Aakhree Raasta (1986)

Trivia

Aakhree Raasta

Edit
' AAKHREE RAASTA ' is still considered as Amitabh Bachchan's one of the finest performances to date .
On the first day of shooting, to test the director's capability, although Amitabh Bachchan had the full script with him, he asked the director, 'If you can explain how the whole scene will be taken, it will be good for me to prepare everything mentally.' Amitabh wanted to check whether the director was prepared or not. Even before the director finished narrating the whole scene, Amitabh said he understands and thinks he can manage now.
As the original screenplay was translated into Hindi and the director didn't know Hindi. Every morning, Amitabh Bachchan would go through the script and ask the director to deliver the dialogs in Tamil so that he would understand whether the emotion had been conveyed properly in Hindi. The director used to emote all the scenes for the benefit of the others.
The film was earlier titled Qaid Ki Diary.
Anupam Kher was approached for the main villain's role. He declined it as he saw the original film and thought the friends role was more powerful. Sadashiv Amrapurkar was then signed for the villain's role.
