Why Theresa Randle Was Recast For Bad Boys: Ride Or Die
Image
Theresa Randles dubious recasting for Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024) has raised the eyebrows of some fans who are wondering about the actor switch. Randle debuted the role of Theresa Burnett, wife to Martin Lawrences Marcus Burnett, in the first Bad Boys back in 1995. The actress later reprised her role in Bad Boys II (2003) and Bad Boys for Life (2020). Because of Randles previous reprisal of her Bad Boys role, it was surprising not to see the actress return in Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

Theresa Burnett is still a key character in the franchise sequel, as she and Marcus have kids together who play important roles in Ride or Die. Taking over for Randle in Bad Boys: Ride or Die is Tasha Smith, an actress known for her work in projects such as The Whole Ten Yards and Empire. However, as the fourth Bad Boys' success showed the love of the franchise is still strong,...

Mort Engelberg Dies; ‘Smokey And The Bandit’ Producer & Bill Clinton Advance Man Who Organized 1992 Bus Tour For Arkansas Governor & Running Mate Al Gore
Image
Mort Engelberg, a producer of the films Smokey And The Bandit and The Big Easy, has passed away. Engelberg was 86, and he died in Los Angeles in the company of his wife, Helaine Blatt, a success herself as a high-end jewelry broker.

Engelberg was producing films when he took time away from his day job and organized a famous bus tour taken by Arkansas governor and presidential aspirant Bill Clinton and his running mate Al Gore through numerous states the summer after the Democratic Convention in 1992. Engelberg served a similar role previously for candidates Walter F. Mondale in 1984 and Michael Dukakis in 1988. For Clinton, the bus tour was a rousing success. It bonded Clinton, Gore and their wives, and presenting the amiable presidential candidate as an everymen who thrived mixing with real people in cities across the country. It would become a trademark for Clinton’s successful two presidential runs.

'Sons of Anarchy' Spin-Off Gets 'Breaking Bad' Actor
2017-04-03T17:54:02-07:00'Sons of Anarchy' Spin-Off Gets 'Breaking Bad' Actorclass="p1">

FX's Sons of Anarchy spinoff is getting a taste of Breaking Bad.

Raymond Cruz, best known for his role as Tuco on the AMC drama and spinoff Better Call Saul, has signed on for a role in Mayans Mc, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The drama is set post-soa and centers on Ez Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan Mc charter on the California/Mexico border who struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel as well as his need for respect from the women he loves.

Cruz will play Che "Padre" Romero, a full patch member of Mayans Mc, Santo Padre and the founder of a local Mexican Mc. With road-worn experience, he keeps a paternal eye out for the club. He is the voice of reason amongst the chaos.

“American Horror Story: Coven”: Worst. BBQ. Ever.
Before we light up the Char-Broil and get down to bidness with this week’s episode of American Horror Story, did everyone see the clip of hottie neighbor Luke making out with Doctor Who? Of course everyone did. Now let’s roast us a witch!

It’s 1833 – do you know where your children are? If you’re Delphine Lalaurie (Kathy Bates), you sure do: they’re in the cages in your attic! Okay, so it’s good to have a reminder of just how horrible a racist, sadistic, murderous psycho this woman was before they gave her the Maid to Order treatment and turned her into a goofy uniformed sad sack. But let’s give credit where it’s due: girlfriend really does it up for Halloween!

Also, what in the hell is her daughter’s name? Boquita? Martika? Morcheeba? Anyway, the daughters aren’t keen on momma’s slave-entrail Halloween decor,...

"American Horror Story" 1.01 Recap: "Don't Make Me Kill You Again"
Good eeeeeeeeevening, boys and ghouls. Last night FX premiered Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's new thriller American Horror Story, and I think I speak for everyone who watched when I ask, "What the faaaaaaaaalchuk was that?!"

Each week I will be recapping the madness that goes on inside and near the Harmon house, partly in an attempt to make some sense of it myself. But rest assured, dear readers - I am a lifelong horror nut with an advanced degree in Batsh*tology, so if anyone is qualified to give you a tour of this cursed piece of real estate, I'd like to think it's me.

Shall we get this party started?

Just a minute in, and it's already batty as hell...

We kick things off in 1978 with a few sweeping shots of the front of a gorgeous but disused Victorian mansion accompanied by some ominous and familiar strings (if I'm not mistaken,...

Ten awesome 80s movies that haven’t made it to DVD
I’m currently sat watching Take Me Home Tonight, the Topher Grace starrer set in the 80s and I got to thinking about how much fun I had back then, and then I got to thinking about all the cool movies that were released during my the decade and just how many of them have never seen the light of day since then… So here it is, my Top 10 movies of the 80s that have never made it to DVD (well at least not here in the UK):

1) The Legend of Billie Jean (1985)

Average Texas teen, Billie Jean Davy, is caught up in an odd fight for justice. She is usually followed and harrased around by local boys, who, one day, decide to trash her brother’s scooter for fun. The boys’ father refuses to pay them back the price of the scooter. The fight for “fair is fair...

Rain Phoenix's unusual childhood
Rain Phoenix was raised by hippies and, like her brothers River and Joaquin, has made a career in film and music. She talks about their unusual childhood

Not many people can say they were out busking on the streets at the age of three. Or that they got their first agent at the age of five, and then played the Hollywood Bowl with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young by the time they were six. But then not many people can say they come from a family like Rain Phoenix's.

As the eldest daughter of the Phoenix clan, 38-year old Rain comes sandwiched between two of Hollywood's most recognisable young stars. River Phoenix – teen icon and Hollywood heartthrob who died of a drug overdose when he was just 23 – was two years her elder, while the twice Oscar-nominated actor Joaquin, is two years younger. There are also two sisters as well – Summer and Liberty.
