She had what it takes.

Only one small part which I felt was a disingenuous bit of personal melodrama, marred an otherwise good human interest story.

You get a feel for this woman's determination to become a firefighter. It demonstrates how much physical stamina is required to "make the grade".

Her persistence despite opposition from some men due to bias, and negative attitudes, (this was still apparent in the 80's) was inspiring.

The plotline is pretty straight forward; apart from producers continually portraying fictitious events and characters instead of sticking to the story.

It isn't an "action" movie, so appreciate it for what it is; don't say it is boring, or dull.

The ladder truck that serves as Ladder 107 - a 1985 Scot/Pierreville (at Cindy's primary firehall) was an actual working fire truck at the time of filming. It was the ladder truck for the North Vancouver City Fire Department (whose hall also served as Firehall #107). The truck was in service from 1985-2002.
