It's almost time to say goodbye to The Sandman. Netflix has released the official trailer for the acclaimed drama series' second and final season, just weeks ahead of its July premiere on the streamer.

Three years after the first season, Netflix is set to conclude its adaptation of The Sandman, based on the critically acclaimed DC Comics series of the same name by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg, with a final season consisting of 12 episodes, including a special episode centered around Kirby's Death. First look at Game of Thrones vet Jack Gleeson (Joffrey) as Puck in The Sandman
Image
This Saturday, Netflix will reveal info about a lot of its new shows coming later this year, including The Sandman, based on Neil Gaiman's beloved comic book series. The Sandman is about...well, a lot of stuff, but it boils down to a story about an immortal entity named Dream (Tom Sturridge) who rules over the realm of dreams, where we all go when we fall asleep.

'The Sandman' reveals Destruction and Puck in EW's exclusive first look. Showrunner Allan Heinberg sets the stage for season 2, comments on the Neil Gaiman of it all, and explains why this is really the story's endgame. https://t.co/JkpB4DS8Lm

— Entertainment Weekly (@EW) May 28, 2025

The Sandman comics run for 10 volumes, with the first season only covering the first two. And yet, this second season will be the last. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Allan Heinberg said they decided...

The Sandman Showrunner On Whether Series Ending Is Related To Neil Gaiman Accusations; New Stills Released
Image
The Sandman season 2 will also be the show's last, no great surprise given the three-year gap between seasons and continued controversies surrounding creator Neil Gaiman.

In the next batch of episodes, after a fateful reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals.

However, the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Allan Heinberg broke his silence about the show's apparent cancellation, which come in the wake of more allegations being made about Gaiman's reported sexual misconduct.

"It was a decision we made three years ago," he said of season 2 being the end for The Sandman,...

The first look at the second season of The Sandmanhas been revealed. The highly-anticipated return of Dream (Tom Sturridge) will keep audiences on the edge of their seats once it premieres on Netflix in the near future. The second installment of the successful adaptation will find the protagonist looking for who he really is. The new images from the second season of The Sandman give audiences a fresh look at some of the new additions to the story, almost three years after the first installment made its way to Netflix. Image
Critically acclaimed horror novelist Mark Allen’s latest novel, Alpha Male, launched on April 15, 2025, and immediately began making waves. It hit the Amazon bestseller chart for New Releases U.S. Horror on Day One and currently still sits there.

Alpha Male is the second installment of Allen’s werewolf trilogy. He describes the story: “The heroes, Caleb and Marla, once again skirt death and danger at every turn as they race to bring order to a chaotic werewolf world. Caleb must ascend to the position he never wanted but feels morally compelled to claim: Alpha Male of the Global Pack.”

Early reviews are glowing:

“Allen’s tautly written follow-up satisfyingly continues the series… a story all its own… culminates in an ending that’s both a solid wrap-up and a subtle tease for a third series entry.” – Kirkus Reviews

“Gripping, brutal, yet surprisingly tender… ferocious (and) fast-paced…Allen’s prose is taut and cinematic…...

The Eternaut Cast And Character Guide
Image
As a literary medium, cartoons, comic books, and graphic novels have been used as a weapon wielded by writers and artists against oppressive state machinery since as far back as the 18th century, showcased through some of the most critical, influential political allegories like Maus, V for Vendetta, and Persepolis, to name a few. In a similar vein, renowned Argentinian journalist and writer Hector German Oesterheld penned his famous comic series, The Eternaut, to use the seemingly conventional sci-fi elements of an alien invasion theory to raise a voice against the autocratic military governance prominent across South America. The visionary nature of his work is demonstrated by the fact that The Eternaut acted as an ominous prediction of Argentina turning into an autocratic military state, and the writer perished along with a number of his family members in his efforts to counter the tyrannical forces in power. The characters in...

