These days he may play a spy mastermind on Quantico, but when Blair Underwood first set foot on the L.A. Law soundstage in 1987, “I was a baby,” he tells TVLine.
The 21-year-old had filmed guest spots on series like Scarecrow & Mrs. King and The Cosby Show and was a cast member on the short-lived crime drama Downtown (opposite future Svu queen Mariska Hargitay). But when he arrived at the legal offices of McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak, “I was a baby,” Underwood recalls, laughing.

There's always a time and place for nostalgia, but when it comes to movies from the 1980s, it goes beyond that. Throughout the decade, we hit cinematic milestone after cinematic milestone, with franchises being born that still resonate and fuel the box office today, some three decades removed. We can look at 2014 and see some good movies on the horizon. But when we look back at a year like 1984, its breathtaking to see how many seminal pieces of pop culture were born into existence. 1982 is sometimes called the greatest year for genre movies of all time, with an eye on science fiction. But 1984 goes maybe a step beyond that. These 12 months were jam packed with truly timeless classics. You may be awestruck staring at what came exactly 30 years ago. Nothing has quite topped it for sheer year-round, non-stop entertainment. These are 30 great movies that are turning 30 in 2014!

Nominees for the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards were announced this morning, and once again AMC's Mad Men is leading the way with 19 nominations. However, this year the show has some serious competition in the form of HBO's Boardwalk Empire, which received 18 nods, and Game of Thrones, which had 13. Elsewhere, Modern Family looks poised to repeat its success in most of the comedy categories, while the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce starring Kate Winslet earned more nominations than anything else with a total of 21. Breaking Bad is notably absent this year due to the fact that the show took a break in between seasons, and some people seem to be upset that David Simon's Treme did not get a single mention anywhere. Are you happy with this year's nominees? Are there any other major snubs? Check out the full list of Emmy nominations after the jump. Drama Boardwalk Empire (HBO) Dexter...

The 2011 Emmy nominations are here: AMC’s Mad Men and ABC’s Modern Family led the TV Academy’s nominees Thursday morning, while two HBO new dramas challenged the pack. First-year shows Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones had strong showings that included cracking the best drama series category. Another new drama, AMC’s The Killing, picked up some honors as well. (Our snubs list is here)
It was a tight race to land the most nominations: Mad Men tallied 19, followed by 18 for Boardwalk Empire (including a best actor nod for Steve Buscemi), 17 for Modern Family (including a near sweep...

News on the march…!
To summarize… I Will Follow will expand to 10 more screens this weekend, with plans to continue to push into even more AMC theaters, but also integrating independent venues, like The Downtown Independent in Los Angeles, and special one-night engagements in a number of cities; and, maybe even more significant, the film will make its international debut with screenings in London and Toronto planned for April.
No box office numbers released for this past weekend though… at least, they aren’t mentioned in the below press release sent out early this morning, so nothing to report there. I did notice that Box Office Mojo has picked up coverage of the film (it wasn’t listed on the site last week); although the site only has totals through the previous, opening weekend, which have already been reported. I’m sure they’ll be released soon enough…
