Regulators, mount up! Young Guns, the beloved Western series that began in 1988, is finally back after 35 years, as star Emilio Estevez officially announced yesterday that Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive will film in New Mexico. The best part? Estevez will not only be returning as Billy the Kid in front of the camera, but he'll also be directing the latest installment, which will also feature original cast member Lou Diamond Phillips, and Christian Slater, who appeared in Young Guns 2 in 1990.
Estevez made the announcement yesterday during Film and Media Day at the State Capitol in Santa Fe along with New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. "The original Young Guns films showcased New Mexico's stunning landscapes to the world and helped establish our state as a premier filming destination," she said, adding:
Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive will add to this legacy, further solidifying New Mexico’s place in the national film industry.

Emilio Estevez will star in and direct Young Guns 3, that’s going to be shooting in New Mexico. More details of the announcement here.
Looking back through the archives of this very site, it was back in 2021 that first word of a possible Young Guns 3 sprung up. John Fusco, as we reported here, was returning after penning the first two movies to write the third. He announced via social media that he was collaborating with Emilio Estevez on getting the film moving.
Sometimes, a story like that comes and goes. This time, it’s actually happening. Overnight, Emilio Estevez announced that Young Guns 3 is definitely happening, and it’s going to be filming in New Mexico.
He confirmed this at a press conference, and straight away admitted that he was aware of jokes such as Old Guns and Aged Guns that were made when news of the project first surfaced.

Guns of Fury emerges as a run ‘n’ gun with Metroidvania elements, drawing on a heritage that honors classic arcade shooters such as Metal Slug while reinterpreting the experience through a modern lens. The game presents an experience where rapid combat interlaces with expansive exploratory segments.
Set against a near-future scenario marked by an energy crisis, the narrative centers on Vincent Fury, a formidable protagonist challenged with thwarting a power-hungry industrialist. His mission carries echoes of diverse cultural narratives, reflecting themes of resilience and the confrontation of centralized power that resonate with audiences worldwide.
The artistic design embraces a retro pixel aesthetic reminiscent of celebrated arcade eras, yet incorporates contemporary design choices aimed at a varied audience.
The soundscape, filled with synthesizer tracks and reminiscent of cinematic scores, reflects a dialogue between Eastern and Western musical traditions. This opening section introduces an analysis of how narrative structure and combat mechanics...

Match #1: Jimmy Uso def. Carmelo Hayes The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After weeks of verbal assaults and surprise attacks, Jimmy Uso and Carmelo Hayes looked to settle the score. Hayes showed out in front of NBA Superstar Tyrese Haliburton, but he could not put Uso away after some scintillating offense. Uso and Hayes traded superkicks and top-rope splashes, but the two athletes kept fighting. After Hayes tried using the ropes in a pinfall attempt, Uso countered and pinned Hayes after slyly hooking the tights.

Book collecting can be an expensive hobby to get into, but some lucky horror fans might secretly have an out-of-print Stephen King book on their shelves that's worth a fair bit of money. Not only that, but the book is likely to never go back into print, which means prices will only go up.
The book is "Rage," published in 1977 under King's pseudonym, Richard Bachman, and copies online can sell for as much as $4,000 Usd, depending on a couple of factors like edition and condition. This one feels a little weird to go out of your way to collect unless you're a die-hard King fanatic, however, as it tells the story of a school shooter and copies of the novel were found connected to several school shootings in the 1980s and 1990s, leading King to intentionally allow it to go out of publication. Though there are many great movies based on banned or controversial books,...

Two years have gone by since we heard that director Steven C. Miller (Silent Night) was heading into production on a werewolf horror film that, at the time, was going by the title Year 2. Earlier this month, the film was given a wide theatrical release in the United States under the title Werewolves – and over the holidays, it was also given a VOD release! Werewolves is available to rent on Amazon for the price of $19.99, or purchase for $24.99.
Starring Frank Grillo of the Purge and Captain America franchises, Werewolves shows us that a supermoon event triggered a latent gene in every human on the planet, turning anyone who entered the moonlight into a werewolf for that one night. Chaos ensued and close to a billion people died. Now, a year later, the Supermoon is back.

