Què t'hi jugues, Mari Pili?

Lost in translation?

This movie left me a little confused.

By all accounts this film is supposed to centre on three young women in Barcelona who are looking for love. They decide to play a game whereby they will attempt to become romantically involved with the first man that asks them their name.

This of course could set the scene for some comic moments. However, once the film gets underaway, it becomes clear that two of the women's prospective suitors are people they already know well and who are pursuing them. The other simply gets involved with a new work colleague.

The other issue was with the English subtitles, according to which some of the dialogue and interactions were very odd. Whether the film may be more rewarding for those who understand Spanish I do not know.

Overall, I would not rush to see it but at the same time if you have a penchant for light-hearted youthful European comedy with a strong element of 90s nostalgia this may do sometihng for you.
