A fresh glimpse at Daddy, the highly anticipated sci-fi dark comedy, has dropped—and it's already turning heads.
From Firehouse 51 to a Dystopian Nightmare—Sardarov’s Bold New Role
Starring Chicago Fire alum Yuriy Sardarov, best known as fan-favorite firefighter Brian “Otis” Zvonecek, the film takes Sardarov far from the familiar chaos of Firehouse 51 and into an unsettling dystopian retreat where paranoia reigns supreme. In a newly released clip from Binge, Sardarov’s character, Sebastian, showcases a raw, commanding presence as tensions boil over among the group of would-be fathers stranded in the remote California wilderness. Left without instructions in their government-mandated retreat, the men spiral into confusion, self-doubt, and intense competition to prove their worthiness as potential parents. Sardarov leans into the madness, delivering an intense performance fueled by his character's desperate need for control, as you can see in the clip below.

Scott Eastwood had a chance to serve as one of the stars of today's most popular TV shows from the very start. However, his run only spanned a single episode, and many fans of the series may have even forgotten that he was ever a part of it.
In an interview with Brittany Frederick of Cbr to promote his new movie, Alarum, Eastwood reflected on his brief time spent in the One Chicago franchise. After appearing in a guest role in Chicago Fire for the backdoor pilot of Chicago Pd, Eastwood reprised his role as Officer Jim Barnes in the first episode of the latter. He has been absent in the franchise ever since, and, as the actor has now shared, this was because he didn't want to relocate to Chicago and commit several years of his life to that one TV show.

Although it has an ignominious reputation, Adam Sandler’s holiday movie Eight Crazy Nights is nowhere near as bad as critics claimed. In 2002, it truly seemed as if Adam Sandler could do no wrong. After a successful star-making run on Saturday Night Live, Sandler starred in a string of hit ‘90s comedies that elevated him the Hollywood A-list. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy were all huge hits, while 1998’s The Wedding Singer proved that Sandler could also anchor a sweet rom-com. This era featured some of Sandler’s best characters and made his box office gold.

The Most Disgusting Boss Design in Gaming History isn’t from Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Soulsborne Universe
FromSoftware and president Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Soulsborne games are synonymous with challenging gameplay and extreme boss fights. These games practically test players on how they’ve perfected their character’s builds and how strong they can slash, stab, and smite everything in their path.

Another aspect of Miyazaki’s games is the enemy designs, especially for bosses. FromSoftware wants their game bosses to stand out from regular foes, and they have often gone the unpleasant route to make them as gross as possible. However, the Soulsborne bosses are nothing compared to what we see in Silent Hill 2 Remake, which genuinely brings disgusting boss designs to the next level.

The game developers got creative and added a few alternate endings for New Game Plus.
Players will have full authority on how they wish to play the game and their actions will dictate how the story ends. After the initial playthrough, players can restart the entire story from scratch to unlock a few secret endings and some are outright hilarious, like the Dog ending.

After all, the show has made people who pitched extremely rich, and of course, judges can make a lot of money if they make a deal like the the one that was made Scrub Daddy. On top of that, even David Schwimmer wasn't able to make a deal when he went on the show.
As it turns out, there is something else that people who pitched on Shark Tank had to worry about. If someone pitched what he believed...

As The Challenge: All Stars 4 episodes aired and the final officially wrapped up, seven-time winner Johnny Bananas featured several castmates from the show on his podcast.
All Stars 4 cast members Laurel Stucky, Kam Williams, and Leroy Garrett were among his recent guests.
Laurel won the show, and although Leroy participated in the final with her, he was an early elimination.
Kam didn’t reach the final, having lost during a pivotal elimination matchup against her castmate, Cara Maria Sorbello.
All three cast members had plenty of screen time and intersecting storylines during All Stars 4, which gave them lots to talk about.
However, a fan couldn’t help but point out that The Challenge star’s guests seemed to have a topic in common as they all discussed Cara Maria.

