This is the final film role of Chih-Kang Tan, the young actor who played the main character Kang/A-dou. He passed away in September 1993 in a traffic accident at the age of 18, just a year after this film was released. Like his character here, he was supposed to have moved to the US; in his case, to study film. He'd only stayed in Taiwan for the planned sequel to this film, which was ultimately scrapped after his death.
