketmaster is set to use Ticketstoday – a company owned by Ticketmaster that operates the Ticketmaster Verified Fan Request platform.

Mariah Carey brought her daughter on stage to perform a duet of ‘Away in a Manger’ on Friday (9 December).
The performance at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada was Carey’s first Christmas concert since the start of the pandemic.
Introducing her 11-year-old daughter Monroe, Carey said “This is my baby girl here”.
It’s clear that Monore has inherited her mother’s vocal capabilities, with the crowd letting out a loud roar when she began to sing.
“Eleven years ago, I got the greatest gift,” Carey said of her daughter.
“You know what, I don’t have birthdays, but the birthing day was the greatest gift ever, when I had my twins Roc and Roe, and once again I’d like to introduce you to my daughter, Monroe.”
She added: “This is our first duet. Alright, this is a beautiful, beautiful hymn called ‘Away in a Manger.’ We’ve...

Mariah Carey has risen to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts once again with “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and unseated Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” after a six-week streak at the pinnacle of the list.
In fact, it took the combined powers of Carey’s holiday classic and Christmas to knock Swift off. The top four spots were taken by Christmas songs. Following Carey was Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas.”
The fifth spot went to “Creepin'” by Metro Boomin, The Weeknd and 21 Savage followed by Swift that dropped five spots to land at No. 6 for the chart dated Dec. 17, 2022, after spending its first six weeks on top.

Prior to 1989, actor Leslie Nielsen was still best known for playing heavies and villains. Even when he appeared in comedy classics like "Airplane!" in 1980 or "Police Squad!" in 1982, his comedic power was derived from his ability to stay stonefaced while absurdity explodes around him. 1989, however, saw the release of "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!" a film adaptation of the TV show. In that film, Nielsen played the role of Lt. Frank Drebin broadly, doing a lot of mugging and pratfalls. "The Naked Gun" was an enormous hit the year it was released, and Nielsen went full-bore into slapstick roles and spoof movies after that.
During the 1990s, Nielsen appeared in a litany of gloriously silly flicks like "Spy Hard," "Wrongfully Accused," "Repossessed" (a classic), "Dracula: Dead and Loving It," two of the "Scary Movie" sequels, and many others. Not all of these films were good, but...
