Some more photos from the set of Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey have been doing the rounds online, and this time we have another look at Matt Damon's Odysseus as he prepares to enter the cave of the Cyclops known as Polyphemus.
Filming for these scenes is taking place at Nestor’s Cave in Greece, and we have heard that a 6x6m mechanical animatronic puppet of Polyphemus was created for the sequence.
Unfortunately, we don't have any shots of the monster himself, but we'll be sure to update if any find their way online.
In the original story, Polyphemus was the son of Poseidon, god of the sea, and the nymph Thoösa. Odysseus and his men were captured by the cyclops when they were cast ashore on the coast of Sicily. Polyphemus devoured several of Odysseus' companions before the legendary hero managed to blind the giant...

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is one of the most original entries in the series to date. As the first mainline entry to place Princess Zelda in the protagonist role, Echoes of Wisdom's unique premise and new mechanics set the title apart from previous Zelda entries that took a more traditional approach. However, it has since been revealed that the original premise for Echoes of Wisdom was a lot different to what players ended up receiving.
Despite Echoes of Wisdom's appeal as a unique entry in the Zelda series, the game was originally intended to better reflect some of the more iconic titles in the franchise. While Echoes of Wisdom may share many similarities to past entries, the game ultimately went in its own direction, and it's safe to say that the developers behind the latest title made the right choice. As incredible as many past Zelda entries have been,...

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is one of the most creative entries in the series, and it has raised my expectations for how boss fights are handled. Echoes of Wisdom isn’t just unique because it’s the first Legend of Zelda game to actually put Zelda in the starring role, but also because of its unique item system. The game’s mechanics allow for a lot of creative problem-solving which applies to all aspects of the game, including boss battles.
Bosses in The Legend of Zelda series have changed a lot over the years. In many of their incarnations, Zelda bosses have had obvious weak spots or proved vulnerable to a specific item, typically whatever item players would have been most recently acquired in the boss’s accompanying dungeon. However, Echoes of Wisdom takes a very new approach to this formula. After getting used to the game...

It's good being the God of War in Percy Jackson and the Olympians' universe.
In a conversation with Screen Rant, Adam Copeland expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play Ares on Disney+'s hit TV adaptation and what lies in store for his future in Percy Jackson's story. "I realize that actors wait their entire careers to get on a show like this and some never do. I don't look past it at all, and I realize what a gift I've been given with the writing and with the character of Ares, because it's the kind of character that is just open for exploration," Copeland said.

One of the prolific young actor ensembles in Hollywood in the 1980s was the Brat Pack. A label coined by journalist David Blum in 1985, the Brat Pack was a play on the term, the Rat Pack, led by Frank Sinatra in the '60s. The core group consisted of Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Andrew McCarthy. By Blum's definition, the Brat Pack was composed of the main young actors in the two successful 1985 movies "The Breakfast Club" and "St. Elmo's Fire."
The actors in the Brat Pack would appear together in a number of films throughout the '80s and early '90s, including projects before 1985. For the purposes of this article, an official Brat Pack movie needs to feature at least two actors from the previously mentioned ensemble, rather than simply just one. With 12 movies from the...

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has been a major success, delighting both newcomers and franchise veterans alike with its unique gameplay and intriguing story. For many long-time fans, there has been an ongoing question as to where Echoes of Wisdom falls in the massive Zelda timeline. Fortunately, Nintendo has recently revealed where exactly the game falls in the timeline, and it has some exciting implications for where the franchise could be headed in the future.
With so many games spanning nearly forty years, figuring out the chronological order of Legend of Zelda's timeline can be daunting. It gets even more complicated when considering the fact that there are multiple branching timelines based on specific outcomes from prior games. Fortunately, Nintendo has done all the hard work of tying all its games together, and it has left some interesting implications for what's to come.

