Randy Rogers Band show their appreciation for a bunch of hell-raising fans in the new “Crazy People” video, which was released on Wednesday. The song appears on the Texas outfit’s latest album Hellbent, which dropped in April.
As a song, “Crazy People” chronicles the transformation of a kid from his buttoned-up conservative Christian upbringing to the beer-soaked stages he’d stand on as an adult. Along the way, he also figures out that even his folks may have had a wild streak at some point and therefore, so may many other folks.

Randy Rogers wasn’t built to take vacations. When he’s not on the road, the Texas Country vet is checking in with one of his many business partners for updates on the venues he owns or the management company he runs. Even now, on what should be a relaxing getaway with his family in Florida, Rogers is all too happy to squeeze in a phone call.
“I have a hard time turning things off. I kind of hate that about myself,” says Rogers, philosophically but with a touch of resignation.

A classic Reba McEntire ballad, a Guy Clark cover from his acolyte Steve Earle and a Spanglish love song from the Last Bandoleros make up our list of the best country songs to hear this week.
The Last Bandoleros, “Enamorado”
A bilingual love song, “Enamorado” mixes the ramped-up romance of Latin pop ballads with the hooks and harmonies of Southwestern roots music. YouTube singing star Alexander Stewart co-wrote the track and released his own version last summer, but “Enamorado” sounds like a Last Bandoleros original, with all four bandmates contributing...

Randy Rogers lets his imagination run wild while looking back on a straight-laced upbringing in “Crazy People,” the loping new single from his band’s upcoming LP Hellbent.
Though written by Brad Clawson, Jamie Paulin, and Will Weatherly, “Crazy People” hits close to home for Rogers, who had a devout upbringing in the small town of Cleburne, Texas, outside Fort Worth. Against a sawing fiddle, he juxtaposes childhood memories of the outside world with his mother’s admonitions to pay other peoples’ sinful ways no mind — but then stumbles across...

If you thought that the “Ghostbusters” controversy was going to die down ahead of its release next month, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news. Katie Dippold, who co-wrote the female-led reboot along with director Paul Feig, has pointed out the absurdity of pre-release criticism in a Telegraph interview: “There were nasty comments and before there was even a movie.”

Paul Feig’s upcoming “Ghostbusters” reboot has been at the center of much unwarranted controversy due to its female cast, but a much more radical change from the original comedy hit has taken place that actually deserves major backlash. Behold the new “Ghostbusters” theme, which was released earlier this morning.
Recorded by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott, the new version is a major departure from the iconic theme, which was originally recorded by Ray Parker Jr. and spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song earned an Oscar nomination as well.

Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone, but Dean Ambrose could be turning heel very, very soon.
Depending on what you read, plans to turn the Lunatic Fringe heel have been in the works for some time with countless online sources predicting that this Sunday’s Survivor Series event could be the tipping point.
**Potential spoiler alert**
Ambrose could turn as part of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament where it is predicted he will either face Roman Reigns in the final, or cost his former Shield brethren by interfering. However, the last few days has seen a shift in the betting market, so to speak, with PWInsider Elite claiming that there was a big push within the WWE creative team for Dean Ambrose to take the gold.
Either way, it looks like a heel Ambrose/face Reigns rivalry will be taking us up to the Royal Rumble and beyond.

One of the best things to come out of horror comics in years, Paul Tobin and Juan Ferreyra‘s Dark Horse series Colder has returned with its third and final arc, Toss The Bones—the first issue of which hits shops this week. The duo have kept outdoing themselves, and upon getting an advance glimpse of Toss The Bones #1, I couldn’t resist picking their brains once again about this gorgeous and exciting series.
Famous Monsters. So… Nimble Jack is back. What’s your favorite thing about writing or drawing him? I’ve heard people compare him to the Joker, but he seems even creepier to me. So congrats on that.
Paul Tobin. The Joker has had zero influence on Nimble Jack. The Joker never acts insane; he acts like someone with otherwise very focused goals who’s trying to act insane. When I write Nimble Jack, I try to...