The comedians who put their careers on the line to expose Louis C.K.’s long history of sexual harassment are finally getting the theatrical release that the #MeToo movement denied I Love You, Daddy.
Almost seven years ago, Louis C.K. released a statement to The New York Times openly admitting that the accusations made against him by numerous female comics regarding sexual harassment and misconduct were completely true, even after he and his associates spent years shooting down such claims and professionally retaliating against the accusers. C.K.’s admission only came after the distributor for I Love You, Daddy canceled the premiere of C.K.’s film about his complicated feelings toward Woody Allen amidst the mounting accusations, and the ensuing fallout brought C.K.’s burgeoning career to a screeching halt.

Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to “Daddy,” a sci-fi film that will be released in 2024.
The news comes as Anchor Bay is being relaunched after Umbrelic Entertainment chiefs Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz bought the company’s trademark. Anchor Bay was included in Starz’s 2016 sale to Lionsgate. Under Zambeck and Katz, Anchor Bay is looking to release genre films and cult favorites.
In the case of “Daddy,” the movie was co-written and co-directed by Neal Kelley and Jono Sherman in their feature debut. It stars Yuriy Sardarov (“Chicago Fire”), Jacqueline Toboni (“The L Word: Generation Q”), Pomme Koch (“WeCrashed“) and Britt Baron (“Glow”).
The film is set in a dystopian society where the state has the power to determine who can and cannot father children. Four men attend a government-mandated retreat in the remote mountains of California. When they arrive, there’s no guide or instructions waiting for them.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who is set to revisit his 1985 telefilm ‘Janam’ with a theatrical adaptation, shared that the same feelings and emotions still exist, saying the story is relevant in today’s time.
‘Janam’ was a groundbreaking film for its time, not only for its raw portrayal of a sensitive topic but also for its creator’s willingness to share his own experiences.
The film, which starred Kumar Gaurav and Shernaz Patel, received critical acclaim and was even included in the Panorama section of the 1986 International Film Festival of India.
The film, a semi-autobiographical exploration of an illegitimate son’s struggle for recognition from his father, will be brought back to life on stage with Bhatt’s protege Imran Zahid playing the lead role.

The Egghead Buster Call could set a precedent for more islands being targeted for destruction due to the threat posed by the Straw Hat Pirates. The safety of Dr. Vegapunk is a major concern in this arc, as his death would count as a loss for the Straw Hats. The Straw Hat Pirates must either escape Egghead before the Buster Call or stand their ground and defeat their enemies to ensure their safety.
Things have taken a turn for the worse in One Piece's Egghead Arc. Chapter 1104, "Thank You, Daddy," concluded with St. Jaygarcia Saturn ordering a Buster Call on the technologically advanced island. Now this sounds right up Jason Bateman’s alley. Deadline reports that Jason Bateman is set to star in and direct a series adaptation of David Gauvey Herbert’s Esquire magazine article Daddy Ball for Netflix and Aggregate.
Daddy Ball deals with dad-on-dad youth sports rivalries, but on the Long Island Inferno, two fathers, both with complicated pasts, took it all too far. There were claims of stalking, corrupt cops, and mob connections. Neither man was ever the same. Daddy Ball, which will be retitled for the series, has the potential to be exactly the type of dark comedy that Jason Bateman excels at.
Related Interview: Kate Beckinsale and Ken Jeong Talk Fool’s Paradise

Film director and screenwriter Ashim Ahluwalia spoke about the challenges of adapting Spanish drama ‘Elite’ for an Indian audience and making the web series ‘Class’. He said the biggest responsibility was retaining the characters from the original story.
He shared: “‘Class’ is an Indian adaptation of the global series ‘Elite’, and is something I was very excited about. Rather than just making a localised copy, I used the Spanish show in the way that one would use a source novel as a starting point for something altogether new. It’s not just about recreating a show for Indian audiences, but also about bringing a unique perspective and cultural context to the story.”