Emilio Estevez made his big screen debut at the age of 11 in the film "Badlands," Terrence Malick's mood drama starring Emilio's father Ramón Estévez, who was better known by his screen name Martin Sheen. When Emilio was 14, he flew with his father to the Philippines for another film shoot. Sheen was playing the lead role in Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now," and the young Emilio was hired to appear as an extra. Sadly, his scenes were cut, but Estevez was inspired by his experience to write a play called "Echoes of an Era," and perform in the lead role. He was officially an actor like his father.
After graduating high school, Estevez eschewed college and entered show business. What followed was a decades-long and prolific career that brought him into the center of the Hollywood mainstream. In the 1980s, Estevez was part of a generation of rising actors...

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Still World breaks a certain Zelda tradition, but it may be for the worse. It's no secret how Echoes of Wisdom sets itself apart from previous Zelda entries, as it ignores many of the series' conventions. From Princess Zelda herself becoming the protagonist to the new Echo mechanic that's introduced, Echoes of Wisdom goes out of its way to carve a new path forward for the series to follow.
Many of Echoes of Wisdom's new implementations elevate the overall experience, as they shake up the traditional Zelda formula in an intriguing way. The Echo mechanic, for example, forces the player to change how they may approach puzzles or combat scenarios, which makes them far more engaging than previous titles' more typical approach. However, not all changes are made equally. The introduction of the Still World breaks a common tradition of alternate worlds in...

Demi Moore and Rob Lowe are counted among the best stars that came out from the Brat Pack genre of films in the 1980s. Brat Pack referred to a group of young actors who co-starred in many coming-of-age films of that time. The Sheikah scientist Lueburry in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom continues an interesting tradition found in recent games. Met early in the course of the game, Lueburry is one of Echoes of Wisdoms more important NPCs, being responsible for the various upgrades to Zeldas Swordfighter Form. Moreover, despite being a newcomer to Zelda canon, Lueburry also follows a fun trend that strongly ties him to many other Sheikah characters.
Although Echoes of Wisdoms Hyrule places much less emphasis on technology, Lueburry himself continues something of a family specialty with his own research into Rifts. As a scientific-minded older sibling to Impa, he shares a striking similarity to Purah from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. However, among the many small details included in Echoes of Wisdom is one that ties Lueburry even closer to both his family across the eras and many other members of...

Demi Moore moved around a lot in her childhood, and her life wasn't wholly rosy. As she's described it, Moore frequently relocated around the U.S., struggling with her mother and her stepfathers, and often finding herself malnourished. When she was 16, Moore dropped out of high school and took a job as a receptionist at 20th Century Fox. She signed a modest modeling contract and was making ends meet. Her next door neighbor was, it turned out, Nastassja Kinski, and the German actor encouraged Moore to take acting classes. She continued to model while working her way into films, making her debut in the 1981 movie "Choices." The following year, Moore appeared in the 3-D monster movie "Parasite."
These were the first two steps in a career that experienced a massive upward trajectory. By 1984, Moore was already playing lead characters in major studio productions.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom makes a lot of changes to gameplay compared to other titles in the series, particularly by putting Zelda in the leading role without the classic sword and shield combination to fight evil. As the most recent game in a long-running franchise, there are plenty of references to previous titles scattered throughout the game's world. However, one reference seems to explain the setting of a classic Zelda game.
Echoes of Wisdom borrows Link's Awakening's remake style in terms of design. But this time, Zelda takes the position of hero instead of Link. While Echoes of Wisdom makes some changes when it comes to gameplay, it keeps the heart of what makes the franchise beloved alive. Additionally, one piece of the game's lore seems to answer some questions about a Zelda game that's over two decades old now.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has a lot of useful accessories for Zelda to equip, but there's really only one choice for the one she should be using most of the time. Although most of the outfits in Echoes of Wisdom are simply cosmetic, accessories are anything but, providing useful buffs to core attributes and abilities. From increasing her swim speed to preventing the effects of quicksand, these trinkets can manage a lot, even if some effects are more applicable to specific areas and boss fights than to the game as a whole.
Zelda starts out with only one accessory slot in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and although this can eventually change, the game instills the concept of choosing wisely early on. In the first few regions of the game, there's an argument to be made that the best accessory choice is a toss-up, and...

