At this point in the evolution of popular media, it's a cliché to say that everyone's run out of ideas. You need only take a look at a recent year-end box office list to see just how many major properties are getting recycled all the time, rebooted and remade and turned into something new simply because it has built-in name recognition for audiences.
That kind of thing has, in fact, been going on for quite a while. Remakes have been happening since the earliest decades of film history, but in the 1980s and 1990s especially, many breakout movies were immediately monetized as much as possible, adapted into toy lines and breakfast cereals and, yes, Saturday morning cartoons. Some of those cartoons caught on, becoming bona fide smashes in their own right -- for example, it can be jarring to watch the original "Beetlejuice" movie and realize that Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz were not,...

Bill & Ted star Alex Winter has shared that a fourth installment in the beloved science fiction comedy franchise is in early development.
During an interview on The Sarah O'Connell Show (via ComicBook.com), Winter revealed that they have been "tinkering with a fourth movie idea that all of us like, and the guys are going to write, so we'll see." He added, "It takes us time to get these things going, and we never want to do them unless they're great." While Winter doesn't disclose who "the guys" writing the screenplay are, he is most likely referring to Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the screenwriting duo who wrote the previous three films.

Browsing through the Hanna-Barbera catalog of animated series, one will find numerous timeless classics, like Johnny Quest, Wacky Racers, The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, etc. And within the expansive line-ups of cartoons created by the company, many have become lost to time or mostly forgotten; whether it be The Snorks or Jabberjaw, not all of them hold the same iconic status. However, within the forgotten catalog that hosts 249 stand-alone series, a few gems deserve to be revisited, or better yet — remade.
Pirates of the Dark Water, running for three seasons from 1991-92, is one such title. Set on the alien world of Mer, the fantasy/adventure cartoon series follows Ren, who is preordained to save the world from destruction. Ren and his companion swashbucklers face various challenges, including constant clashes with the villainous pirate lord Bloth. It is an exciting premise for a cartoon series that boasts a longer plot than many cartoons at the time,...

If you’ve spent time on social media or reading movie-news websites or following the career of Keanu Reeves, then you might be aware that right now, as we speak, there is a third Bill and Ted movie on the way, a movie that brings back Alex Winter and Reeves himself as the air-guitar-shredding, continuously-partying, time-traveling, death-cheating, history-weaving titular legends of the late 80s and early 90s, Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan… Wild Stallions. Yup, Bill and Ted are coming back, and there are a lot of us fans who are excited about what that means. It could be an absolute blast.

Today brings with it some most excellent news. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is making its way to 4K for the first time ever. The late 80s time-traveling classic has been remastered in Ultra HD and is heading our way this summer. To go along with the announcement, a brand new trailer and poster have been released.
The trailer is very much a reminder of the classic we all know and love, with Ted 'Theodore' Logan and Bill S. Preston Esquire traversing time so that they can get an A on their history exam. As for the poster, it prominently features Alex Winter's Bill and Keanu Reeves' Ted, along with many of the historical figures they encounter on their journey. The new poster was done by artist Carlos Dattoli and was created specifically for the upcoming 4K release.

The Bill & Ted fan community haven't had it easy over the past couple of decades. The only real content they've gotten to chew on since Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey left theaters in 1991 was the short-lived cartoon series Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures and a disastrous live-action Fox show that aired seven episodes in the summer of 1992 before being forever banished from the memory banks of every single person on the planet.
