Image
There is something magnetic about the summer, and ours is about to get a lot more exciting, seeing that the third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is about to release. Based on Jenny Han’s beloved YA trilogy, it captures that magic with more than just sand and sea. At the heart of this tender, sun-drenched story is a girl named Belly, torn between two brothers and the weight of growing up.

While two seasons of the show brought us an unforgettable love triangle that felt like an emotional tug-of-war between Lola Tung’s Belly and Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher, adding to the theme is the series’ brilliant soundtrack. The coming-of-age drama features some brilliant music tracks, including several of Taylor Swift’s songs.

Apparently, it was Jenny Han’s dream to have the pop star’s music on the series (via E! News), who almost dedicated her...

Image
Multi Oscar winning producer New Regency has entered into a partnership with Los Angeles investment firm Shamrock Capital, whose Shamrock Content Strategy is taking a participation in the studio’s 35-year-old plus film and television library.

In addition, a standalone production credit facility was entered into by New Regency’s production arm to borrow in connection with new film, television, and media projects—including building on its past IP to create innovative content, alongside a new credit facility supporting its library. These credit facilities are provided by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.

The partnership with Shamrock relates solely to the New Regency library participation and will not be used to fund the production arm. Also note, Shamrock isn’t taking an equity stake here in the New Regency library, rather it’s a long-term commitment in the studio’s library cash flows.

Lola Tung Ties Tsitp to 1 Taylor Swift Song That Is Straight Out of a Ryan Gosling Film
Image
The one thing that Lola Tung’s The Summer I Turned Pretty knows exactly how to do is pick its music. Any show can become timeless or insignificant based on the kind of music it picks, and thankfully for this series, they know just what tracks to choose. Across the two seasons of the show, the series has had the best songs placed at just the right moments, with one artist standing out more than the rest.

Since Jenny Han confessed that she was listening to a lot of Taylor Swift when she was writing the books that the show is based on, a lot of her songs fit perfectly for certain moments. However, there is one specific song that encompasses the entire premise of the series, and Tung seems to know exactly what it is.

The Notebook-like song that makes Lola Tung think of The Summer I Turned Pretty...

Amazon Developing 'Powerless' Fantasy Series After 'Wheel of Time' Cancellation
Image
The cancellation of The Wheel of Time has barely had time to sink in, and it looks like Amazon are already looking for their next replacement fantasy project in a popular young adult romantic fantasy trilogy. Prime Video still has The Rings of Power flying the big-budget fantasy banner for the streamer, and it looks like they are not looking to get out of the fantasy game by any means.

As reported by Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios is looking to adapt Lauren Roberts’ Powerless into a new series which is being developed by original Maxton Hall head writer Daphne Ferraro. The book trilogy consists of 2023’s Powerless and sequels Reckless and Fearless, and the first season will reportedly adapt the first novel.

There have been few further details revealed right now, but the announcement of a new fantasy project being picked up Amazon MGM Studios so soon after they dropped...

Inside the Most Infamous Music Dispute Involving Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun: Explained
Image
The biggest music dispute of our times appears to have come to an end, as Taylor Swift regained ownership of the masters to her six earlier albums. It came after a five-year-long dispute, with things turning ugly between Swift and record executive Scooter Braun. The dispute was even the subject of a two-part docuseries on Max, Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.

In 2019, Swift wrote an explosive letter on Tumblr, telling the world that her masters had been sold without her consultation. She accused Braun of being a bully, while the former music manager claimed that his purchase of the masters was very much legal. Swift had resorted to re-recording her albums before she could call the albums her own again.

Taylor Swift Regains Control of Original Master Recordings
Image
Taylor Swift has gained total control of her entire music catalog, including her original master recordings. “All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me,” she announced in a statement posted to her website on Friday.

According to Billboard, Swift purchased her original masters from Shamrock Capital, the private equity firm that acquired them from Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings in late 2020. Swift reportedly paid around $360 million to close the deal.

