Jet Li was one of the most prolific action stars of the 1990s, making a slew of brilliant martial arts and action films back-to-back with great directors. Now, some of his best (and also more difficult to find) films of the era are getting a 4K reissue on digital platforms thanks to Shout! Studios. The five Jet Li classics being re-released are: Tai Chi Master (1993), The Legend (1993), The Legend 2 (1993), Fist of Legend (1994), and The Bodyguard from Beijing (1994). The films become available in 4K on Feb. 18, 2025, through the usual digital platforms. They will also be available together in a digital bundle for the first time on Apple TV and Fandango at Home. The press release from Shout! Studios states:
"The cinema of Hong Kong in the ’80s and ’90s, particularly Jet Li’s martial arts films, is renowned for its thrilling action choreography, unique visual styles, and engaging storytelling. Behold...

Corey Yuen, the actor, action choreographer and director of “So Close” and “Doa: Dead or Alive,” died in 2022, the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers confirmed to Variety.
Local and English-language reports say that Yuen died of Covid-19 on an undisclosed date in Hong Kong. He was born on Feb. 15, 1951 as Ying Gang-ming.
His death was initially kept private at the request of his family. But on Monday, the news was revealed on Chinese-language social media by fellow action star Jackie Chan, who paid tribute to Yuen and others in the industry who had died.
Yuen and Chan were contemporaries and trained together with Sammo Hung Yuen Wah, Yuen Qiu and Yuen Biao at the Peking Opera School. A number of films will become available to stream in June, including the magnificent Nightcrawler, Martin Scorsese’s somewhat underrated The Aviator, Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater, and one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final films, A Most Wanted Man. Additionally, last year’s critically hailed but way underseen Beyond the Lights will be available to stream, as will Transformers: Age of Extinction if you enjoy having your senses assaulted. On the TV side, Season 2 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Scandal Season 4 will become available, as will the third season of the Netflix Original Series Orange Is the New Black and the first season of Sense8, from creators Lana and Andy Wachowski. Following are some supplemental sections featuring notable director & actor teams that did not meet the criteria for the main body of the article. Some will argue that a number of these should have been included in the primary section but keep in mind that film writing on any level, from the casual to the academic, is a game of knowledge and perception filtered through personal taste.

When asked about the in-development sequel I Am Legend 2, which he was reported to be a producer on, Will Smith recently clarified:
“Producers are working on it. I’m not actually working on it. If it’s great, I’m into it.”
So they’d better come up with a take that’s legend…wait for it…dary.
Come to think of it: Barney Stinson fighting vampires in a post-apocalyptic future? Sold. They should cast Neil Patrick Harris immediately. And Will Smith can be in it too.
And I Am Legend...Wait For It...Dary could include a song which goes "The nightmare's real / Doctor Le-gend-wait for it-dary is here / To make vampires quake in fear / So hail to the awesome..." You know, for the Doctor Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog fans who are still waiting on tenterhooks for Doctor Horrible 2. That is, basically all of them. What's a tenterhook?
