Still, it's easy to only see Momoa as an action star and nothing else. He is capable of drama, but lately has been full-bore into comedy. He's good at it. Opposite Jack Black in Minecraft, Momoa is the kind of goof that is needed for the role.

Andy Samberg has always been the goof we needed in most of his comedic roles, but the trick is, like Adam Sandler, he is smarter than he might seem. That translates on the screen even when we laugh at the silly things he might do.

Jason Momoa and Andy Samberg are making a movie for Netflix. The streamer has emerged victorious from a recent bidding war for an untitled action comedy starring the two fan-favorite actors.

According to Deadline, multiple studios and streamers were trying to land the untitled two-hander action comedy, with Netflix ultimately having the best offer. While plot details remain heavily under wraps, it has been divulged that the movie will be set in Momoa's native Hawaii. Samberg’s Party Over Here and Momoa’s On The Roam will produce the movie, which marks the first time the actors have worked together. The script will be written by Emmy-nominated Saturday Night Live alums Rob Klein and John Solomon. No director is attached at this time.

Plus, it has Jay Roach at the helm, a filmmaker who knows how to craft a big studio comedy, not to mention a script from Poor Things and The Favourite writer Tony McNamara. Exclusive: Oscar and Emmy winner Olivia Colman is set to star in and executive produce a drama created, executive produced and showrun by The Affair co-creator Sarah Treem, sources tell Deadline. The project, which is in development at FX, is inspired by the Danish format Ulven Kommer (Cry Wolf), I hear.

The untitled one-hour is described as a sweeping family drama that is both a mystery and thriller. Further details are being kept under wraps. Benedict Cumberbatch is an immensely talented actor who excels in a variety of roles, and as a result, he has plenty of upcoming movies currently in the works. Cumberbatch has been acting in films and TV since 2002, when he appeared in the TV movie, Fields of Gold. However, he had already been appearing in theatrical productions around the UK for several years prior.