Braun famously purchased Swift’s masters from her former record label, Big Machine Records, in June 2019—apparently without the singer’s prior knowledge. Swift described Braun’s acquisition as her “worst-case scenario,” stating at the time, “All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years.” In response, she announced plans to re-record all of her previous albums released through Big Machine, a move that would give her...

Grammy Album Of The Year Winners Through The Years – Photo Gallery
Image
Frank Sinatra was the odds-on favorite to be the big winner at the inaugural Grammy Awards in 1959, but — perhaps as an early indicator that things wouldn’t always go to plan at the Grammys — ‘Ol Blue Eyes lost out on both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

The music industry’s most recognized awards were established in 1958 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in the United States.

The first Grammy ceremony was held on May 4, 1959, with only 28 categories, a number that since has swelled past 100 and now settled at 91. It was attended by many of music’s elite. Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Gene Autry, Johnny Mercer, Henry Mancini and André Previn gathered for a black-tie dinner and awards presentation inside the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton.

2025 Oscars: Isabella Rossellini Scores First-Ever Nomination for ‘Conclave’
Isabella Rossellini at an event for 82nd Golden Globe Awards (2025)
Playing a traumatized nightclub singer made her a star, but to finally win over the Academy, Isabella Rossellini had to play a nosy nun.

Rossellini received her first-ever Oscar nomination on Thursday, scoring a nomination in the best supporting actress category for her role as Sister Agnes in Edward Berger’s Vatican-set thriller Conclave. Her competition includes Ariana Grande for Wicked, Monica Barbaro for A Complete Unknown, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist, and Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez.

Both of Rossellini’s parents were Oscar nominees — her mother Ingrid Bergman was nominated an astounding 7 times, winning best actress 3 times, while father Roberto Rossellini received a screenwriting nom in 1950 — but it took this nepo-baby nearly 40 years to translate her overnight success into Academy acclaim.

Rossellini’s iconic role as tortured crooner Dorothy Vallens in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet (1986) won her an Independent Spirit Award for best female lead but the...

Isabella Rossellini Scores First Oscar Nomination for ‘Conclave’
Image
After a four-decade career in films, Isabella Rossellini scored her first Oscar nomination on Thursday for her supporting role as a Vatican nun in “Conclave.”

The nomination places Rossellini in the Academy history books. She is the daughter of three-time Oscar-winning actress Ingrid Bergman. Her father, the Italian neorealist filmmaking legend Roberto Rossellini was also nominated once, in 1950 for his screenplay for “Paisan.”

Swedish acting legend Bergman is often cited as one of the greatest screen icons of all time, famed for her roles in “Casablanca,” “The Bells of St. Marys” and Alfred Hitchcock’s “Notorious.” She was a seven-time nominee who won three Oscars: two for Best Actress (“Gaslight” and “Anastasia”) and one for Best Supporting Actress (“Murder on the Orient Express”).

Rossellini’s nomination this year, in fact, comes on the 50th anniversary of her mother’s win for “Orient Express,” an all-star mystery film in which Bergman...

Dame Judi Dench gives an update of her deteriorating vision, says she won’t be able to attend events alone
Image
Dame Judi Dench has been very candid about her struggle to continue acting, as her vision has worsened over the last few years. She revealed back in 2012 that started to suffer from age-related macular degeneration (Amd). In 2021, the 90-year-old actress revealed at the London charity Vision Foundation that she started to have friends help her memorize lines by reading her dialogue to her so the repetition can help her remember. In 2023, Dench revealed on The Graham Norton Show that it’s become “impossible” for her to read scripts due to her condition, which is especially defeating as she prided herself on having a photographic memory.

Variety reports that Dench, who is known for her work on the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig James Bond movies, appeared on the Fearless podcast where she says she is now unable to attend events unless she has someone with her to help her around.

This includes, but isn’t limited to, being surrounded by beautiful Korean people, experiencing the culture, and living your life to a K-pop soundtrack. You know I needed something to get into the topic of today’s discussion! Anyway, while a lot of the music on the show is quite random, some of it is very strategically placed specifically with context to the show. Of course, that one Enhypen song is the most obvious choice for this season, almost like it was specifically written to shine in this moment. But, leaving that aside, I thought this would be a great opportunity to inspect something that doesn’t need inspecting and try to put reason to something that’s perfectly wholesome by itself, just because I can.