The world always seems to be ending.
Whether it’s the Mayan calendar, the Rapture or Weapons of Mass Destruction, there’s always someone out there who is convinced that we’re all about to meet our maker and they never seem to tire of telling us all about it.
We call them Crazy People.
But, hey, it’s gotta happen sometime, and it certainly helps to be prepared when it does. You’re going to look pretty silly if zombies start shimmying up your drainpipes and you haven’t got a plan of action.
So, what can you do? Never mind trying to save the world from whatever is ending it, leave that to Tom Cruise and the like. Your main focus needs to be keeping yourself alive and healthy. No mean feat when you suddenly no longer have access to electricity, running water or microwave meals.

Stoking the fires of anticipation for P.T. Anderson’s Pynchon adaptation Inherent Vice, here’s the press conference from Saturday morning’s Nyff press screening. Rosemary’s Scabies: Leonetti Does His Best James Wan Impression
Sure to take its place on future lists of cinematographer’s unfortunate attempts at directing, John R. Leonetti’s Annabelle, a sort-of prequel to a subplot from 2013’s The Conjuring, is technically assured though lacking in anything innately original or insidiously creepy. Basically another bargain basement housewife-in-peril horror film, Gary Dauberman’s script plays like another cheap Rosemary’s Baby knock-off, attempting to prove that a Los Angeles apartment complex is just as spooky as anything you’ll encounter in Manhattan. With no time wasted on comic relief as it takes itself surprisingly seriously (you can forget about all those Marlon Wayans shenanigans with ‘Abigail’ from A Haunted House 2), Leonetti leaves most of the heavy lifting to our own familiarity with the basic material and our lowered expectations with carbon copy.

I Origins is an amazing, thought provoking sci-fi film that is one of the must watch movies of the year. I saw it at Sundance and it completely blew me away. It's such a beautiful film. The story follows "a molecular biologist whose study of the human eye points to evidence with far reaching implications about our scientific and spiritual beliefs."
The first clip is called "Disprove God," the second is "Crazy People," and the third is "Window to the Soul." All of them include philosophical discussions on what the story deals with. The movie is set to be released on July 18th, 2015. Make sure to go out and watch this movie, you won't be disappointed. It stars Michael Pitt, Brit Marling, Astrid Bergés-Frisbey, Steven Yeun, and Archie Panjabi.

All of these many parallels between projects speaks to a continuity between the relaunched franchise and its original incarnation that is likely to calm the nerves of many an anxious fan.
But it also may point to Abrams’ own Star Wars fandom — he has spoken on numerous occasions about the impact George Lucas’ original trilogy had on him — and bring a nostalgia to the new series that could overwhelm its forward momentum if left unchecked. (Disney chief Alan Horn, in an interview with THR‘s Stephen Galloway on April 2, had admitted problems with getting the script right and revealed that the film is already shooting.)

They don't make funny movies any more, right? Wrong. If you're looking for a laugh, then here are some you may have missed...
For this list, blame The Hangover Part III. It was whilst walking out of that film that I got into a chat with someone, who was bemoaning the lack of genuinely funny movie comedies. Certainly, big budget Hollywood comedies have no end of problems right now - with the occasional exception - but I couldn't help thinking of the many neglected gems that had gone through my DVD player over the past decade or so.
As such, I started to put this list together. It's inevitably subjective, as one person's comedy is another person's snore fest. But I've tried to dig out a mix of comedies from the past three decades that have either flown under the radar completely, or...

After the elementary school shooting in the Season 6 premiere, "Sons of Anarchy" wastes no time in bringing the world crashing down around the club. The second episode, "One One Six" kicks off with Arcadio (Dave Navarro) informing Nero (Jimmy Smits) that the gun used in the shooting was, in fact, one trafficked by Samcro.
The immediate plan is to get Arcadio and his girlfriend, the shooter's mother, out of town before the police can question them. It's a simple enough plan, and one the club has done before. Remember Cherry in Season 1? They whisked her away to Ireland for the rest of her days, far away from law enforcement questioning.
Unfortunately, things don't work out well for anyone connected to the club these days, so before they can get them out of town, the shooter's mother goes on the offensive, assuming the plan is to kill her so she won't talk.

