Regulators, mount up! Young Guns, the beloved Western series that began in 1988, is finally back after 35 years, as star Emilio Estevez officially announced yesterday that Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive will film in New Mexico. The best part? Estevez will not only be returning as Billy the Kid in front of the camera, but he'll also be directing the latest installment, which will also feature original cast member Lou Diamond Phillips, and Christian Slater, who appeared in Young Guns 2 in 1990.
Estevez made the announcement yesterday during Film and Media Day at the State Capitol in Santa Fe along with New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. "The original Young Guns films showcased New Mexico's stunning landscapes to the world and helped establish our state as a premier filming destination," she said, adding:
Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive will add to this legacy, further solidifying New Mexico’s place in the national film industry.

Alex Garland is a fan of The Last of Us. The filmmaker recently revealed that he believes the HBO drama series to be better than his 2002 post-apocalyptic zombie movie 28 Days Later.
Garland shared his opinion during a discussion with The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann for Sony's Creator to Creator series. "Let me say this: The Last of Us is better than 28 Days [Later]," Garland said (via GamesRadar+). "The Last of Us is better than 28 Days, or at least the writing is. I'm not going to talk about directing, that would be a silly thing. So not that. I know what 28 Days is, I know what I did. I know what that process was. The thing about The Last of Us, I was like, 'Oh, this is so much more sophisticated and moving. It was moving. I'm not dissing 28 Days, I'm very proud of it. It's a nice part of my life.

Whether it be by utter obliteration, acts of deities and demons, or merely the ruination of the environment for human habitation, the world's end has fascinated filmmakers for as long as special effects have allowed it to be visualized. In general, audiences are drawn to see such mass destruction at a fictional remove as well, though some tales of the end times can hit a bit too close to home to feel good as escapism.
Not every movie on this list actually depicts the end, but they all, in some way, reckon with it. What do the characters do with their imminent fate? What would you do? Most of these films ask the questions; others might use the demise of the globe as a surprise twist. It's Thanksgiving week! But for some of us who would rather hide in a bedroom or in the car away from family and need entertainment, Netflix has you covered with a few new movies and shows. There is a new true crime documentary, a new holiday movie starring Lindsay Lohan, and a new holiday baking competition series based on a well-known favorite.
First up this week is Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey. It hits Netflix on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024 and you can probably guess what it's about. If you're a certain age, this feels like a lot. We've grown up hearing about this case over and over again. What can a documentary bring to light that hasn't already been said?
That said, this documentary series is about the murder of JonBenét Ramsey and the subsequent accusations made about who her murderer could possibly be. Because she was a child beauty queen,...

Danny Boyles 28 Days Later helped revolutionize the zombie genre for a new generation and kickstarted an era of clever tales of the undead that turned the genre's conventions on their head. While the gritty and realistic world seen in the post-apocalyptic landscapes of 28 Days Later led to many more darkly serious zombie movies throughout the 2000s and beyond, there were also plenty of uniquely hilarious zombie comedies that deconstructed the conventions of this style of filmmaking. From fast-moving zombie nightmares to self-referential, tongue-in-cheek creatures, the genre has had many creative releases in recent years.
Many of the best zombie movies ever made played with genre conventions and added something new to the style. With zombies often acting as smart metaphors for real-world issues, its fascinating how clever writers, directors, and actors have been able to provide a unique spin on well-worn stories of post-apocalyptic worlds and survivors seeking refuge.

One of the fastest-rising Hollywood stars from the past 10 years is Aaron Taylor-Johnson. His quick wit and penchant for action make him the perfect addition to a major franchise, while his detailed character work and captivating presence are a wonderful addition to even the smallest of indie flicks. Showing no signs of slowing down, Taylor-Johnson is set to appear in two major upcoming projects Robert Eggers' Nosferatu and the 28 Days Later sequel, 28 Years Later.

For decades, zombie apocalypse movies were defined almost exclusively by the works of director George A. Romero, whose 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead effectively launched the genre. Other filmmakers have followed in his footsteps -- particularly in Italy, where zombie movies thrived in the 1970s and 1980s -- but no one really challenged Romero's work for the supremacy of the genre. Zombie apocalypse films thus tended to follow the rules that his movies set forth, with mild variations at most. That changed in a big way with the release of Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later in 2002.
In one fell swoop, it upended the zombie genre and launched a decade-long renaissance that moved beyond Romero's considerable shadow at long last. Its success resulted in a number of new classics, including the Resident Evil and Walking Dead franchises, as well as Edgar Wright's sublime near-parody Shaun of the Dead.