What To Expect From Taylor Swift In 2025, From Taylor’s Versions To TS12
Image
With Taylor Swift having yet another big year in 2024, between the release of The Tortured Poets Department double album and the conclusion of her record-breaking The Eras Tour, it's hard to imagine she could have even more up her sleeve for 2025 - but indeed she does. If Swift has proven anything over the last 5-plus years, it's that she always has something going on behind the scenes. She's released eight albums, nine if you count The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology separately, ever since 2021, one of which was mostly recorded during The Eras Tour.

This, of course, includes her re-released albums known as the Taylor's Versions, a six-part project that will help Swift reclaim the rights to new versions of her old music. Starting with Fearless (Taylor's Version) in the early part of 2021, Swift now has just two more to go, and 2025 could be the year that she completes this true passion project.

Isabella Rossellini’s Heartbeat Could Be Heard In Her Pivotal ‘Conclave’ Scene
Image
At a spry 72 years young, Isabella Rossellini is having a moment. And an impressive one considering her remarkable life so far. The daughter of famed Italian director Roberto Rossellini and legendary actress Ingrid Bergman, the Italian-born artist was at one time a news reporter, a model for some of the greatest fashion photographers of the 20th Century, and an actress starring in unforgettable films such as David Lynch’s “Wild at Heart,” Robert Zemeckis’ “Death Becomes Her,” the 90s classic “Big Night,” and Peter Weir’s “Fearless.” Now, she may be on the verge of her first Oscar nomination for her role as Sister Agnes in Edward Berger’s “Conclave.”

The Meanings Behind All Of Taylor Swift's Track 5 Songs Explained
Image
The fifth track on Taylor Swift's albums has been celebrated by fans for always being the most raw track. While track 5 isn't always devastatingly heartbreaking, it is always the song where Swift is the most vulnerable. While it likely began as a coincidence, once Swifties noticed the pattern, she took note, making track 5 something for her fans to get excited about each time Swift released an album. Initially, a lot of Swift's track 5 songs were ballads about heartbreak, but things changed when she released her first official pop album, 1989.

Since the album was more upbeat than her past work, track 5 evolved too. However, that doesn't mean Swift abandoned what she and the Swifties have coined "track 5 syndrome." It simply means she expanded on the phenomenon, which only got her fans more excited. While some track 5 songs made it onto the Eras Tour setlist, Swift honored others during her acoustic...

How Taylor Swift Hinted At Reputation And Debut Taylor's Versions At The Final Eras Show
Image
At the final Eras Tour date, Taylor Swift let fans know that her final two re-recordings, Reputation (Taylor's Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version), are on the way. Swift even hinted at which rerecording will come first and which will be the last Taylor's Version released, if you paid close enough attention.

It seems like just yesterday that the pop superstar kicked off the Eras Tour to celebrate her 10 albums. She'd later release The Tortured Poets Department, adding another record-breaking album to the setlist. While The Eras Tour represented Swift reclaiming her art, which was famously sold to Scooter Braun in 2019, two re-recordings remain locked away in Swift's vault.

Before taking her 18 years of artistry on the road, the singer-songwriter gave fans two Taylor's Versions, Fearless and Red, in 2021. The next two came in the midst of the cultural phenomenon. Swift surprised audiences by announcing Speak Now and 1989 during her...

“True Legend” signals the return to the director’s chair for Yuen after he last directed “Tai Chi Boxer” back in 1996. Why Taylor Swift's Next Taylor's Version Re-Release Should Be Reputation, Not Debut
Image
In the Taylor's Version re-recording journey of her first six albums, Taylor Swift only has two more left to go, and it's clear which one she should release first. Swift famously began with Fearless (Taylor's Version) in the early part of 2021, reclaiming the album that changed absolutely everything for her and her career first while adding special new songs "From the Vault." Ever since, Swift has gone on to release three others, including Red (Taylor's Version), Speak Now (Taylor's Version), and 1989 (Taylor's Version). That leaves only two others: Reputation (Taylor's Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version).

