Penn Badgley Confronts His Murderous ‘You’ Character In Hilarious TikTok: ‘Don’t Kill People!’
Image
Penn Badgley is offering some guidance to his “You” alter ego Joe Goldberg to help the murderous stalker become a little less homicidal.

The “Gossip Girl” alum took to TikTok to share a hilarious video in which he does double duty as both himself and Joe, writing “My Brother & Me” in the caption.

“Ok, this should be a pretty simple subject,” Badgley says. “So, repeat after me: Don’t kill people.”

Sitting across from him, Joe (i.e. Badgley wearing different clothing and a baseball cap), complies.

“Put ’em in a cage!” Joe declares, thinking that nailed it.

“Ok. Well, let’s just try it again,” responds Badgley. “Don’t. Kill. People.”

“Stalk ’em first?” Joe queries.

Newswire: Jay Z to produce movie version of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights
Back before Hamilton and his brief cameo in Seeso’s My Brother, My Brother And Me show, Lin-Manual Miranda was the man behind the hit Broadway show In The Heights. Back in June, we reported that the Weinstein Company was developing a movie adaptation of that musical, with Jem And The Holograms’ Jon M. Chu possibly set to direct, and now it looks like that project is actually moving forward. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jay Z has just signed on to co-produce the film, so hopefully he’ll be able to make sure it doesn’t turn out as bad as Jem And The Holograms.

It sounds like that news is pretty fresh, though, so the actual In The Heights movie is probably still fairly far off.

‘A Dog’s Purpose’ Review: Canine Tear-Jerker Fails the Sniff Test
Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson in Marley & Moi (2008)
A Nicholas Sparks movie crossed with a Blue Buffalo dog food commercial, “A Dog’s Purpose” was perhaps best described by Griffin McElroy on the “My Brother, My Brother and Me” podcast, based solely on the trailer: “What’s everybody’s favorite part of ‘Marley and Me’? The end of it. So what if we just made a movie that was the end of ‘Marley and Me,’ over and over, forever?” Did I shed some tears over the doggy demises in this movie? Admittedly, yes. Does that reaction make the movie any less shameless for relying upon death to create poignancy?...

'The '90s Are All That': TeenNick tells us what's next. Which '90s shows do you want to see return to TV?
Kenan Thompson
This week, TeenNick launched its “The ’90s Are All That” midnight-2 a.m. block to strong ratings. The retro roster inspired a wave of nostalgia in college-age and older viewers, who remembered growing up under the influence of the fashion sense of Clarissa Darling, the good-kid-done-wrong ethos of Doug Funnie, and the slapstick stylings of Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. But beyond Kenan, Kel, Clarissa, and Doug, who will be next to to burn the midnight oil?

TeenNick does not yet have set end date in mind for the block, though it has already confirmed that it will start introducing...

Milk Carton Alert – Cousin Skeeter (and other black tween shows)
Where are the DVD releases for Cousin Skeeter, My Brother And Me and The Famous Jett Jackson? If you were pre-teen or teen in the 90s then these shows may (or may not) have been on your radar. Once upon a time Jurnee Smollett had a TV show called On Our Own that starred her alongside her siblings. It was short-lived but it was cute at the time. Are these shows getting played on TV Land, Bet, TVOne or any of the other black cable stations? Or are they lost in the ether of Hollywood doesn’t care about 90s black nostalgia?

Of all the shows mentioned above, The Famous Jett Jackson is probably the most successful of black tween shows during the 90s (this is pre- That’s So Raven). The Disney Channel even aired a made-for-tv movie giving Jett Jackson a proper farewell. Maybe these shows are too obscure,...
