The Torch puppet that is used for the flame throwing scenes can shoot out a flame as long as 10 feet.
The director's chair was filled by animator David Allen who had supplied the stop motion puppet effects for the original Puppet Master (1989), this, and others in the series. It would be the only completed feature film he would direct. A personal project, The Primevals (2023) remained uncompleted when he succumbed to cancer in 1999.
Four different Torch puppets were used during the production of this movie. Each puppet was designed differently for certain scenes.
(at around 1h 9 mins) Mr. Punch, the lead doll from Dolls : Les Poupées (1986), is featured in a background self in Andre Toulon's hotel room.
The Tunneler prop used in this movie had its eyes closed the entire time. The effects team put black tape on his eyes to make them look open.
