Richard Belzer plays Det. Frank Giordano. This film was filmed in the time between Seasons 2 and 3 of Homicide (1993), in which Belzer played Detective John Munch, whose supervisor was Lt. Al Giordello. The name Giordano was a play on this character's name.
At the end, Jonathan & Jennifer sing/dance to "You Were Meant for Me". That song was written by Nacio Herb Brown & Arthur Freed in 1929. Frank Morgan sang the song in "Hullabaloo" from 1940. Gene Kelly sang it in "Singin' in the Rain" from 1952.
Even though it does not open with Mark Snow's[/b theme music for the series, Snow's theme can be heard briefly inside the TV movie.