The following article contains mentions of suicide, rape, and spoilers from Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6, "Chapter Sixteen: Hell House"
Bloody Rose's identity was revealed in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6. "Redemption House" recreated Liars' past traumas, like Davie Adams' suicide. Bloody Rose gave Imogen a test at the hour's end.
Last time on Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, Bloody Rose targeted Noa, so, Imogen and Tabby were the only two who hadn't endured one of the villain's tests. However, that changed by the shocking end of episode 6. Throughout the first five episodes, the slasher teen drama series had been leading up to the moment the girls (and the audience) learned who Bloody Rose is in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. Thankfully, the writers didn't keep them waiting any longer, as the villain's identity was revealed in episode 6.

Throughout her illustrious run in the realm of music, Taylor Swift has cemented herself as one of, if not the biggest pop icon of the 21st century and has amassed an enormous following. But like every massive fandom, a part of the Swifties community is toxic as well, who often go out of their way to retaliate against anyone who dares to speak ill of the Cats star.
Michael J. Fox, whose opinion of Swift has changed drastically over the years, once found himself amidst heavy fire from the Swifties in 2013 following his initial remarks on the pop icon.

Danny Boyle's return for 28 Years Later is exciting, but Nia DaCosta is reportedly in talks to direct the sequel after that. DaCosta's success with Candyman showcases her ability to infuse horror with depth, making her an ideal choice for the next installment. After The Marvels' failure, returning to the more familiar realm of horror might be DaCosta's best career move.
Although Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are returning for the upcoming 28 Years Later, one director's $77 million horror hit proves the franchise already has a great replacement for future installments. With a full 28 Years Later trilogy planned, the beloved zombie horror franchise will have the opportunity to appeal to a new generation of moviegoers after the previous release, 28 Weeks Later, in 2007. It is no news that Cillian Murphy is indeed one of the finest actors in all of the entertainment industry. Renowned for his epic superhit series Peaky Blinders and his recent nuclear blockbuster Oppenheimer, the 47-year-old Hollywood heartthrob has presented his fans with some of the most cinematic experiences of all time. Despite that, Murphy doesn’t watch his own works.
Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders
Though such has become the trend that many other actors and actresses follow as well, Cillian Murphy sticks strictly to this act of not watching any of the films that he stars in. Daniel Dae Kim addresses the likelihood of a Lost reboot. Kim plays Jin in the classic sci-fi survival drama, which ran for six seasons from 2004–2010. In addition to Kim, Lost also starred Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Jorge Garcia, Yunjin Kim, Josh Holloway, and Terry O’Quinn.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Kim speaks about the chances of a Lost reboot. When asked about a Lost reboot, Kim responded that it “depends on the creators and their vision.” Despite not having a definitive answer on the reboot, the actor implied that he would return to the reboot if there were to be one, saying that “if they come calling, I’ll pick up the phone.” Check out the full quote from Kim below:
That's not up to me. It depends on the creators and their vision, because that's what Lost was always based on. And if they come calling, I'll pick up the phone.

28 Years Later could reflect the real-world impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, offering a cinematic metaphor for dealing with the aftermath of a global crisis. The budget for 28 Years Later is over seven times larger than the original film, giving the filmmakers a larger scope to explore the spread of the Rage Virus on a global scale. The sequel will have to stand out in a genre that has been influenced by zombie stories like The Walking Dead. It will need to be inventive and unique to exceed expectations.
28 Years Later, the upcoming entry in the 28 Days Later series, is shaping up to be a far different movie than its predecessors. The original film helped reinvigorate the zombie sub-genre (even if the Rage-infected hordes ravaging Great Britain aren't technically undead). This led to a radically transformed horror landscape in 21st-century pop culture. Little is known about the film's plot...

Manifest's series finale, like Lost's ending, received criticism for its underwhelming explanations and unanswered questions, disappointing fans who were drawn to the show's mysteries. Viewers' high expectations and the show's abundance of cryptic messages set Manifest up for failure, as it was impossible to satisfy every question and address every subplot. While both Manifest and Lost managed to solve their biggest mysteries, they also created new ones, leaving room for potential revivals or further exploration of their respective universes.
With its many mysteries and supernatural elements, Manifest succeeded at becoming the next Lost — and that may not be a good thing. The NBC drama opened with a similar setup to the ABC series, throwing its characters into chaos after a flight gone awry. Unlike the passengers from Lost, who found themselves stranded on a remote island, those aboard Manifest's Flight 828 landed to a more mind-boggling predicament. Unbeknownst to them,...

