Renny Harlin’s career has come full circle, from low-budget horror and action films like Born American and Prison through blockbusters such as Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger before reverting back to budget-minded films like The Bricklayer and this film, Refuge. This time around, he’s bringing the horrors of war back home as a soldier’s encounter with the unexplained threatens the lives of everyone around him.
Sergeant Rick Pedroni is serving somewhere in Afghanistan when his unit takes a group of Taliban prisoner. Questioned about a nearby cave, they say there’s no more of them in there, in fact, none of them would go in there. Rick volunteers to check it out.

This Power Rangers Beast Morphers review contains spoilers.
Beast Morphers has been in real danger of being one of several Power Rangers seasons that might only be remembered for having a team-up. It’s happened before with Wild Force, Operation Overdrive, Super Megaforce, and Super Ninja Steel. These were all seasons that were heavily critcized by fans so the team-ups, whatever their quality, easily took all the spotlight. To this day those seasons usually only come up in discussion because of their team-ups.
With all the news of returning cast members for Beast Morphers, especially the original Red Ranger, it could be very easy for this season to fall into that category. However, unlike those other seasons I mentioned, Beast Morphers has an overall higher quality. Sure it has some issues but there are a lot of bright spots so it’s very possible it won’t be eclipsed and...

Film sales veteran Michael F. Goldman, who helped launch the American Film Market, died of complications from Parkinson’s Disease on June 9 in Los Angeles. He was 80.
Goldman built and owned the international film sales company Manson International, a business that had been started in 1953 by his father Edmund, after leaving Columbia Pictures in 1953. Goldman joined Manson in 1962 upon graduating from UCLA and took over its operations in 1975.
Goldman was a founding member of the the American Film Marketing Association (which became the Independent Film & Television Alliance), representing independent producers and distributors worldwide. He helped launch the American Film Market in 1981. He served as Afma’s first CFO at inception and was elected Chairman of the board in 1984-85 and 1991-93. He remained active in the organization throughout its first 25 years, serving on the board and elected to its executive committee as vice chairman-secretary in 1999-2001.
