Malcolm's beloved motorbike is said to be a 1939 red valve Norton 500cc, with a 1936 Garrard sidecar (reg: KHN 712).
Brenda's bedroom shows her to be an Everton FC fan.
Author Jim Hitchmough adapted the first season into a book: "Watching" (ISBN) 0553402080 / 978-0553402087), published by Bantam Books on 23rd March 1990.
Predating the TV series by two years, on Wednesday 3rd April 1985 BBC Radio 4 broadcast "Watching" as part of their 3pm "Afternoon Play" strand. Sue Jenkins played Brenda, whilst Bernard Latham was Malcolm; Tony Cliff directed Jim Hitchmough's script for BBC Manchester.
Terry Milton's battered olive green MG convertible (NDK 521M) also appeared in Three Men and a Mangle (1989), in a far better state of repair.
