Full Moon’s Sexy Sci-Fi Classic Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity Comes to Blu-ray!
Remastered! Uncut! Even Weirder Than You Remember! Full Moon drags you back to the cosmos for carnal thrills, human-hunting chills and sci-fi spills in the 1987 cult classic Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity, a controversial and campy riff on Richard Connell’s oft-adapted story The Most Dangerous Game but set in space. With boobs! Busting loose …

‘Grindhouse 5: Dr. Alien’ Review
Stars: Billy Jacoby, Judy Landers, Troy Donahue, Olivia Barash, Stuart Fratkin, Raymond O’Connor, Bobby Jacoby | Written by Kenneth J. Hall | Directed by David DeCoteau

Yet another film from my youth and one that I distinctly remember from the pages of The Dark Side magazine (back in my pre-internet days when I used to buy horror mags religiously), Dr. Alien is a film that, despite my knowledge of it, I have yet to see. So this new DVD from 88 Films is a welcome addition to my ever-growing B-movie library.

After Ms. Xenobia takes over Dr. Ackerman’s science class following an “incident” the puts Ackerman in the hospital, she persuades a nerdish Wesley Littlejohn to participate in some vitamin research she and her assistant Drax are conducting. Suddenly Wesley becomes very desirable to all the ladies – including Ms. Xenobia herself – despite the fleshy antenna that grows out of his head when he’s excited!

‘Grindhouse 3: Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity’ Review
Stars: Elizabeth Kaitan, Cindy Beal, Don Scribner, Brinke Stevens, Carl Horner | Written and Directed by Ken Dixon

The third release in 88 Films’ Grindhouse Collection, Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity is a slice of 80s direct to video cheese, the likes of which you do not see today. Set in the distant future, the film follows two beautiful young slave girls who are serving life on a prison galley. With no hopes and no map, they escape, convinced that any fate will be an improvement. But what do slave girls know? Crash-landing on a strange planet, they meet Zed, the greatest hunter in the cosmos. His gracious hospitality fools them at first, but even these girls notice that Zed’s other guests are disappearing one by one. What is the deadly secret locked behind the doors of Zed’s trophy room?

Yet another take on the classic “The Most Dangerous Game” story,...

What to Buy This Week: DVD and Blu-ray releases for January 14th
It’s Monday, so we all know what that means! Yes, it’s time for another rundown of DVDs and Blu-ray’s hitting stores online and offline this week. It’s a very light week this week, so let us breakdown the new releases and highlight what you should – and shouldn’t – be buying from today, January 14th 2013.

Pick Of The Week

Dredd (DVD/Blu-ray)

The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One–a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban, The Lord of the Rings, Star Trek) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge–a...

Underground Film Links: May 13, 2012
For this week’s Must Read, I don’t know if this is a one-off or a series, but I hope it’s a continuing series. Mike Plante of Cinemad has posted up an article from the old print version of the online zine — and it’s a doozy! Stan Brakhage meets Godfrey Reggio!I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m completely digging BadAzz MoFo’s poster hall of fame series of posts. Here’s a great one for The Land That Time Forgot and The People That Time Forgot, movies most people have probably forgotten since they suck so bad. Also, Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity, which apparently isn’t as sleazy as it sounds.Donna k. gushes over Troy, NY’s Empac again and perhaps for the last time.Migrating Forms is going on right now and there were lots of write-ups about the films and filmmakers,...

The 10 Sexiest Scream Queens
One of the things I love best about the internet is that people post movie-related lists and then other people get to comment on all the things the lists did wrong (or, sometimes, did right). Today, in anticipation of this week's Sorority Row, Moviefone posted a list of the ten sexiest scream queens. It's a fun list, and it's wise enough to go all the way back to Fay Wray (King Kong) and Janet Leigh (Psycho), and it includes two essentials: Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween) and Marilyn Burns (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). It also includes Shannon Elizabeth, a dubious choice for films like Jack Frost, 13 Ghosts and Cursed (although I'm glad someone has thrown Cursed back into the ring; it's silly but it's also sexy, well-acted and very sharply directed by Wes Craven).

I like Adrienne Barbeau as a choice, too, even though she's really only a "scream queen" in one movie,...
