Not too long ago, I did a JoBlo Originals video on the 1994 Jeff Bridges/Tommy Lee Jones action flick Blown Away. In it, I mentioned that the movie had just been re-released by Kino Lorber on 4K Uhd—a cause for celebration. Or so I thought. While the movie is largely intact, two minor soundtrack substitutions have apparently been made, which you can read about here.

The movie relies heavily on the music of U2, and luckily those songs are intact. However, two other soundtrack cuts—Here’s Where the Story Ends by The Sundays and All Night Long by Aretha Franklin—have been replaced. Loni Anderson, who played the savvy, high-heeled receptionist Jennifer Marlowe on “Wkrp in Cincinnati,” died on Sunday, according to AP. She was 79.

Anderson died at a hospital in Los Angeles after a battle with a “prolonged” illness, according to her publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan.

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother,” Anderson’s family told AP in a statement.

Airing four seasons from 1978 to 1982, “Wkrp in Cincinnati” followed a has-been Ohio radio station attempting a desperate image change by swapping their typical fare of low-impact jams to chart-topping rock and roll. Anderson starred as Jennifer Marlowe, Wkrp’s empowered, quick-witted receptionist. Known for using her womanly charms to dismiss her boss, Mr. Carlson, she often served as a reliable anchor for the station, getting things done despite her incompetent co-workers. She earned two Emmy nods and three Golden Globe nominations for the role.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set almost 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. TMZ obtained a copy of Keisha‘s death certificate and it lists her cause of death as “alcoholic liver disease” and she had been living with the disease for years.

“Acute renal failure,” which is a symptom of anorexia, was another cause listed.

The death certificate reveals that Keisha was laid to rest in Los Angeles on December 20, two weeks after she passed.

Carrie Underwood is back for her Las Vegas residency, Reflection.

Reflection began in December 2021 and, due to popular demand, has been extended every year since then.

Speaking about her first residency, Underwood expressed their excitement on her website.

“I love being on the road and coming to the fans where they live but it will also be fun to get to do multiple shows in one place where people will be able to come to get that concert experience and have some fun in Las Vegas at the same time,” she said.

Underwood is one of the most successful country singers, having received eight Grammies, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, 17 American Music Awards, nine Country Music Association Awards, seven Teen Choice Awards, five CMT Artists of the Year awards and 23 CMT Music Awards.

Following the Canada’s Drag Race producer’s acquisition of Canadian compatriot MarbleMedia in August, the as-yet-unnamed production and distribution business has set out its leadership teams under Co-Presidents Mark Bishop and Matthew Hornburg, we can reveal.

Bishop and Hornburg previously led MarbleMedia, which has production and sales operations in Canada and the UK. Merging their business with Michael MacMillan’s Blue Ant has created Canada’s latest major content business, the name of which will soon be unveiled.

Here’s a rundown of the new structure: Hornburg’s unscripted development will see Jennifer Harkness taking the factual entertainment development reins from Blue Ant’s LA office. Over in Toronto, Kelsey Espensen (Best in Miniature) will lead unscripted entertainment and Steve Gamester (Inside the Statue Wars) heads specialist factual development.

“The Voice” season 24 kicks into high gear on Tuesday, November 21 when the four teams led by veteran coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as well as reigning champion Niall Horan and first-timer Reba McEntire enter The Playoffs. After the blind auditions, battle rounds and three-way knockouts, the coaches have narrowed their teams down to five and will add a sixth who is yet-to-be-revealed as a wild card pick.

As of now, Team Legend consists of: Kaylee Shimizu and Lila Forde, both four-chair turns John won over in the blinds; Mac Royals, stolen from Team Reba in the battles; Kristen Brown, stolen from Team Gwen in the knockouts; and Taylor Deneen, saved by John in the knockouts.

Jennifer Lee, Chief Creative Officer at Disney Animation, confirmed this afternoon that work has quietly begun on a third edition in the company’s Frozen film franchise during a keynote session at the London Film Festival (Lff).

Lee — who was a writer and director on the first two Frozen films — was tightlipped about any specific details regarding the threequel, including timeframes and production status, but told the Lff audience that she is “blown away” by the work the studio already has in the can.

“All I’ll say is that last week, they carved out time for me to work with the creative team on it. And I’m blown away,” Lee said. “I’m so excited. I don’t know what I’m doing on it yet. I might be doing nothing.”

“The Voice” just can’t quit Blake Shelton.

Four months after leaving NBC’s reality TV show, the country coach’s shadow still looms large as it aired its Season 24 premiere on Monday, September 25. Blake was mentioned a whopping 16 times during the two-hour opener, with current coaches John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire seemingly feeling “Lonely Tonight” because the “God’s Country” singer isn’t still buzzing around the set like a “Honey Bee.”

