Heading into the 81st Golden Globe Awards, legendary performer Harrison Ford is eligible for two different small screen prizes – Best TV Drama Actor and Best TV Supporting Actor – thanks to his respective turns on the inaugural seasons of “1923” and “Shrinking.” These possible dual bids would come 22 years after he was named the 48th recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille career achievement award and make him a proper Golden Globe competitor for the first time since 1996. Given the fact that 33 other DeMille awardees will have preceded him in subsequently landing regular nominations, it only makes sense to analyze those instances to determine just how great his chances of victory at the 2024 ceremony really are.
Until “1923” premiered on Paramount Plus last December, the 81-year-old Ford had never appeared in a regular capacity on a TV program of any kind. Within six weeks, however, he was officially a multi-series star showcasing...

They say this is Russell Tovey on set with Being Human, but the ear is positively tiny!
David Burtka has a role in the new Harold and Kumar movie that's about to start filming. This could get interesting, as his boyfriend Neil Patrick Harris is in the film playing a hyper-heterosexual version of Neil Patrick Harris. David Burtka was also on a panel at Outfest talking about being an out actor in Hollywood. He said a lot of great things, but the one that I like best was when he talked about being authentic in life to give a great performance on film: I know a lot of actors who are still in the closet who think it’s going to help them. It...

If best friend Katherine Heigl is busy with babies and the big screen, Tr Knight, the actor who played the late and often-missed George O'Malley on Grey's Anatomy, is invading Broadway. After starring in a production of Parade last year, the 37-year-old is making a u-turn and will appear in the Broadway debut of David Mamet's A Life in the Theatre.

Knight Joining Stewart On Broadway
Former Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight is returning to Broadway - he will join Sir Patrick Stewart in a revival of David Mamet play A Life In The Theater.
Knight was set to hit the New York stage earlier this year in a production of Lend Me A Tenor, but he reportedly dropped out of the musical days before the official casting announcement in December and was replaced by The Hangover star Justin Bartha.
But the actor has now signed up to star opposite Stewart in A Life In The Theater, which is expected to begin previews in August before its official opening in September.
The opening marks the first time the play, about the relationship between a budding actor (Knight) and his mentor (Stewart), has appeared on Broadway.
Knight has previously starred in Broadway productions of Noises Off in 2001, and Tartuffe in 2003.

The Broadway season is kicking into high gear. Though two new shows will be closing prematurely this weekend -- there was no box office miracle for The Miracle Worker or the Dame Edna-Michael Feinstein collaboration All About Me - the next month brings a steady stream of openings. (And I'm not even counting the announcement that Sherie Rene Scott's autobiographical musical Everyday Rapture will be filling the Megan Mullally-size hole left in the Roundabout Theatre's slate by the cancellation of Lips Together, Teeth Apart.) This week, the artistic biodrama Red opened to mostly plaudits, including an...

Stewart Takes On Mamet On Broadway
British actor Sir Patrick Stewart is returning to Broadway - he's to star in award-winning playwright David Mamet's next New York stage production this autumn.
The X-Men star will begin rehearsing for his role in the revival of A Life In The Theatre on 23 August, according to producer Jeffrey Richards.
A Life In the Theatre, about the relationship between an older performer and a younger actor, was first seen in Chicago, Illinois in 1977 and was later performed off-Broadway.
Neil Pepe, who took charge of the 2008 Broadway revival of Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, will direct. Stewart's younger co-star has yet to be cast.
The veteran star was last seen on Broadway in 2008, playing the title character in Macbeth.

Recently, casting director Amanda Mackey told Back Stage that the key to casting the leads in "The Men Who Stare at Goats" was finding actors who could age believably, since the film spans several decades. Of course, such opportunities are few and far between; mostly you'll be cast close to your own age.But there is much to be learned from playing characters older than yourself when the chance arises. Also, once you are in fact older, there's much to value in your newfound understanding of how to play certain roles. To hear older actors' perspectives on aging and how it affects their craft, I made a few calls. This column will talk about how men face the issue. We'll have a companion column about women in February.Lear at 60Austin Pendleton played King Lear nine years ago, when he was 60, and he says now he'd love to revisit it.