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom draws a lot of inspiration from both old and new Zelda games, and one item that finally returns has been absent from the series for way too long. Re-using and remixing the ideas of past games has always been a staple of the series, and it's not uncommon for concepts that don't show up for a while to end up finding a home again. As the first completely new top-down game in over a decade, it's not surprising that Echoes of Wisdom resurrects a lot of dormant material.
What makes The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom especially flexible is its item duplication system, which allows every enemy and plenty of objects to serve dual purposes as echoes. It stands to reason that including as many interesting echoes as possible would be a big priority, and enemies like Torch Slugs that had been...

A vital new addition to The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is the ability to collect accessories that boost different stats. Although this was a common feature in Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, many of the previous structured Legend of Zelda games did not have any accessories outside the special area additions to Link's collection. For Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, accessories are essential for exploration and moving through the game more easily.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom gives the titular Princess her moment to shine, but an inventive fan has managed to make franchise staple Link playable. After nearly forty years, Nintendo finally provided diehard enthusiasts what they've been asking for by making Zelda the star of her own standalone adventure and while the move has been well-received, there's something to be said about playing as everyone's favorite hero. Doing so requires some complicated inputs and expert timing, so those who want to try it out will need to practice.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has an unusual approach to loot. Seeking out and opening chests has almost always been a major part of the Zelda experience - it's basically what guides exploration. Chests grant not only necessary expendables, like bombs, arrows, and rupees, but also new tools. Some of them even contain maps and compasses that help players find even more chests in turn. The ultimate goal of every single classic Zelda dungeon is to find and open a special, more colorful chest, which opens the way to the dungeon's boss and eventual completion.
Even in modern Zelda, chests are absolutely everywhere. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom likely each have thousands of chests, dotted all around their respective maps of Hyrule. Players may spot them in the distance while exploring shrines, find them buried in the dirt, or even just come upon them...

Players needing an additional boost in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom can use the smoothie blending mechanic to create powerful potions. Similar to the Elixir cooking mechanic in Breath of the Wild, cooking Monster Parts with certain ingredients will instead yield potions with various buffs. As one may assume, the two different Monster Parts, specifically Monster Fangs and Monster Guts, can be obtained by defeating enemies across Hyrule.
Similar to Golden Smoothies, these potions will provide the maximum duration of their respective buffs, just without any additional healing. However, potions do not require the limited Golden Egg ingredient, meaning they are more readily available for anyone to craft. Here are all possible combinations of Monster Fangs, Monster Guts, and special ingredients for potions.
Monster Guts Strong Buffs For Defense And Damage Resistance
Mixing potions with Monster Guts seems to provide the strongest defensive buff options between the two different Monster Parts.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a truly wonderful time that reminds us of why 2D Zelda games still matter, combining classic dungeon-crawling and item progression with the freedom brought forth by the series’ recent entries.

The unfortunate reality of the Zelda community, however, is that many continue to question Nintendo’s decision to go for a top-down, 2D game design with a toy-like aesthetic, considering these elements to be a step backward in the wake of the company’s other massive 3D open-world titles. But as Eiji Aonuma himself would tell you, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Quick Links How To Defeat Smog (Phase 1) How To Defeat Smog (Phases 2 & 3) Rewards For Beating Smog
Smog is a mini-boss you can face during one of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's side quests, with an important reward being offered for those who beat it. This enemy wants to play a game through a three-phase boss fight. You'll have to recognize this creature's rules to manipulate the battlefield and beat this living thundercloud at its own game.
You can encounter Smog as you explore the Eastern Temple dungeon, a place filled with puzzles. Clearing this dungeon is part of the "Let's Play a Game" side quest offered by the character Sago, who is found west of the Crossflows Plaza in the Zora region. Sago is standing right outside the Temple, making him relatively easy to spot from your horse in Echoes of Wisdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom isn't like any Zelda game that came before, but it does take plenty of inspiration from its predecessors. Echoes of Wisdom wears some recent influences on its sleeve, like the art style brought over from the Link's Awakening remake and the tinkering that Tears of the Kingdom emphasized only a year before. Other concepts have lurked in the background of the series for much longer, however, and Echoes of Wisdom just happens to find a way to rework old gimmicks toward entirely new aims.
While the development of Zelda games over time is often tied to its most landmark entries, like A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time, the series has never been willing to universally discard ideas found in the less iconic titles. For one example, the stylus-controlled movement of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks might never have appeared again,...