When it comes to any medium that requires you put down words – be it plays, novels, or screenplays – dialogue is super hard to get right. When coming up with dialogue cues, you have to ensure that they sound like somebody might actually consider saying them in real life, but also definitely not that at all, because nobody talks the way that characters do in the movies – writing “realistic” dialogue is just an illusion, don’t you know?
And just because you’ve mastered it in one medium doesn’t mean you’ve mastered it in another: Stephen King writes absolutely brilliant dialogue in his novels, but when it comes to writing for the big screen or television, it all sounds about as corny as a bowl of breakfast cereal. It’s freakin’ hard. That’s why when writers like Quentin Tarantino or David Mamet come along with their beautifully-constructed, memorable and aurally-pleasing dialogue cues,...

The London-born Dominic Cooper has very quickly established himself as an indispensable character actor in both independent and big-budget films, with roles in "Captain America" and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" contrasted with those in "My Week with Marilyn" and "An Education."
He recently co-starred in "Dead Man Down" with Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace and Terrence Howard, as a cold-blooded gangster who nonetheless carries a sense of optimism about his life.
Cooper recently spoke to NextMovie about the fun in playing crazy guys, the mood of the set of a darker film, and goats in Uganda.
You kind of play a bad guy with a heart of gold in "Dead Man Down." How many times have you played a bad guy? Do you enjoy it?
I never want (my character) to be simply a "bad guy." I was very attracted to Darcy (my character) because he's so desperately trying to be something he's not.

Joker by: Anthony Misiano
Crazy people are unpredictable, tacticians are reserved, psychotic people enjoy killing, and clowns are crying on the inside. The Joker is all of these. His mind is so twisted that it loops between sane and insane and never stops. He is an ever-evolving face of chaos and fart jokes.

Las Vegas -- As Colombian rockero Juanes took home the best album award, Mexican brother-sister duo Jesse & Joy and their pop hit "Corre!" ran away with four awards at the 13th Annual Latin Grammys.
Hosted by actors Cristian De La Fuente and Lucero, Thursday night's event attracted stars from across the world and from dozens of Latin musical genres to the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Just like at a big family party, new faces shared the spotlight with older generations, and traditional styles mixed with electronica and Vegas dancers on stage.
Traditional Mexico met Las Vegas in a colorful number featuring Oaxaca native Lila Downs, Afro-Colombian singer Toto la Momposina and dancers in regional costumes, Carnival masques and skeleton makeup.
"What a great joy. Thank God, and all the fans," Juanes said as he dragged Dominican mereguero Juan Luis Guerra, who produced "MTV Unplugged," to the stage to accept the...

"Crazy people never look their age," says a character in Joseph Losey's Secret Ceremony, which screened at Fantastic Fest as part of the "House of Psychotic Women" retrospective sidebar. The same could be said for the older films playing in the festival, that is, 'Crazy films never look their age.' From Wake in Fright to Miami Connection to The Shining (played forwards and backwards, simultaneously), none of the "crazy" older films looked out of place among the new offerings. Hosted by Kier-La Janisse, author of a beautiful new book of the same name, published by Fab Press, the "House of Psychotic Women" series shone a spotlight on three films featuring strong female protagonists who, in Janisse's words, share a propensity for "a lot of shouting."...

This is…the cold open of The X Factor‘s Season 2 premiere?
Lest you found yourself confused, Simon Cowell & Co. quickly cut from the intergalactic-themed credits to a familiar image: A convoy of X Factor-branded 18-wheelers driving through the barren highways of the American heartland. On Monday Sept. 10, ABC’s General Hospital will move up an hour to the 2 p.m. timeslot — to accommodate the new Katie Couric show, Katie — and longtime star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) couldn’t be more excited for the future. “Ron and Frank just keep everything interesting. The way these guys know how to keep stories going from one to the next to the next is unreal,” says Benard, who’s about to celebrate 20 years on the show and whose mob boss has often dominated story lines. “And they’ve been able to make this show into an ensemble. The cinematic world of Robert Reinert is an overheated madhouse. His Nerven (Nerves, 1919) anticipates Caligari by a year, but feels as if the expressionist classic's angular, hand-painted house of cards has been exploded and scattered on the winds into the real, three-dimensional world. It also feels as if it's set in the "very nervous little community" that opens Jerry Lewis's The Ladies Man.
But maybe Reinert was the man for his time: there are reports of audience members being hospitalized, and one woman wandered into the street in her nightgown, screaming, "Now I am going to die! Now I am going to die!" Whether this was caused by seeing the film is unprovable, but she apparently thought it was, which is in itself suggestive of the film's power. One is reminded of the horror movie slogan proposed in the Dudley Moore comedy Crazy People: "This film will fuck you up for life!