Poland’s arthouse cinemas are refusing to show a government propaganda spot before each screening of Agnieszka Holland’s The Green Border.

The move comes after Poland’s deputy interior minister, Blazej Pobozy, announced last week that a 30-second spot entitled “Safe Poland” would be distributed to the country’s arthouse cinemas to be shown before what he described as “this disgusting lampoon.”

Director Antoine Fuqua is teasing Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic he is set to work on and says he’s “blown” away by the “uncanny” resemblance between the lead star and his real-life uncle, the King of Pop.

Jaafar Jackson, who is the son of Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson, will play the iconic singer in the Lionsgate biopic.

“It’s uncanny how much he’s like Michael,” Fuqua told EW in a recent interview. “Sounds like him, dances like him, sings. It’s really uncanny. Graham King, who is a fantastic producer, found him, and introduced him to me, and I was blown away.”

Although the film is on hold due to the writers and actors strike, Fuqua said the biopic will retell Michael’s story “as we know it” and would tackle some of the controversies the singer was involved in during his lifetime.

Carrie Underwood has announced an extension to her Las Vegas residency. Due to overwhelming demand, fans can now see the country artist on three additional dates in December 2023.

The residency celebrates Underwood’s career highlights and greatest hits over her 15 years as an award-winning singer.

This comes after her Denim & Rhinestones tour finished in March 2023. She restarted her Las Vegas residency back in June and will continue starting in September for six nights.

Canadian production-distribution powerhouse Blue Ant Media, the producers of “Canada’s Drag Race,” has acquired “Blown Away” outfit MarbleMedia — a deal that merges two of Canada’s most global-facing industry players.

The acquisition sees Toronto-headquartered Blue Ant Media merge its production and distribution operations with MarbleMedia into one studio and rights business. Blue Ant Media boss Michael MacMillan, the former CEO of Alliance Atlantis, tells Variety that discussions have taken place for around a year. “Neither company needed to do this,” he says, “but it seemed like a really smart idea for us all.”

August 2023 sees the release of two major football documentaries on HBO and Max. The first is the premiere of Hard Knocks on Aug. 10. The new season of long-running NFL training camp docuseries will center on the New York Jets, new employers of legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On Aug. 23, Max will air the aptly named Bs High. The doc tells the stranger-than-fiction story of high school football team Bishop Sycamore, which pulled off one of the more notable sports scams you’re likely to ever hear about.

Not of the football variety but in keeping with the North American sports theme will be season 2 of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty on Aug.

The co-ceo of DC Studios sat down on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, where he discussed his plans to rebrand the Dcu in movies and television. Gunn confirmed that he will turn his attention to the Viola Davis-led Waller series and Peacemaker Season 2 for Max after he completes work directing Superman: Legacy. As far as a third Suicide Squad installment is concerned, however, Gunn gave a firm "no."

Even before he was announced to lead DC Studios alongside producer Peter Safran, Gunn dampened hopes for Suicide Squad 3 when he addressed his plans with The Playlist despite discussions with Warner Bros. about the threequel. "Yeah, we’ve talked about it," Gunn said. "But the honest truth is, I just have so many hours in a day to work on stuff.

DC Studios reportedly had no reservations about casting David Corenswet in Superman: Legacy despite the actor's resemblance to Man of Steel's Henry Cavill.

According to Above the Line, inside sources claimed that while there were some concerns that Corenswet looked too similar to Cavill, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn had no problems with the resemblance. Cavill previously starred as Clark Kent/Superman in the DC Extended Universe, first appearing as the hero in 2013's Man of Steel. Corenswet will take over the role in DC Studios' upcoming Superman: Legacy.

Corenswet bears more than a passing resemblance to Cavill, but the similarities do not end there. Like Cavill at the time of his casting, Corenswet is also a relatively unknown actor. According to The Hollywood Reporter, after Warner Bros., DC Studios and writer/director James Gunn have settled on who will portray the Man of Steel and his love interest, Lois Lane, in the hotly-anticipated Superman reboot, the focus will shift on casting the supporting players, which include "members of a supergroup named the Authority." The team's inclusion in Superman: Legacy is tied to part of the upcoming film revolving around "Superman joining a world in which superheroes already exist." At this time, it is unknown if the whole team will appear in Legacy or just select members of The Authority.

Adult Swim has released the anime-inspired intro for its upcoming DC animated series, My Adventures with Superman.

The 30-second intro begins with Superman flying through the air and breaking the fourth wall to wink at the audience. The intro then introduces Superman's civilian identity, Clark Kent, as well as the show's two other leads -- Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen -- and an assortment of villains the trio will presumably face across the first season. My Adventures with Superman is developed by Jake Wyatt and produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios.