The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom may be the earliest series of events players have seen. This game includes events only mentioned in prologues of other games, and characters that set the stage for events fans are more than familiar with. This will be the first mainline game that features Zelda as the lead protagonist, a small move implying that audiences may finally be seeing the titular legend in The Legend of Zelda. But there is ample evidence outside that these are the events that started it all.
The events in Echoes of Wisdom certainly set the stage for events in other games, such as the origins of the Triforce. While there have been multiple theories over when Echoes of Wisdom takes place in the overall Zelda timeline, the evidence that this is actually one of the earliest events in the timeline is overwhelming, suggesting it takes place before Skyward Sword.

Nintendo's next big release, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, has leaked online, causing frustration from both fans and Nintendo due to potential spoilers. Echoes of Wisdom is due to launch on September 26, and will continue the top-down, colorful-and-cute style of 2013's Switch release, A Link Between Worlds.
A leaked Rom of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom came to light over the weekend, as spotted by Redditor 43eyes (via IGN). According to the user, a video of someone playing the unreleased game appeared on 4Chan, but quickly made its way to YouTube before it was copyright-claimed by Nintendo. While the gameplay may not be available via YouTube anymore, it's worth any eager fans wishing to avoid spoilers being wary across social media due to the chances of reposts. Nintendo is doing its best to take down any spoilers before more eyes are laid on the footage.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a pioneering game for the iconic series, being the first to feature the eponymous princess in a playable role, but it's still set to inherit many Zelda staples. Alongside its dungeons and Rupee-giving destructible pottery, the series has long been known to feature a variety of recurring characters. From humble merchants to the physical manifestation of deities, each Zelda game is packed with familiar faces, and even characters who bear a striking resemblance to others, even if they ultimately don't share a name.
There isn't really an in-universe explanation for why characters appear mostly unchanged in Hyrule's different eras. Direct sequels with familiar casts, like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, aren't especially common, and there's never any justification for why Beedle, for instance, operates an airborne shop in Skyward Sword, then reappears almost identically, running a similar business...

Echoes of Wisdom is a long-awaited return to the series' 2D roots, but seems to have a significant amount of influence from Breath of the Wild. A new trailer for Echoes of Wisdom revealed that it will include an Adventure Log almost identical to the one in Botw. Zelda games didn't have quest logs before Botw, suggesting a continued increase in scope for side quests.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will certainly be a departure from the series' most recent entries, but it is carrying over a significant addition introduced by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The 2017 game brought something of a reinvention to the storied Nintendo franchise, opting for an open-world physics sandbox rather than the tightly designed action-adventure experiences that preceded it. Echoes of Wisdom is at least in part a return to form, embracing the Zelda series' 2D roots, but its inheritance...

Key Takeaways: The Brats documentary explores the lasting impact of the "Brat Pack" label on 1980s young actors. Each Brat Pack member had a different reaction to the negative label, affecting their careers differently. Despite initial negative reactions, the Brat Pack actors have learned to navigate and thrive beyond the label.
The Brats documentary on Hulu explores the impact of the "Brat Pack" label on young actors in the 1980s, particularly the ones who agreed to be part of the documentary. The actors starred in the quintessential 1980s Brat Pack movies that centered on the experiences of young people and defined their times. The Brats documentary comes from the mind of director and official Brat Pack member Andrew McCarthy, from St. Elmo's Fire (1985) and Pretty in Pink (1986). He explores the label's lasting effect in interviews with his fellow Brat Pack members nearly four decades after a New York Magazine article coined the term.

