Exclusive: A Swedish producer, Studios Extraordinaires, has launched in Cannes with an ambitious slate of film and TV projects.

The company is the brainchild of Swedish screenwriter and producer André Hedetoft, whose credits include feature film Bieffekterna and short film Double Trouble. It aims to create, acquire, manage and produce TV and films projects with partners from international entertainment companies.

He recently launched Studios Extraordinaires but Cannes marks its official launch. Hedetoft is in town with three projects: Aurora Noir, Expeditions and Space Marshals and has been holding talks with potential international partners.

Aurora Noir is based on artist Tim Razumovsky’s universe, which combines neo-noir aesthetics with retro science fiction. He is working with Studios Extraordinaires to develop the project into TV series, films and books.

Expeditions is an adaptation of an upcoming console game from Malmö-based game studio Infinite Mana Games. TV series and films are planned.

9-1-1: Lone Star, a spin-off of Fox’s 9-1-1, follows the adventures of Captain Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) and his fellow first responders at Austin’s 126 firehouse — Ems Captain Tommy Vega (Gina Torres), Tk Strand (Ronen Rubenstein), Judd Ryder (Jim Parrack), Paul Strickland (Brian Michael Smith), Marjan Marwani (Natacha Karam), Nancy Gillian (Brianna Baker), and Mateo Chavez (Julian Works). Together, they respond to emergencies in the field or in their personal lives as Texas’ premier group of first responders, paired with Officer Carlos Reyes (Rafael Silva) and Dispatcher Grace Ryder (Sierra McClain), of course. However, despite the ensemble cast, 9-1-1: Lone Star has always been the Owen Strand show. A majority of the stories are devoted to Owen, and those that aren’t, usually find a way to highlight him in some so-called savior capacity. Like, for instance, in “Double Trouble,” which spotlights Mateo’s past and family life.

9-1-1 mastermind Tim Minear promised an unconventional crossover on 9-1-1: Lone Star this season, and we’re finally getting it on Tuesday (Fox, 8/7c).

The episode, appropriately titled “Double Trouble,” finds Julian Works embodying dual roles — Mateo, his regular Lone Star character, and Mateo’s Los Angeles-based cousin Marvin, whom viewers previously met in a 2018 episode of 9-1-1.

Irwin Winkler has been producing films for parts of six decades. His latest is “The Irishman,” which reunites him with frequent collaborators Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro as well as Al Pacino (“Revolution”). Winkler was first mentioned in Variety on Dec. 24, 1958, when he was an agent at William Morris and getting married. He left the agency to become a producer, debuting with the 1967 Elvis Presley movie “Double Trouble.”

Soon after, he and Robert Chartoff formed Chartoff Winkler Prods., scoring big with the 1969 drama “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?” Directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Jane Fonda, the film earned nine Oscar nominations, winning a supporting actor trophy for Gig Young. The producing duo took home the Oscar when “Rocky” (1976) won best picture. She-Ra season 4 is happening on Netflix! Now we have a release date and trailer to prove it.

The end of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power season 3 blew the whole universe wide open. This isn't just a fight going on in the world of Etheria but it's a galactic conflict! This can't be the end of the show, right?

Well it's not! She-Ra and the Princesses of Power season 4 is coming to Netflix this fall. And it sounds like the series' showrunner has a plan for what will be included in season 4. Back around the time She-Ra premiered on Netflix, creator Noelle Stevenson gave an interview with Animation Magazine discussing her plans for the show.

“When I first pitched the show, I approached it as if had one season, but we now have four arcs of 13 episodes done. I had ideas for the big overall scheme for the show.

Steve Miller will place his biggest hits alongside a slew of previously unreleased tracks on a new box set, Welcome to the Vault, out October 11th via Sailor/Capitol/UMe.

The three-disc, one DVD collection will span Miller’s six-decade career and boast 38 previously unreleased recordings including demos, rehearsals, outtakes and live performances. The set will also feature five recently rediscovered Steve Miller Band tracks recorded in the Sixties and Seventies. To accompany the box set announcement, Miller shared an alternate version of his 1976 Number One single “Rock ‘N Me.

In January 2013, Martin Scorsese assembled the cast of his projected next movie, titled The Irishman, for a read-through of the shooting script. Their names — De Niro, Pacino and Pesci – did not resonate as “Irish.” Moreover, the actors, all in their 70s, would play ages 30 to 80 with the help of newly developed technology. When it comes to the various character pairings that American Dad! will turn to, the combination of Steve and Roger is usually a safe one to bank on. Some of the most satisfying stories come from when these two are together and while “Twinanigans” has a very encouraging premise for Roger and Steve, it’s an episode that tries to do too much and cover too many bases. While this is not a total misfire, a simplified take on these ideas could have led to a stronger episode that doesn’t overextend itself.

Munich-based sales agent Arri Media has closed distribution deals for three territories on “Double Trouble & the Magical Mirror,” which world premieres Monday in the Lola section of Berlinale, and is shortlisted for the German Film Award.

The family entertainment film has been picked up by Wing Sight Media in China, Cloud Movie in Italy and Selim Ramia in the Middle East. The film will be released in Germany by Square One Entertainment on April 4.

In the film, fun-loving but lazy Frido, 10, finds a magical mirror that creates a doppelganger of himself who can do everything better than him. He tells his friends and they do the same but soon their doubles begin to take over.

The Good Place for all of its technical brilliance and upending of traditional network sitcom structure is still a network sitcom. This is a half-hour comedy that receives a 13-episode order each year. At some point each season, The Good Place has adopted something resembling a status quo.

In season one, the return to the status quo meant Eleanor discovering the truth about Jianyu/Jason and inviting him to philosophy lessons with Chidi week after week. In season two the status quo saw Tahani and Michael joining the philosophy lessons while the whole gang tried to avoid discovery by Sean and the demons.

If you didn’t grow up during the late-80′s/early-90′s, you may not remember the Barbarian Brothers. Peter and David Paul were muscle-bound body builders known for their extreme dedication to their craft. One look at their impossibly chiseled physique and you knew you were dealing with a different breed of weight-lifter. In 1987, someone got the bright idea to cast the siblings in a fantasy flick called “The Barbarians”, a film I vaguely recall during the late-night Cinemax escapades of my youth. The film must have been a moderate success, as the brothers found themselves in a small batch of like-minded action/comedies which focused on the fact that they were big, they were strong, and, more importantly, they were twins. Enter John Paragon’s 1992 epic “Double Trouble”, a buddy cop flick which finds the two brothers joining forces to take down the dastardly son-of-a-bitch behind a high-stakes jewel smuggling operation.
