Lynn Marie Latham and Bernard Lechowick left Côte ouest (1979), of which they were the head writers from 1986 to 1991, to create and produce this series. Both Côte ouest (1979) and Homefront (1991) were Lorimar Television productions.
The series takes place from 1945 to 1947.