Thanks to a journalist that coined the moniker the Brat Pack, a specific group of superstar actors dominated popular culture in the 1980s with the films they made. While there isn’t an official list of who is considered a member of the famous group, actors and actresses associated with the name include Ally Sheedye, Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson, Demi Moore, Anthony Michael Hall and Andrew McCarthy. Several other actors that appeared in films with that circle like Robert Downey Jr., John Cusack, Ben Stiller and more.
Andrew McCarthy’s Hulu documentary Brats reunited many of the famous faces who became part of the crew when a New York Magazine writer called them by the name in 1985. In honor of this documentary, which is now available to stream on Hulu, we’ve gathered nine Brat Pack films that are available to stream. Unfortunately, Oxford Blues (1984) and Wisdom (1986) are not currently streaming.

In June 1985, a young group of talented actors was ready to take the world by storm as the release of Joel Schumacher‘s “St. Elmo’s Fire” approached. Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, and Demi Moore had already done fine work in other films both together and apart, but “St. Elmo’s Fire” was the best showcase any of them had ever gotten, in an era when youth movies were better and more numerous than they had ever been before. Nothing stood in the way of their becoming the next generation of great American screen actors — except for a New York magazine writer named David Blum.

Paladins are Baldur's Gate 3's holy warriors, blending together the heavy armour and melee attacks of a Fighter with powerful martial magic. They're a hybrid between melee bruisers and spellcasters, and have many of the best qualities of both. Unlike all of the other classes in the game, Paladins are also bound by Oaths, which can be upheld or broken by your narrative decisions.
Before going for a single-class Paladin build, it's worth seriously considering multiclassing as a Paladin in Baldur's Gate 3. Paladins mainly rely on their Strength and Charisma stats so other classes that prioritize these stats, such as Warlock or Bard, will have some nice synergy. However, even without multiclassing,...

Genshin Impact’s Orchard of Pairidaeza is one of Version 3.4’s main new areas and an in-game point of interest. However, access to it is quite limited as players have to complete a few prerequisite tasks before being able to reach it. The Orchard of Pairidaeza is also known as the Eternal Oasis and is located directly below Desert of Hadramaveth’s severe sandstorm in Mt. Damavand. It is an underground location, but simply walking toward it through mere tunnel entrances will not provide results.
[Warning: This article contains mild spoilers for Genshin Impact 3.4.]The Orchard of Pairidaeza in Genshin Impact is actually a cemetery for the Goddess of Flowers, made by King Deshret in her honor. Full access to it in Genshin Impact’s Desert of Hadramaveth is granted by the World Quest “The Eternal Dream, Ever Lush.” However, the quest itself requires that a considerably long list of previous quests are completed. Because of this, players will...

This weekend marked the final drop of this year's Disney Wisdom collection, which featured a new character, inspirational film quote, and color every month. December's addition is the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, looking resplendent in pink as she reminds us that miracles take time! But the Disney Wisdom collection isn't here for long! Every month's addition has been limited edition, and many of the characters and quotes—like Mushu from Mulan, Baloo from The Jungle Book, and Dumbo—have completely sold out....

Rapsody recruits D’Angelo and Gza and samples the Wu-Tang Clan rapper’s classic 1995 solo single “Liquid Swords” on her new song “Ibtihaj.”
The rapper also unveiled the new video for “Ibtihaj,” an ode to fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, the first American to wear a hijab while competing for the United States at the Olympics.
On “Ibtihaj,” D’Angelo delivers a woozy take on the famed “Liquid Swords” chorus, while Gza himself appears in the video to revisit the song and contribute a fresh verse to 9th Wonder’s RZA-sampling beat.

Looking back on last year’s Oscar race as this year’s contest starts to heat up, it struck me that not enough was made of the fact that Greta Gerwig with “Lady Bird” and Jordan Peele with “Get Out” achieved what they did as actors who went behind the camera. Both made history as only the fifth woman and the fifth African-American to be nominated for Best Director. Peele also became the first black winner of Best Original Screenplay.
It also got me thinking how some actors often fare better in the industry once they redefine themselves as filmmakers. Who knows? Clint Eastwood might still be making spaghetti Westerns, doing “Dirty Harry” sequels or working with an orangutan if he didn’t shoot his first feature, “Play Misty for Me,” in 1971. Instead, he won both Best Picture and Best Director for 1992’s “Unforgiven” and 2004’s “Million Dollar Baby.”