‘The Sandman’ Season 2 Isn’t Just Back, It’s Here to School Every Fantasy Series a Thing or Two on Sibling Rivalry
Image
One of the finest additions to the world of fantasy dramas, The Sandman lore has been amusing fans for ages — first through its comic book series, which was released in 1989, and then its live-action adaptation in the form of a television series, which first debuted on the screens in 2022. But it is not done leaving fans at the edge of their seats just yet.

That said, fans of the live-action saga might as well rejoice once again, for the masterpiece series will soon be returning with its second season to the television screens. And, this time around, it is expected to bring about even more entertainment than before as it seems to be here to school every fantasy drama a thing or two on sibling rivalry.

The Sandman S2 finally gets an update, and boy, have they upped the sibling rivalry game! The Sandman. | Credits: Netflix.

Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman Cancelled At Netflix And Will End With Upcoming Season 2
Image
All good dreams must come to an end sooner or later, and so it goes that a very good Dream is about to come to an end imminently on Netflix. In news that will likely come as a surprise to precisely nobody, today the streaming giant has announced that its dark fantasy epic The Sandman will conclude with the release of its upcoming second season. Officially, the line is that the series is finishing because the story of Tom Sturridge's Morpheus — aka Dream — is coming to its natural end. And while that is doubtless a key factor, much like Prime Video's suddenly cut short Good Omens, it's hard not to assume that the serious and ongoing allegations of sexual misconduct that have been brought against creator Neil Gaiman in recent months have played their part in Netflix's decision to pull the plug. You can read a statement on the...

Path of Exile 2 has had an explosive debut getting over hundreds of thousands of players in its first month. And while the game already has a massive community and good player retention, its co-op system has been a big sore point.

The game has been one of the biggest hits in recent memory, but it has this big flaw. | Image Credit: Grinding Gear Games.

While the game offers crossplay and couch co-op, many issues have been reported by players. The reports include uneven loot distribution, lack of progression parity, and problematic level scaling. This has made playing with your friends very difficult and annoying, especially if you’re the higher level player.

Argyris (Claudio Kaya) and Mary (Konstantina Messini) in Buzzheart. Messini: 'I think Dennis has created something unique' Photo: Courtesy of Poff Buzzheart is a claustrophobic family affair largely playing out over the course of a single weekend. The family focus and its disturbing atmosphere mean Dennis Iliadis’ latest film certainly shares plenty of DNA with the Greek Weird Wave but there is also more than a whisper of US-style genre films, including Get Out, about this psychological thriller, perhaps no surprise since the director has also made several films Stateside, including Delirium and the Last House On The Left remake.

Argyris (Claudio Kaya) is every inch the average 19-year-old but his life takes a turn for the strange after he encounters physiotherapy masseuse Mary (Konstantina Messini) - from whom he is hoping for a little extra - and she invites him on a dating weekend. The only hitch is, it will include meeting her parents.

Amazon MGM Studios and producer Scott Stuber have teamed up to acquire the film adaptation rights to an adult mystery thriller novel proposal by bestselling author Lauren Oliver, and Deadline reports that Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson has boarded the project with the intention of producing it alongside Stuber… and, if she likes the script, she’ll also sign on to play the title character of The Girl in the Lake.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the story has been described as being along the lines of “What Lies Beneath meets The Sixth Sense.” So it sounds like there might be something supernatural going on with the girl in the lake.

Oliver is currently writing the screenplay. Johansson and Jonathan Lia will be producing the film through Johansson’s company These Pictures, while Marc Resteghini produces through Jack Tar Pictures. In addition to Scott Stuber, another producer...

The logline is being kept under wraps but when Verve held the auction, the novel was being described as What Lies Beneath meets The Sixth Sense. "So, I play the Cluracan, and he's a really fun character to play," Booth said. "I had so much fun with him. Ann Skelly was brilliant as Nuala. There's not much I can say because I've never been on a project where they're so secretive, and they make you sign so many things. But what I can tell you is the world-building is brilliant. It's gone up a level even from series one. And all the additional cast is fantastic. Tom [Sturridge] is brilliant."

