Blanca Marsillach is trash talked on the extras of the DVD version of the film. The actors and crew persons who worked on the film have said that she was very troublesome and unliked by everyone during the filming and even that one of the film's producers left her at the airport and punched her in the face. In an 2016 interview for Severin about the making of the film, Brett Halsey said Marsillach was a bad actress and a troublemaker.
When this film was released, Blanca Marsillach said, "I do not consider myself prudish, but I sincerely believe that Lucio (Fulci) has gone too far". Marsillach was scandalized when she contemplated herself in this film where she plays some explicit sex scenes.
In the original Italian version "Il miele del diavolo", some character's names are different than the international version ('Gaetano' instead of 'Johnny', 'Cecilia' instead of 'Jessica', 'Guido Domenici' instead of 'Wendell Simpson' and 'Carol Domenici' instead of 'Carol Simpson').