Season 3 of The O.C. was disappointing for fans, as the writers abandoned successful storylines and introduced unnecessary new characters. The introduction of these new love interests caused conflict in Ryan and Marissa's relationship and didn't provide enough character development. The shocking twist of killing off Marissa in season 4 brought about refreshing changes and a more mature tone, redeeming the show from the downfall of season 3.
Although The O.C. is fun to binge for the nostalgia and memories, some fans have a really difficult time getting through season 3 as there were many storylines there that they hated. Although The O.C. is fun to binge for the nostalgia and memories, some fans have a really difficult time getting through season 3 as there were many storylines there that they hated. "28 Years Later" needs Danny Boyle and Alex Garland involved to capture the character-driven approach and emotional depth of the original film. The inclusion of the original "28 Days Later" cast, including Cillian Murphy, would provide closure to their storylines and add authenticity to the sequel. Positive updates from Boyle, Garland, and Murphy suggest that a sequel is likely and that it has the potential to match or surpass the success of the first film.
28 Years Later will have to reinstate three important elements from Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later to be successful. Over two decades have passed since 28 Days Later's release, but the movie's unique take on the overly saturated zombie genre still ranks it among the most creative and hard-hitting horror movies of the early aughts. While audiences in the U.K. received their first glimpse of a new type of zombie film on November 1, 2002, it wouldn't be until June 27, 2003, that moviegoers in the United States would have the chance to experience the "rage" of director Danny Boyle's post-apocalyptic horror film, 28 Days Later.
Written by Alex Garland, the movie reinvigorated the zombie genre of horror, and it would go on to influence future efforts, including the recently released popular HBO series, The Last of Us. 28 Days Later set a new standard by respecting films of the past while also giving the genre a necessary upgrade to terrify a new generation of moviegoers. Garland's script took some of its inspiration from George R. Romero's 1968 zombie genre classic, Night of the Living Dead, while also giving the story a post-apocalyptic twist.

You know, there didn’t need to be a sequel to 28 Days Later. The influential zombie movie by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland had a pretty definitive ending, with the rage virus seemingly burnt out in the UK and help coming from overseas.
But then came the surprisingly solid sequel 28 Weeks Later in 2007, in which director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo told an interesting Gulf War allegory starring Robert Carlyle, Idris Elba, and Jeremy Renner. That’s when we all started asking, “What about 28 Years Later?”
We still have a way to go before we hit the 28th anniversary of the 2002 release of 28 Days Later, but Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland are ready to start planning. In an oral history of the movie published by Inverse, Garland revealed that “a few years ago an idea materialized in my head for what would be really 28 Years Later. Danny always liked the idea.

Selling Sunset season 6 brought out a new side of Chrishell Stause, the star who's been with the series since the beginning. While it's always been clear that Chrishell is the star, she's typically been met by an equal on the other side of the drama. For the first five seasons, it was Selling Sunset's original villain Christine Quinn holding Chrishell down. After her departure at the end of Selling Sunset season 5, it became clear that there was going to be a huge shift in the dynamics at The Oppenheim Group, especially when it came to filling Christine's role on the show.
While many have seen Chrishell for who she is, watching her re-emerge on Selling Sunset season 6 outside the nice girl stereotype was refreshing. Rather than fighting for what she thinks is right, Chrishell spent nearly the entirety of the season trying to defend her peace, which she's finally...

An Oscar winner for his documentary Man on Wire and the filmmaker behind 2014’s awards juggernaut The Theory of Everything, James Marsh has been away from the big screen for a few years (his last project was the 2018 heist film King of Thieves). But he comes to Cannes with two buzzy projects in the market. In Night Boat to Tangier, he takes on Kevin Barry’s New York Times best-seller with a cast including Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson and Ruth Negga.
That film hasn’t shot yet, but Marsh has already completed a rather different feature, Dance First. A sweeping account of the life of literary icon Samuel Beckett (the title is taken from his ethos, “Dance first, think later”), the film sees Gabriel Byrne as the Nobel Prize winner in a story that covers the many aspects of his younger years: from Parisian bon vivant to WWII resistance fighter and philandering husband.

