The minds behind the manga industry might have unspoken rivalries against each other but there’s one mangaka they all look up to: Akira Toriyama. The Dragon Ball series is the blueprint of a successful shonen manga. He also inspired many to pursue their own unique art style for their series.
One of them is none other than Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. Despite being Toriyama’s rival and competitor for decades, the mangaka couldn’t help but love Dragon Ball. He was inspired by the first volume back when he was in school and continues to be a loyal fan.

Future Trunks is one of Dragon Ball Z's most fascinating characters because his arrival totally transforms fans' understanding of the Dragon Ball universe. Much like how the arrival of Raditz introduced the idea of aliens and space travel to Dragon Ball's story, the arrival of Future Trunks introduced the concept of time travel, showing that in the world of Dragon Ball, time and history could be manipulated and changed by those who had the means to do so, a detail that opened up a whole new world of adventures for Goku and his friends. Future Trunks' timeline (referred to as History 2 in most Daizenshuu guidebooks) is the same as the core timeline until Age 764. In Future Trunk's timeline, Goku uses Instant Transmission to head back to Earth,...

Goku and Krillin trained hard with Master Roshi, but a fan animation shows a peaceful car ride moment. The fan-made animation depicts a scene from Dragon Ball manga that was not used in the anime. In the current high-stakes Dragon Ball Super continuity, relaxing moments like this fan animation are rare and precious.
‘Relaxing’ might be the last way one would describe Goku and Krillin’s time training with Master Roshi in the early days of Dragon Ball canon, as Roshi ensured his two young pupils became strong enough to tangle with the most powerful people on the planet - himself included. However, just because most of their time together was grueling, doesn’t mean all of it was, and one fan animation brings to life one of those ‘relaxing’ moments.