That's the San Diego Comic-Con to most of its attendees. But there is another Comic-Con going on behind the scenes. This is the Sdcc experienced by the panelists, the stars and (oddly) the press. It's the Comic-Con I got to see this year. And it is kind of mind-blowing.

At only 21, Chris Colfer is already becoming a renaissance man.
Known primarily for his Golden Globe-winning turn as Kurt Hummel on Fox TV's "Glee," the actor surprised and impressed fans when it was announced more than a year ago that the screenplay he penned, "Struck By Lightning," was being made into a movie. Oh, and that he'd also be starring and executive producing the flick – which also stars Allison Janney, Christina Hendricks and "Modern Family"'s Sarah Hyland – about an unpopular high school senior who blackmails his classmates into participating in a project that'll better his odds of getting into college.
Fast forward to the present day and "Struck By Lightning" is making its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival. For his sake, Colfer jokes he's "wearing long sleeves" because he's "covered in welts" from pinching himself over his latest success.
What inspired you to keep pushing and get this movie made?...

Although there were a few skeptics out there who questioned the casting of Jennifer Lawrence in "The Hunger Games," most of that chatter died down when Lionsgate started releasing photos and clips of the Oscar nominee in action as Katniss Everdeen.
Now, as we inch closer and closer toward the release date of the highly anticipated film, Lawrence's castmates have been saying how she embodies the spirit of the beloved and critically acclaimed protagonist created by author Suzanne Collins.
Lawrence's co-star and real-life friend Josh Hutcherson recently told MTV News that despite being a very different person from Katniss, the actress' ability to quickly turn the character on and off was startling.

Democracy is a flawed concept. Here are 50 films that the IMDb voters would unfairly have you believe are worth no more than 5.9/10…
Six out of ten isn’t a very good score, really. It’s barely over half marks. 60 per cent. It’s alright, but it’s not great. You wouldn’t be proud of getting six out of ten on most kinds of tests, would you? So you might assume that any film that scores under six stars out of ten on the IMDb isn’t very good – possibly even terrible.
But that’s not always the case. Averages don’t tell the whole story; anything that’s potentially controversial or divisive will end up with a score that suggests most people weren’t that bothered about it, since high and low scores will be averaged – and IMDb users often exaggerate their scores anyway, giving a film one star...

Teen Mom 2's Chelsea Houska is one of the most scandal-free stars of the hit MTV show, so we were shocked when a source told Star magazine that Chelsea is allegedly struggling with a prescription pill problem! But Chelsea says the rumors aren't true: "This is entirely false & disgusting," she tweeted at HollywoodLife.com. It's doubtful that "Like Crazy" will rack up $100 million at the box office or garner heaps of Oscar nominations, but you can't buy the type of buzz its young star Felicity Jones is generating for it.
The 27-year-old Brit from Birmingham plays Anna, an English coed at a California college who falls truly, madly, deeply in love with Anton Yelchin's Jacob, but when she tests Customs and overstays her visa, the two must suffer a continent apart.
Jones, who won an acting prize at this year's Sundance, is drawing crazy amounts of praise for her heavily improvised role in the intimate drama that's like "Before Sunrise" for the long-distance set.
We talked to the "It Girl" at this year's Toronto Film Festival about her newfound status and more.
Did you and Anton spend a good amount of time getting to know each other before having to fall in love in front of the cameras?...

