'Weird Al' Yankovic in Télé ringards (1989)

FAQ

Télé ringards

FAQ

The screenplay for the film was written by 'Weird Al' Yankovic (who also appears as an actor) and his manager Jay Levey.

The title clearly refers to ultra high frequency television broadcasting and the small, local, often rerun-oriented programs such stations often broadcast.

The film begins with a parody version of Indiana Jones in the 1981 film, 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. After George Newman (played by 'Weird Al' Yankovic) steals an Oscar statue, he runs from a giant rock, which crushes him while attempting to hide in the street. In the next scene, George is caught daydreaming again by his friend Bob (played by David Bowe) at Burger World, where he and Bob eventually get fired.

Acording to the Ask Al section of weirdal.com, Al doesn't remember.
