While many have become used to discovering old titles such as Doug, Big Time Rush, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, and The Penguins of Madagascar on Paramount+, the decision to remove these and more titles has left many feeling like their ability to relive their childhoods in a nostalgic moment is being abruptly taken away.

The streamer is doing a little housekeeping ahead of the new year, to the chagrin of kids and nostalgic adults.

Paramount has decided not to wait until spring to get a little spring cleaning done. Specifically, the company has undertaken a new round of content removals from its streamer Paramount+, and like previous culls this batch of pulled titles is heavily affecting kids and families. It’s all in the name of lowering backend streaming costs, but that’s of little comfort to customers who might be seeing their favorite titles removed.

Key Details: Arguably the most well-known title removed from Paramount+ is the 1990s cartoon “Doug.” Movies from the “Kung Fu Panda” and “Madagascar” franchise have also been pulled. Paramount+ is removing Nickelodeon titles from its library, including some big properties like Doug, Blue’s Room, and Big Time Rush.

December has seen Doug being taken off the streamer. The animated series premiered in 1991 on Nickelodeon and ran for four seasons. Doug was one of the earliest titles of the “Nicktoons” in the 1990s, which would later include shows like Rugrats, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaahh!! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold! and more.

Other titles purged from Paramount+ include My Life As A Teenage Robot and shows based on DreamWorks Animation films like Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and The Penguins of Madagascar.

AwesomenessTV, Breadwinners, Game Shakers, House of Anubis, Let’s Just Play: Go Healthy Challenge, Welcome to the Wayne, Wonder Pets, and Zoofari were also removed from Paramount+.

Those who have cut cable and relied on streaming to watch Nickelodeon shows will have to find another source, as Paramount+ has removed several major titles from the platform. ComicBook reports that some of the shows can be found on other services, but others will be harder to find.

Among the more popular Nickelodeon series removed from Paramount+ are Doug and My Life as a Teenage Robot. Doug was one of the very first “Nicktoons” ever, running from 1991 to 1994. Additionally, by the end of 2024, shows based on movie franchises like Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar will be taken down from Paramount+. For now, the Kung Fu Panda movie franchise can be streamed on various platforms and the original Madagascar movie can be found on Hulu.

Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) experienced heartbreak on Thanksgiving when the love of her life, Doug Williams, passed away in his sleep. Now, it’s time for Salem to gather to say goodbye to Doug. Look for his loved ones from near and far to gather in Salem for his memorial service.

Doug’s goodbye also coincides with Days crossing the 15,000th episode milestone. Earlier this year, the soap’s executive producer Ken Corday said that this tribute to Doug and his late portrayer, Bill Hayes, “will resonate a long time to come with our viewers.”

A Fairly OddParents sequel series is officially moving forward at Nickelodeon.

Previously, it had been leaked that a follow-up series for The Fairly OddParents was in development. Per Variety, it's now been revealed that the sequel show has officially been ordered to series at Nickelodeon. The sequel series will consist of 20 episodes set to debut on Nickelodeon in Spring 2024, followed by an international release on Netflix later in the year.

Dubbed Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, the series brings back voice actors Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Harris to reprise their respective roles as Wanda and Cosmo, the titular characters. Ashleigh Crystal Hairston also joins the show to voice the new protagonist, Hazel Wells.

Discovery begins its fifth and final season amid a bumper crop of Star Trek shows, with more on the way and the future looking very bright. That makes it the most important entry in the franchise since Star Trek: The Next Generation premiered 30 years previously. With the fifth season slated to arrive later in the spring, the fanbase has been abuzz with questions. As usual, the show has remained shrouded in mystery about a number of key details, but a few facts have been confirmed. Here's everything viewers know about of Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 so far.

Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.

According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.

The upcoming Showtime comedy series “The Curse” has cast Corbin Bernsen, Barkhad Abdi, and Constance Shulman, Variety has learned exclusively.

The show, which was picked up to series in December 2020, explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show. Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie co-created the series and will also star alongside Emma Stone.

Bernsen is known for his Emmy-nominated performance as Arnie Becker in the NBC legal drama “LA Law” as well as for playing Henry Spencer in the popular USA Network series “Psych.” He will next be seen in a season-long arc in the third season of the Showtime series “City on a Hill.” He has also starred in films like the “Major League” franchise, “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” and “Shattered.” He is repped by A3 Artists Agency and Randy James Management.
