Busterburger University is a parody of McDonald's Hamburger University, an actual campus used to train management and franchise owners.
The movie was filmed at College of the Canyons in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California.
The Busterburger scenes were filmed at the Campos Burritos restaurant in the Winnetka neighborhood of Los Angeles. The exterior was completely remodeled, and many locals walked in thinking it was a real new restaurant. The location still stands, and is now a Popeye's.
The movie is perhaps best known for the character Lyman Vunk (Charles Tyner), the founder and chairman of Busterburger, who utters the phrase "Put those cookies back, motherfucker!," and for his voluptuous trophy wife (Randi Brooks).