With the Taylor's Versions of both Speak Now and 1989 being announced on the first leg of Swift's juggernaut The Eras Tour, fans reasonably assumed that Swift would go on to announce her next Taylor's Version during the latter part of the tour. Now that The Eras Tour has officially ended, however, it's clear that...

While the saxophonist extraordinaire had to cut down the nine-minute album opener “Lesanu” to a more late night-friendly five minutes, it was still ample time for Washington to crush a show-stopping solo — and spotlight several members of his band as well. At the front of the stage, a group of dancers performed a joyful choreographed routine.

8 Songs Taylor Swift Never Played On The Eras Tour
Image
After completing a total of 149 shows on The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift managed to perform nearly every song in her discography live, aside from 8 notable songs. Swift's fixed setlist alone was composed of 44 songs by the end of the tour, not including the acoustic section where Swift would challenge herself with playing different songs every night. By the end of the tour, Swift also endeavored to not only play new songs, but to also create brand-new mashups, typically totaling around 4 songs in that section per night.

At the beginning of the tour, Swift set specific rules for herself in this section, in that she wouldn't and couldn't repeat songs unless she messed up while performing them and thus had to redo them later. As the tour went on, however, Swift began to bend her own rules, opting to replay a few of the things of her own accord before beginning the mashups later on.

10 Songs From The Eras Tour I’m Worried Taylor Swift Won’t Play Live Again
Image
Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour has officially come to an end after 21 months, and it remains to be seen whether Swift will ever play these 10 songs live again. The Eras Tour began in March 2023, and the tour spanned 149 shows in 51 cities across 21 countries. Swift’s final surprise songs helped perfectly conclude the tour earlier this month, truly marking the end of an era.

Now, Taylor Swift's future after the Eras Tour is an exciting question mark, and that includes the future of her concerts and live performances. Undoubtedly, Swift will return with brand-new announcements in 2025, particularly as many are waiting to see when she will release Reputation (Taylor’s Version) and if she will release Taylor Swift/Debut (Taylor’s Version). But which of Taylor Swift's songs from the Eras Tour could the singer be retiring now that the international tour is over?

Bloodywood and Babymetal Team Up for Epic New Song “Bekhauf”: Stream
Image
Bloodywood and Babymetal have teamed up on the anthemic new song “Bekhauf,” showcasing two of the most exciting acts to emerge in the metal scene in recent years.

New Dehli’s Bloodywood’s melding of nu-metal and Indian folk music is heard on “Bekhauf” (translation: “Fearless”) alongside Japanese sensations Babymetal’s unique pop-metal sound. The combination results in an absolute epic track, with lightning-fast riffs and alternating vocals.

Bloodywood issued the following the statement regarding the new song:

“‘Bekhauf’ means ‘fearless’ in Hindi. It was born out of the realization that fear can be seen as a choice, and that choice is our own. It’s about using this knowledge to take control of our fears and eliminate the side of them that holds us back.

It also marks our first ever collaboration. We’ve been waiting to find the right artists to work with and when the possibility of the Babymetal collab emerged,...

Taylor Swift's Debut Album (Taylor's Version) Can Make Up For The Most Disappointing Part Of The Eras Tour
Image
The upcoming re-recorded version of Taylor Swift's debut album, Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version), has the chance to remedy what has certainly become the greatest disappointment of The Eras Tour. When it comes to this highly renowned and historical world tour, "disappointment" is a word that's hard to associate it with. From smashing records to creating cultural moments and movements, The Eras Tour is something that's gone far beyond Swift herself, and has proven just how much of a juggernaut she is in terms of talent, influence, innovation, and more.

Despite this, there is definitely one major stumble this tour has taken that hasn't been remedied: the lack of appreciation for her debut album. As a tour that covers every era of Swift's discography, it feels wrong to skip over the very first era she had, but it's never had its own section. In fact, the only time Swift plays...