Police officers and martial arts movies make a thrilling combination, as the intersection between crime and law has led to some of the most exciting fighting films of all time. While Jackie Chans Police Story may stand as the definitive martial arts cop movie, plenty of other incredible showcases of technical skill, expert choreography, and bafflingly impressive action sequences have utilized cops within their central narrative. From major stars like Donnie Yen to the Girls with Guns stylings of Cynthia Rothrock and Michelle Yeoh, theres no shortage of amazing martial arts cop movies.
Many of the greatest kung fu films of all time have focused on policing, as ongoing investigations commonly serve as the basis for intense, action-packed narratives. Whether its police hunting down a criminal syndicate or a lone no-nonsense cop working toward his own personal version of justice, time and again, law and order have been intrinsically linked to martial arts movies.

Netflix has crowned its latest hit action movie as The Shadow Strays (2024) debuted at the top of the global movie chart. The new movie from director Timo Tjahjanto is the latest in a long line of under the radar action movies that have completely dominated Netflixs streaming charts as soon as they arrive on the platform. This has not been exclusive to new movies either, as several decades-old movies such as Jason Stathams The Mechanic have also found huge success in recent months.
The Shadow Strays is one of a handful of movies to be hailed as the best action movie of the year, joining the likes of Rebel Ridge, which scored an incredible debut earlier in the year and seemed to spark an endless list of action movies finding their way into the top half of the movie chart week after week. Quick Links 2 Guns Features a Fantastic Dynamic Duo Wahlberg and Washington Are a Perfectly Dynamic Pair
Over 10 years ago, veteran actors Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg joined forces for a buddy-cop comedy of explosive proportions. Part action, part comedy, Washington and Wahlberg paired together in a money-heist action film that, despite its flaws, is wholly entertaining. With two dynamic lead stars, an unlikely partnership, and a premise that takes the best of Lethal Weapon and pairs it with the intimate espionage of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, 2 Guns is an entertaining romp.
2 Guns stars Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg as a pair of criminals working together to rob a bank. Unknown to each other, both of the would-be criminals are undercover law enforcement working on separate operations to take down the leader of a drug cartel. Bobby (Washington) is a smooth-talking DEA agent who wants to convict the cartel leader for tax evasion.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is finding success on Netflix. The 2024 movie is the fourth feature-length installment in the long-running franchise, re-teaming Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett respectively, alongside an ensemble cast that also includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Tiffany Haddish, and Joe Pantoliano. Earlier in the year, the Bad Boys: Ride or Die box office made the movie a hit, grossing $404.2 million against its $100 million budget.

Number two film of the summer “Deadpool & Wolverine” (Disney), held back from any home viewing until after its tenth weekend in theaters, took the #1 spot on both iTunes (ranking by transactions) and Fandango (by revenue). But perhaps only for a brief stay.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” (Warner Bros.), a major hit though not quite in the same league as the Marvel sequel ($235 million U.S./Canada gross so far versus $634 million; both films still in the top 10) will likely replace it when released Tuesday on PVOD after its fifth weekend. That feels a little early (32 days), more so since Tim Burton’s sequel is still #3, with over $10 million.
But if anything, it appears PVOD release boosts theatrical play as of late, at least in the short term. In any event, with the opening weekend debacle of “Joker: Folie à Deux” (revised downward to $37.8 million), it will provide some immediate cash to the Burbank studio.

Top Gun: Maverick proves Top Gun needed its original ending. Maverick's need for speed and rivalry with Iceman drive Top Gun's plot, while his romance subplot feels forced. Top Gun's original romantic ending was replaced with a crowd-pleasing alternative, leaving out Maverick's character growth.
Although Top Guns ending seemed perfect upon the movies original release, Top Gun: Maverick proves the movie needed its original alternate ending. Top Gun has a surprisingly complicated story for such a simple, straightforward cult classic. Mavericks need for speed drives the main plot, and his rivalry with Iceman provides most of the movies conflict. After Gooses death, Maverick is forced to contend with his own mortality and the final act of Top Gun sees him come to terms with his ego, embrace his talents, and finally learn to work as part of a team. When it comes to sheer volume of movie adaptations under their belt, it's tough to find a working author with more cinematic dominance than Stephen King. The horror master continues to pump out new books on a yearly basis, and Hollywood keeps pace with movie after movie based on his best, most popular, and -– after years of mining from the cream of the crop –- even just-okay-est works. As of publication time, there are currently about a dozen King adaptations reportedly in the works, including Lynne Ramsay's spin on "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon," Bryan Fuller's "Christine" remake, Osgood Perkins' "The Monkey," and the long-awaited "Salem's Lot" revamp from Gary Dauberman and Warner Bros.
At some point in the future, it seems likely that every King work ever written will get the big or small screen treatment. However, there's one book that's been absent from fan...