Following one of their better months of late, Criterion ring in the second half of 2022 (I know) with a pendulum swing between recent cult favorites and pre-war noir, with a Sidney Poitier western in-between for good measure. A little “oh wow” escaped me seeing they’ll release Ronald Bronstein’s Frownland, a new entry in the feel-bad canon and fine companion to Josh and Benny Safdie’s Daddy Longlegs; at least both have fittingly off-putting cover art.
Sidney Poitier’s Buck and the Preacher gets a well-stocked disc to nicely boost a film I rarely (probably for no good reason) hear word of, while last year’s Faya dayi gets its own canonization with a disc emphasizing director Jessica Beshir’s career to date. And Marcel Carné’s Hôtel du Nord? Unseen by me, but come on—look at that cover. Of course I’m going to love it.

When Anupam Kher entered Bollywood as an actor in the 1980s, the industry was ruled by Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt, among others. While most of them established themselves as style icons, Anupam was experiencing a hair fall problem. He says his conviction made him flaunt his bald look.

"I have never thought that I will come and direct a film like 'Sadak 2' after 20 years, but you know, I am not intending to call it my second innings or a new beginning as a filmmaker. It just happened... I do not know what tomorrow brings but I am certainly not getting into that phase with lots of scripts where I will keep on directing films," Bhatt told Ians here.

ProfileAishwarya shot to fame with her performance as a slumdweller and mother of two young kids in the critically acclaimed ‘Kaaka Muttai’.CV AravindShe first attracted attention in the inane slapstick comedy show Asathapovadu Yaru on Sun TV but it was her dancing abilities showcased in the reality show Maanada Mayilada, which she won, that brought her film offers. Some of her earlier films, like Avargalum Ivargalum, Rummy and Pannaiyaarum Padminiyum, were washouts at the box office. It was the Manikandan directed Kaaka Muttai that did the star turn for the young actor Aishwarya Rajesh, whose performance as a slumdweller and mother of two young kids was widely appreciated. Not many actors eyeing a foothold in cinema would have jumped at the opportunity to play a young mother at such an early stage in their career. The role, entirely shorn of glamour, had a lot of potential. Shot almost entirely in the slums of Chennai,...

A Brighter Summer Day (Edward Yang)
One of the most-requested Criterion releases finally arrives today. Edward Yang‘s four-hour coming-of-age/crime drama A Brighter Summer Day is now beautifully restored in 4K for one of the most essential Blu-rays of the year. Having recently had the chance to see it in a theatrical setting (for the first time), I was enthralled by the experience, as if genuinely getting wrapped up in a great novel, peppered with countless details...

Dreams and hallucinations can be the broadest of horror staples. Throw in some weird imagery, maybe a few jarring cuts, and you have an instant scare. But an effective dream sequence is more than technique, it’s a filmmaker capturing a specific type of fear: losing control, having your life shattered, or meeting a manifestation of your guilt. The dream or the hallucination is the character’s psyche putting the pieces together or falling apart completely. Of course, dreams don’t always require messages. Sometimes, they’re just damn scary.

Aliens (1986)- Ripley’s nightmare
Aliens is the perfect sequel for many reasons. It follows in the footsteps of the original 1979 classic while existing as its own entity and delivering new characters that are just as memorable as the first’s. What’s more, it favors high-tension action scenes over more traditional horror-centric scenes, demonstrating the malleability of the series.

Film Nerd 2.0 is an ongoing series in which we explore the ways we share media with our kids, particularly those of us who grew up deeply in love with movies. The media landscape has changed completely, and parents need to be more engaged than ever in what their kids watch and what they take from that entertainment. "Daddy, why did the Karate Kid Johnny die?" When "The Outsiders" was released in 1983, I was 13, and I already dearly loved the S.E. Hinton novel. It's melodramatic as hell, but that's how it feels to be a teenager, no matter what era you're talking about. I may not have had to deal with Socs or Greasers, but navigating the turbulent emotional landscape of adolescence was something that informed every line of Hinton's book. Francis Ford Coppola's film is burnished and beautiful, and it featured a young cast made up of actors on...
