Studio Ghibli's renowned dark fantasy epic, Princess Mononoke, will soon have its 4K theatrical debut in North America.

As detailed on Gkids' official site and its X (formerly Twitter) page, an "all-new 4K restoration" of the Princess Mononoke anime movie will be screened at select IMAX theaters in the U.S. and Canada starting March 26. This event will feature both the original Japanese version (with subtitles) and the Miramax-produced English dub. The special 4K remaster of the film is being released to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Studio Ghibli, which first opened its doors in 1985. According to the site, a total of 5,849 people participated, each one ranking their personal favorite Ghibli flicks for the overall data pool. Japanese publisher Fukuinkan Shoten has revealed a special treat to mark the 40th anniversary of the novel Kiki’s Delivery Service, which was adapted into one of Miyazaki’s and Ghibli’s best and most famous anime films.

Tatsuya Endo, the talented creator behind Spy×Family, has illustrated a new cover for the bunko paperback edition of the first Kiki’s novel. This special cover will be available for a limited time, starting from February 3.

Studio Ghibli fans can now show their appreciation for some of their favorite anime films by wearing apparel featuring imagery of the iconic Ghibli mascot Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service's Jiji. The studio's official online store, Donguri Sora, has released some of its softest and most comfortable merchandise to date, perfect for the fall weather.

New cardigans inspired by My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service are set to make repeat viewings of these classics even more comfy in the cooler season. Made from a rayon/cotton blend, these cardigans are stylish, warm and perfect for any number of occasions besides just movie night. Both limited-edition items are free-size and teased as "a great addition to your everyday outfit, or to wear at work or school." The two clothing designs join Donguri Sora's previous cardigan releases for the same two movies, these seen with alternative colors, logo styles and artwork.

Gkids' annual "Ghibli Fest" event has given countless Hayao Miyazaki fans a chance to revisit many of the critically acclaimed director's animated works. Next month, the year-long celebration will conclude with showings of Miyazaki's iconic family film, 1988's My Neighbor Totoro.

On X (formerly Twitter), Gkids Films -- the North American distributor for Studio Ghibli's films -- confirmed that My Neighbor Totoro will be returning to U.S. theaters on Dec. 7-11. As with previous Ghibli Fest features, the film will be screened at various times in both its original Japanese language track (with English subtitles) and the official English dub starring Dakota Fanning (Satsuki Kusakbae) and Elle Fanning (Mei Kusakabe). Two popular products inspired by two of Studio Ghibli's most iconic fantasy films recently returned to the company's official online store. Ghibli fans once again have a chance to purchase Donguri Sora's exclusive Howl's Moving Castle and Kiki's Delivery Service-themed flower vases.

The vases are part of the "Donguri Closet" collection, which primarily features clothing and home decor items inspired by Studio Ghibli's expansive cast of anime heroines. Accordingly, both products depict memorable scenes starring Kiki and Sophie Hatter. Howl's "Dreamlike Time" flower vase is adorned with an illustration of Sophie's first encounter with the handsome wizard, Howl. Kiki's "Tonight's Departure" vase similarly pays tribute to the sequence where Kiki leaves her childhood home and embarks on her coming-of-age journey. Kiki's Delivery Service is a 1989 anime film by Studio Ghibli. In this classic Ghibli film, a young witch named Kiki leaves home for the first time, accompanied by her black cat Jiji. Together, the two go to the seaside town of Koriko and establish Kiki's job as a witch, beginning Kiki's namesake delivery service.

The movie wouldn't be complete without Jiji's sass and playfulness. However, halfway throughout the movie, Kiki loses her magic and Jiji can no longer speak the human language.