Gareth Edwards' 2016 nostalgia-fest "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" seems to have been made to address what some people call a plot hole in George Lucas' 1977 film "Star Wars." In Lucas' film, the young Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) pilots a light attack craft up to a miniature hole in the exterior of the moon-sized Death Star, drops a bomb in it, and causes the entire superstructure to blow up. It is a satisfying ending to an exhilarating sci-fi pulp adventure.
Starwoids, however, watched Lucas films enough times that they began to ask questions. Why, the query went, would the deathly efficient Empire build a moon-sized planet-killing machine with such a grievous design flaw? Why build something so large and overpowered if a single bomb from a light attack craft can destroy it entirely?
The makers of "Rogue One" took that criticism to heart, and backward-engineered a story to explain the flaw.

Tom Cruise and Jon Bon Jovi made uncredited, brief cameo appearances in the Young Guns franchise. Young Guns, followed by its sequel, played a crucial role in the revival of the Western genre in the 1990s. A third Young Guns film has been written and prepped, but its future is uncertain; if it happens, it should continue the tradition of hidden cameos.
On the surface, Tom Cruise and Jon Bon Jovi may not appear to have much in common, but they both share a unique Western trait in common. Without a doubt, the 1980s was the worst time for Westerns, thanks to the box-office failure of Heaven's Gate. This 1980 epic cost a staggering (for the time) $44 million to produce, and grossed less than a tenth of that back at the box office. In the aftermath, studios avoided Westerns like the plague, with Clint Eastwood's genre comeback Pale Rider being a rare exception.

It might not be immediately apparent from songs like “Sweet Child o’ Mine” or “November Rain,” but Slash’s roots are in the blues. “Everybody knows me as a rock & roll guitar player,” he tells Rolling Stone. “When I was a kid, though, I was exposed to great blues music from my family. 2 Guns successfully debuted as number one at the box office, ultimately bringing in $131 million worldwide. The film's stars, Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, are key draws and have a history of box office success. Although a sequel has not been formally announced, potential plans for a 2 Guns sequel could involve the comic book series, 3 Guns.
Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg united for a comic book action movie 11 years ago, and 2 Guns still holds sequel potential over a decade later. Released in 2013, 2 Guns is based on the 2007 comic book created by Steven Grant and Mateus Santolouco and published by Boom! Studios. The action movie starred Denzel Washington as special agent Bobby Trench and Mark Wahlberg as U.S. Navy Petty Officer Michael Stigman. It followed the undercover duo as they ran for their lives and attempted to take down a major drug cartel.

Ahead of Contra arriving in Vampire Survivors with Operation Guns, developer Poncle has released a new free 1.10 update for the roguelike entitled the “Laborratory” update. The update adds new achievements for those of you who love that sort of thing, as well as a new character, new stages and new weapons.
“Since the early days of Vs, people have been asking important questions like ‘Why is it called Santa Water?’,” reads the update. The Laborratory update aims to address that, introducing the Santa Ladonna character to Vampire Survivors, who starts out with nothing but a temporary cooldown bonus, and automatically triggers a Rosary when reaching critically low Hp.
For weapons, you have the new Santa Javelin, which evolves into Seraphic Cry. Starting out, the Santa Javelin aims for random enemies, can critically hit and turn the Duration stat into additional Amount for itself. In order to evolve it into the Seaphic Cry,...

There are not a lot of actors in Hollywood whose presence itself on-screen exudes badassery. Liam Neeson has carved a unique niche for himself in the film industry, where directors and producers look up to him for serious roles. From Schindler’s List to Batman Begins, the actor has carefully picked feathers for his cap that are a testament to his effervescent acting abilities.
However, he often goes offbeat and picks up projects that show off a different side to his demanding presence on the silver screen, like he is about to do in his upcoming The Naked Gun Reboot.

At the True/False Film Festival, packed with an array of nonfiction films from around the globe, there’s an overarching sense of connection and familiarity that emerges by the end of the four-day documentary showcase. True/False has held court in the charming college town of Columbia, Missouri as a haven for documentary film lovers for 21 years. IndieWire was particularly taken with the conversations that ensued throughout the festival — from Q&As to post-screening chit-chat — as we streamed out of the city’s historic theaters. Subtler conversations arose between the films themselves.
While the settings of the films were varied — Michigan to Mumbai, Armenia to Alphabet City — the best films touched on universal ideas: the connection between art and selfhood, changing political landscapes, and preparations for death and departure from this world. Here are some of the highlights of this year’s festival, all of which are still looking for U.

