Second of two Harold Pinter written movies featuring Sir Ben Kingsley. The first being Trahisons conjugales (1983).
This movie was filmed in July, August, and September 1984.
The name under which children's author Neaera Duncan (Glenda Jackson) wrote children's books, was the pseudonym "Delia Swallow".
Glenda Jackson played a character who is a writer of children's books. Author Russell Hoban has written several books for children and young adults such as "Letitia Rabbit's String Song", "The Story of Hester Mouse: Who Became a Writer" and one which has been made into a full length animated movie, The Mouse and His Child (1977). Also, made-for-television and written by Hoban, was Noël en musique (1977).
Sir Ben Kingsley and Sir Nigel Hawthorne appeared in Gandhi (1982), Freddie as F.R.O.7. (1992), and Twelfth Night or What You Will (1996).