‘Love Is Blind’s Renee Poche Fails In Bid To Have $4M NDA Battle With Netflix & Producers In Public
Image
The public won’t get to see what’s going to go down in the $4 million battle between Love Is Blind contestant Renee Poche and producers Delirium and Netflix.

“The motion to compel arbitration is granted as to Defendants Delirium TV, LLC and Netflix, Inc.,” ruled LA Superior Court Judge Bruce G. Iwasaki today after a downtown hearing. “This matter is stayed pending the outcome of arbitration.”

“The parties have clearly agreed to delegate the Court’s responsibility to determine arbitrability to the arbitrator to decide,” the judge added of the ‘clear and unmistakable” language in Poche’s nondisclosure agreement. “The matter is delegated to the arbitrator to decide all the substantive issues raised by Plaintiff’s opposition to arbitration.”

In the sometimes contentious hearing itself, Judge Iwasaki put it even more bluntly: “The court is stuck with the contract. That’s the contract.”

Back in January, LiB Season 5 participant...

Love Is Blind season 5's Renee Poche has chosen to strike back with a lawsuit of her own against Netflix and the series production company, Delirium, alleging she was allegedly made to be emotionally distressed and that the series violated labor laws. Based on Gaiman's graphic novel series of the same name, the Netflix show centers on Lord Morpheus, cosmic controller of all dreams, attempts to regain control of his realm after being held prisoner for over a century. After the show's wildly successful first batch of episodes, The Sandman was quickly greenlit for further episodes, with filming kicking off in late June.

Just a day after the renewal contract between SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) expired, Gaiman took to BlueSky (per GamesRadar+) to announced that shooting for The Sandman part 2 has stopped completely. The prolific author and creator stood in solidarity with both groups on strike, expressing his hopes for a deal to be made in the near future. See what Gaiman said below:

SAG-AFTRA strike is on. Sandman has stopped shooting completely,...

Per What’s on Netflix, the streamer is reportedly casting five actors to portray the powerful characters in the form of Thor, Loki, Odin, King Auberon, and Queen Titania, who will be joining Morpheus in the next chapter of The Sandman. As for the other four, their character descriptions are still being kept under wraps.

"We Missed What We Were Aiming For": Neil Gaiman On Despair's Portrayal in The Sandman
Image
Neil Gaiman admits that Despair's portrayal in Netflix's The Sandman missed the mark. Based on Gaiman's comic series of the same name, The Sandman was adapted into a Netflix television series in August 2022. The series was praised by critics and fans alike, and quickly became one of Netflix's Top 10 titles for several weeks after its release, currently holding the title of eighth most-watching English language series on Netflix for 2022. The Sandman was renewed for new episodes in November 2022, with the episodes currently in pre-production.

In a post to his Tumblr, Gaiman has addressed Despair's portrayal in the Netflix show. Responding to a fan question who brought up that Despair is portrayed as a plus-sized woman who is seen as "frumpy, depressed and not really loved by anyone," Gaiman admits that the series "missed what we were aiming for in Sandman Season 1." Drive-In Dust Offs: Delirium (1987)
Image
Sex and violence, beauty and madness, shoulder pads and pitchforks being stuck in eyeball-faced models. All signs point to Italy in the ‘80s, and Lamberto Bava’s Delirium (1987) fits the bill with murder, mystery, and bee-faced models. What, you think eyeballs get all the fun?

Delirium was released by Medusa Distribuzione in its homeland in April under its original title, Le Foto Di Gioia, and stars Serena Grandi (Antropophagus) as Gioia, the owner of a men’s magazine called Pussycat. When her models start turning up dead, she must figure out who is killing everyone around her, and if she’s the final target. A perfectly normal thriller for the time, yes?

Hold tight, pardner. First, this is a giallo, which means we’re going to need a few things: As many red herrings as possible (check); gratuitous nudity (double check); and a completely nonsensical resolution. Now, one could say...
