Bridget Fonda in Nom de code: Nina (1993)

Trivia

Nom de code: Nina

Edit
Bridget Fonda was cast after Jodie Foster and Winona Ryder turned down the lead role.
Filmed in sequence. Director John Badham thought this would help Bridget Fonda portray the evolution of her character.
Titled "Nikita" during filming, producer Art Linson and Warner Brothers settled on a new title during post-production that Warner Brothers owned, "The Specialist". However, two months before the film was to be released, Linson was contacted by Warner Brothers executive Bruce Berman, and told that the title would be changed to "Point of No Return". Warner Brothers gave the working title to an upcoming Steven Seagal vehicle, which was yet-to-be-filmed. Ultimately, that movie, L'expert (1994), ended up starring Sylvester Stallone after Seagal dropped out.
In Europe and Asia, the film was retitled "The Assassin", after it "underperformed" in the United States with its original title. Warner Brothers felt the new title would help sell the action element.
The film's trailer is scored entirely with music from Nikita (1990), of which it is a remake.

Cameo

Michael W. Watkins: The movie's cinematographer plays the last guard at the gate during the escape.

Director Cameo

John Badham: Room service waiter.
