Skeleton Crew speculation: How do we get justice for planets like At Achrann?
Image
Every episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew peels back another layer of the mysteries that surround At Attin. The kids have no other frame of reference in the galaxy, but off-worlders think they're lying through their teeth about where they came from. In Episode 4, "Can't Say I Remember No At Attin," we see the planet of At Achrann didn't fare as well as the idyllic and regimented At Attin. Based on Sm-33's shocking revelations at the end of the episode, my hopes for the series' end have taken a turn.

What is At Achrann's problem?

The second of the Jewels of the Old Republic that we see could not be more different than At Attin. We started this series on a planet where people led boring but reliable lives. The kids were fed, educated, and housed, while the adults had their purpose in life determined far in advance...

Image
Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, I Told Them…, has arrived. Stream the record below.

Spanning 15 songs and featuring appearances by 21 Savage, RZA, J. Cole, Byron Messia, and more, I Told Them… continues Burna Boy’s distinct Afrobeats sound. Speaking about the record in a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the rapper explained that he sees the record as a milestone of his success. “This one is for the part of my own home and the people in my own home who didn’t believe or doubt it, or still doubt, or any type of thing,” he said. “You can go back to my old tweets and stuff. I basically predicted everything that’s happening now.”

Continuing, he likened his manifestation of success with the words of a prophet, and concluded with: “It’s fun to tell people something is true, and they doubt, and then they end up seeing it.

Diane Keaton Hilariously Inserts Herself Into Brutal Fight Scene from Keanu Reeves’ John Wick 3
Diane Keaton
Diane Keaton is the action hero moviegoers deserve.

Over the weekend, the Oscar winner, 74, shared a laugh-out-loud funny mashup that inserted her First Wives Club character, into a particularly violent scene from last year’s John Wick 3. The comedic blend sees Keaton’s Annie from the 1996 comedy preaching pacifism to Keanu Reeves, as he engages in a brutal knife fight with several adversaries.

“I thought we were supposed to be helping each other, not ripping each other to shreds!” Keaton shouts in the scene, edited to appear as if she’s scolding Wick and his assailants.

Keaton adorably captioned the humorous edit on Instagram,...

Samuel Bottomley, Rian Gordon, Lewis Gribben, and Viraj Juneja in Get Duked! (2019)
Amazon Studios Acquires Ninian Doff’s SXSW Horror-Comedy ‘Boyz In The Wood’
Samuel Bottomley, Rian Gordon, Lewis Gribben, and Viraj Juneja in Get Duked! (2019)
Exclusive: Amazon Studios has acquired the worldwide rights to Ninian Doff’s debut feature Boyz In The Wood which stars Izzard, Kate Dickie, Georgie Glen, James Cosmo and a up-and-comers Samuel Bottomley, Viraj Juneja, Rian Gordon and Lewis Gribben. The horror-comedy made its world premiere as the opening Midnight Movie at SXSW and received rave reviews before moving on to a noteworthy festival run.

Written and directed by Doff and produced by Tobey Maguire and Matthew Plouffe’s Material Pictures, Boyz In The Wood is set deep in the Scottish Highlands and gives an irreverent take on generational politics, hip-hop loving farmers, and hallucinogenic rabbit shites. The satirical story, which features a playlist of tone-appropriate rappers including Danny Brown, Vince Staples, Run The Jewels, and original music from Scottish producer S-Type, follows four city boys trying to escape a mysterious huntsman (Izzard). The Scottish Highlands’ police unit trails behind, failing spectacularly to provide assistance.

Jumanji Video Game Is Coming Ahead of Jumanji 3 This December
The action is about to jump from the jungle to your living room, as Sony has announced Jumanji: The Video Game, which is coming to console and PC this fall. Jumanji has become something of an unlikely franchise, thanks to the success of 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. With a sequel coming down the pipeline later this year, Sony is looking to capitalize as much as possible. As such, they have a new multiplayer video game heading our way and we've got a trailer to prove it.

It's very much just a video game teaser, but it gives us some sense of what to expect. We see the four main characters we were introduced to in the previous movie all falling from the sky and being dropped into a familiar jungle landscape. Epic music cues up and the title flashes across the screen. One of the biggest takeaways is...

Heathers TV Show To Release Two Soundtracks
Alec Bojalad Oct 11, 2018

Now that the Heathers TV series is finally making its way to air, it's releasing not one but two soundtracks to celebrate.

It's been a long and winding road for the Heathers TV show to make it to air.

The dark high school series based on the 1988 film of the same name was initially set to premiere on TV Land in 2017. Then Heathers made its way over to the newly launched Paramount Network instead. Paramount decided to table Heathers for the foreseeable future following a rash of school shooting in the U.S. Finally, Paramount gave Heathers a trim from 10 episodes to 9 and is set to release the series on October 25.

To celebrate finally getting to see the light of day, Heathers is getting not one but two original soundtracks on Lakeshore Records.

The first soundtrack, Heathers-Original Television Series Soundtrack (Various Artists), is set to be released...

Hear Run the Jewels’ Ominous ‘Let’s Go (The Royal We)’
Run the Jewels released a rugged new single titled “Let’s Go (The Royal We)” on Thursday. The song appears in the new Marvel film Venom.

The beat is the star here — the instrumental is nasty, patient and buzzing. Run the Jewels’ El-p and Killer Mike take turns rapping tightly wound verses that skim over the top of the droning bass line. Their lines are as ominous as the beat: “Death in the air, we relish the smell,” Killer Mike raps. “We are the hand of the lord/ We are the hand with the sword…...

Dennis Quaid, Dennis Christopher, Jackie Earle Haley, and Daniel Stern in La bande des quatre (1979)
Patrick Williams, who was best-known for his Emmy-winning television music but who was also a renowned and Grammy-winning big-band jazz leader and arranger, died Wednesday morning of complications from cancer at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 79.

Williams was among the most versatile composers of his generation, earning an Oscar nomination, four Emmys and two Grammys during more than 50 years of music-making in New York and Los Angeles.

In the middle of his most prolific period, scoring music for TV including “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Bob Newhart Show” and “The Streets of San Francisco,” he was also nominated for the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in music for his groundbreaking “An American Concerto” (1976) for jazz quartet and symphony orchestra.

He scored nearly 50 films, often memorable scores for movies that were not big hits, including “Casey’s Shadow,” “The Cheap Detective” and “Cuba” in the 1970s; “Used Cars,...
