The original film elements were thought to have been lost, until 2021, when North American anime distributor, Discotek Media, located them in a Japanese film archive. All previous DVD editions of the film, including the Japanese releases, had to be produced from existing video sources.

Goofs
After the alien ship destroys the space station, the resulting wreckage floats across the screen towards the left comes to a complete stop. In the next shot, the debris is moving once again.

Alternate versions
The original VHS release in Japan, as well as the initial English-language releases, present the image in a matted widescreen format reflecting how it would have been seen in cinemas. The Japanese "Perfect Edition" laserdisc contained a full-frame open matte version at a 4:3 ratio, revealing more of the image than was seen in the widescreen version, and this version was later used for the 2002 Collector's Edition release in the US. The 2021 Blu-ray from Discotek contains both widescreen and full frame versions.

Crazy, fun Anime about the Ultimate Schoolgirl

Though flawed this is a great and sometimes hilarious anime about a schoolgirl named A-Ko and her friend C-Ko. Meanwhile The Psychotic rich-girl B-Ko wants to have C-Ko as her friend and her friend alone. And this is while Earth is under attack by alien women who look like men. And it gets stranger. With more anime in-jokes that you can shake a Veritech Fighter (Ya know, Robotech... oh never mind) this baby is jam packed with cheeky good fun. And can you find the real alien princess? You'll figure it out after the movie.