"The Godfather" trilogy is one of the most quotable series of films in cinema history. While the second and third installments of the series have their memorable lines, it's 1972's "The Godfather" which contains the bulk of the trilogy's most indelible dialogue. To illustrate the point: it seems everyone and their father has a Marlon Brando-as-Don Corleone impression in their back pocket (whether that impression is any good or not is another matter), and while the main reason for that is due to Brando's unique take on the character, it wouldn't be half as popular to do at parties and whatnot without the excellent lines from the film to back it up.
Most of this dialogue comes courtesy of "Godfather" author Mario Puzo, with co-screenwriter and director Francis Ford Coppola choosing to include the bulk of Puzo's prose in his screen adaptation. Although some of the dialogue in...

Masters of the Air is not a sequel to Band of Brothers but shares producers Spielberg and Hanks, making it a companion piece. The show chronicles the real-life actions of the 100th Bomb Group in World War II. Masters of the Air and Band of Brothers intersect in timeline and location, as both occur during WWII in Europe.

If nothing else, the Indiana Jones movies are great for watching Nazis get punched. Hitler's Germany makes for good, easy-to-despise villains, and the Third Reich's obsession with the occult dovetails easily into Indy's signature search for mystic artifacts. The franchise is always at its best with Nazis as the antagonists, a fact that the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny acknowledges.
But Raiders of the Lost Ark wasn't the first movie to feature Harrison Ford kicking Nazi butt. 1978's Force 10 from Navarone is regarded as a minor entry on his resume. But not only does it prominently feature the Third Reich as its villains, but a surprising number of actors went on to play Nazis in Indiana Jones movies. Having found a mother lode, Ford apparently didn't forget about them when Dr. Jones needed a few sparring partners.

But not only does it prominently feature the Third Reich as its villains, but a surprising number of actors went on to play Nazis in Indiana Jones movies. Having found a mother lode, Ford apparently didn't forget about them when Dr. Jones needed a few sparring partners.

There are numerous reasons why "John Wick" has become one of the most surprisingly successful action franchises of the last 20 years. From the very start, a high premium was placed on world-building, which lends depth and purpose to the hyperkinetic action. Casting was also key. Keanu Reeves had already proved himself in the fields of kung and gun-fu, but surrounding him with top-notch character actors like Ian McShane, Willem Dafoe, John Leguizamo, and the late, great Lance Reddick gave the first film a knowing, dignified air. When actors of this caliber are game for an independently produced action flick, you figure it's got a bit more on the ball than a dashed-off, Dtv affair.
The films have grown more ambitious with each chapter, culminating in the nearly three-hour-long "John Wick: Chapter 4." This installment is almost certainly Reeves' final go-round as Wick, so it goes hard. How hard? It's the...

Take a mesmerizing journey through the world of everyday objects in this hypnotizing animated short film. Grands Canons (not to be confused with the Grand Canyon) is a short film from French filmmaker / artist Alain Biet. Superimposed, condensed, multiplied, thousands of documentary drawings in successive series come to life on the screen, composing a veritable visual symphony of everyday objects. The film is made up of thousands upon thousands of hand-painted images of every day objects, from bulbs to phones to pipes to keys to tools to electronics to utensils to everything else you can think of. The name translates to Big Guns, which is a bit of an odd odd title for this. It originally premiered at film festivals back in 2018 and has been playing around for years before finally ending up online for everyone to enjoy. The perfect detailing in every single painting is just extraordinary; I'd like...

The new Marilyn Monroe movie Blonde has been controversial from the start, but it raises the question of why Blonde is rated Nc-17. Blonde stars Ana de Armas as Monroe, the "blonde bombshell" who became a pop culture icon and sex symbol before her untimely death in 1962. Director Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) adapted the ambitious novel of the same name by author Joyce Carol Oates, which took several liberties with the life of Monroe. Netflix's Blonde has been the subject of controversy since it was announced, with the streamer shifting release dates early on due to the graphic content of the film after it was completed in 2019.
Netflix brought in a new editor to help "curb the excesses of the movie" and prepare it for release according to Dominik, which he says actually ended up making the film better. Oates' 2000 Marilyn...