There once was a moment when playing the villain in a Batman movie was a status symbol in Hollywood. Jack Nicholson famously was paid in the ballpark of $80 to $90 million after his back-end deal to do the original Batman movie of 1989; Jim Carrey was officially marked as an A-lister when he got cast as the Riddler opposite Tommy Lee Jones, who was fresh off his Oscar win for The Fugitive (1993), in Batman Forever (1995); and Pulp Fiction’s Uma Thurman beat out Julia Roberts at the peak of her America’s Sweetheart superstardom to be Poison Ivy to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin (1997).
That kind of glitzy—and what some might call stunt—casting came to an end with Batman Begins (2005). As the first hard reset of a popular movie franchise in the 21st century, this is the film that put “reboot” in the lexicon with Christian Bale assuming a brooding,...

Meredith Grey performed her “last” surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital during the winter premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” on Thursday. But Ellen Pompeo’s final episode as a series regular felt more like a “see you later,” leaving plenty of questions unanswered and the door open for her character’s return.
ABC promoted the episode, titled “I’ll Follow the Sun,” as Meredith’s big farewell to Seattle. Previews for the hour paid homage to the many traumatic moments, goodbyes, accomplishments and near-death experiences the doctor has procured across 19 seasons and over 400 episodes, but the hour itself played more like real life — with a dose of romantic comedy frustration.
The installment began as Meredith and her children arrived at the hospital for her last day on the job, in the aftermath of her longtime Seattle home sustaining damage in a fire. In a conversation with love interest Dr. Nick Marsh...

Despite being over 11 years old, Skyrim is still a game that continues to impress its players with all the details and secret areas, although some of those locations can be disappointing. Covering all the holds and every dungeon in a single playthrough would be an almost impossible task, so it's no surprise that even now, new places, side quests, and hidden bosses are still being discovered. While some of these are well worth the hunt to find, others aren’t worth the trouble.
Skyrim isn’t the biggest Elder Scrolls map, as that honor goes to the Elder Scrolls Online, but that doesn't mean the snowy province isn't packed full of interesting sights. While no hidden location in Skyrim is ever completely boring, some are only worth visiting once. Here are some easily missed places that aren’t worth a revisit when starting another Skyrim playthrough.

Julian (Dominic West) endures the actions of a performer named Oleg (Terry Notary), in Ruben Ostlund’s satire The Square. Photo courtesy of Magnolia Pictures (c).
Ruben Ostlund’s satire The Square was Cannes’ Palme D’Or winner this year but this ambitious film is a decidedly unusual winner. Ostlund’s previous film, Force Majeure, explored a single morally-bad choice in a caustically comic way. The Square turns a satiric eye on modern art, contemporary society, political correctness, homelessness, sex, income inequality and more, although it often focuses on the subject of trust. The Square, partly in English and partly in Swedish with subtitles, is sly, darkly satiric and sometimes laugh-out-loud funny film, when it is not just downright disturbing. This is not a film for everyone, but it has rewards for those up for its wild ride.
The story revolves around Christian (Claes Bang), the curator at a modern art museum in Sweden.

Maggie Gyllenhaal needs some room to breathe. That's as true within The Deuce as it is about it. In this week's episode – "I See Money" – the series star's sex-worker Candy feels increasingly trapped by the emotional restraints and physical discomforts of her job. But as a character within the larger narrative, she's so hemmed in by the show's countless other characters, who are crowded out by each other in turn, that she's left with little to do but plod from one scene to the next until the closing credits roll.

Usher swung by Alfred Coffee in West Hollywood on Friday — more than a week after three individuals announced they were suing him for failing to warn them he reportedly had herpes before having sex.
The “Yeah!” singer looked casual, comfortable and unfazed in a pink shirt, shorts and matching white sneakers. He accessorized the look with dark shades, silver jewelry, and a camouflage bucket hat.
In July, it was revealed Usher paid a female celebrity stylist who claimed she contracted herpes from him $1.1 million to settle a 2012 lawsuit. According to court papers filed by the woman and published by Radar Online.

Mel B was granted a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband, Stephen Belafonte, on Monday, after alleging that Belafonte beat and threatened her throughout their nearly 10-year marriage.