While it's a given that Rachel lands the lead in the school musical on this season of Glee, the male lead is going to be a story arc, with Finn, Kurt, and … someone else competing for the role, and with Kurt trying to convince everyone he can play a role like this. We’ve all known for years that the internet mostly exists for cats and cat-related purposes (cat lists, c-mail, Wikipawdia), but those corporate America Fat Cats (human ones with suits and ashy cigars, not adorable fat internet ones) have been slow on the uptick to acknowledge this phenomenon, constantly rolling out phone commercials that brag about their devices’ “4G Speed” and “other stuff that is not ability to display cats.” Finally, like Dudley Moore in the movie Crazy People, Sprint has decided to Tell It Like It Is. Phone are for internet, which is for cats: For the record, I do acknowledge that this ad was likely made to bait bloggers into reposting it, but if Sprint had the double-foresight to admit that the internet is cats and that bloggers will enjoy the admission that the internet is cats, then they literally just won 7 Webbys.

Rating: PG-13
Release Date: May 20, 2011
Trailer Score: 5/10
My Thoughts: The story is promisingly weird, a depressed man finds a new lease on life by interacting with the world through a hand puppet. It sounds like a Charlie Kaufman script. Jodie Foster’s directing and acting, which sounds like an odd fit, but could work. But it stars Mel Gibson, and that gives me pause. I still think he’s a massive tool after all the tabloid incidents and don’t want to give my money to a project he’s involved in. Beyond my own prejudice, it looks kind of… sad. I shouldn’t be surprised, Gibson’s character is supposed to be depressed after all. But the premise sounds more lighthearted and fun than what I’m seeing in this trailer. I expected Gibson to...

No matter how much an expert one might be on films and film history, there will always be a few subjects or performers that you just aren't going to know as much about. Mind you, I don't consider myself an expert - my editors and colleagues regularly outclass me in knowledge and insight - but I have spent a couple of decades watching as many movies as I can get my hands on. But one of the performers I haven't investigated with much effort is Dudley Moore, who historically speaking was a fairly huge comedy star of the late 1970s and '80s before succumbing to the degenerative brain disorder progressive supranuclear palsy in 2002.

The Jan. 1, 2011 launch of Own, the Oprah Winfrey Network, will be a bittersweet event for some of us. You see, some people have never known a time without "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and the debut of Own signals the final stretch of the daily talk show that waits on our DVR for us every day until we get home from work.
The prospect of Oprah going off the air - even to launch a network - is a little bit terrifying. It's like trying to imagine a world without running water or color television or Starbucks or Tom Cruise.
So, like many of you, we'll be glued to the television on Day One of Own. But we've got some rather high demands. If Own is going to fill the cavernous void that "The Oprah Winfrey Show's" cancelation is sure to leave in our hearts, there are some things we'll need Own to provide.

Someone cue up the Silver Shamrock TV spot because it's only 8 more days till Halloween....Halloween....Halloween! Enough of the Halloween 3 flashbacks, now onto the actual holiday itself and the big questions that come with it! How many children are going to die this year because of Trick or Treating. God that sounds awfully blunt. Can we type that?...
Horrorbid's Top 5 Halloween Myths Busted!
I guess we can type it but it doesn't seem right does it? Why should we even have to worry about kids on Halloween. One of, if not the greatest days of the year? Unfortunately because of myths and rumors each year less and less kids get a chance to experience the wonders of going house to house, ringing doorbells and asking for candy. Because of safety issues more communities than ever are having Halloween at high school gyms and convention halls. Is this really necessary?...

There's a bunch of minor news about horror flicks floating around, and since I am lazy as fuck, let's just compile it all here. Complaining gets you a either a hatchet in the mouth or a lamprey in the crotch. Your worst enemy gets to choose.
First, from Bloody Disgusting, the poster for Hatchet II, the sequel to the campy but quite enjoyable Hatchet, directed once again by Adam Green. Here's hoping for a bigger role for Tony Todd this time around.
Next, a clip from Insidious, directed by James Wan (Saw). Wan directed the only Saw film I actually enjoyed (the first one), so I'm a bit interested in this. Plus, it's got Patrick Wilson. Who doesn't love Patrick Wilson? Crazy people, that's who. Here's the synopsis: A family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further. Weird. And the out-of-context footage just makes it weirder.
