From Streams to Screams: 36 Bloodthirsty Vampire & Werewolf Movies You Can Stream This Halloween Season
Happy October, readers! I mean, I know it technically isn’t October quite yet, but let’s be honest: we’re all ready for Halloween, so it might as well be October already. One of my favorite things about this time of year is that it gives me a good excuse to watch as many horror movies as I can over the next 31 days.

These days, we have a variety of options to watch genre movies beyond our own home media collections, so over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting a series of themed streaming lists that should undoubtedly scratch any sort of cinematic itch you might be having this Halloween. To get things started, here’s a look at all the vampire and werewolf-themed films you can find on various streaming platforms out there—some are free services (Vudu and Tubi TV), and some are paid services,...

Three Howling Movies Coming to One Blu-ray
I know what you're thinking ... "Man I wish Howling III: The Marsupials, Howling V: The Rebirth, and Howling VI: The Freaks were available on Blu-ray." Okay, so maybe not, but your chance to get three nearly unrelated and for the most part terrible werewolf films in high definition is just around the corner!

High Def Digest reports that Timeless Media Group has announced The Howling Trilogy is heading for a Blu-ray release on October 19th.

As stated the release contains Howling III: The Marsupials, Howling V: The Rebirth, and Howling VI: The Freaks all on a single heavily compressed disc. Specs and supplements haven't been confirmed yet, but suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $16.98.

You know you want it! I blame Troll 2.

Before the Oscars, They Belonged to Us, Part 2
Disclaimer: This article may contain sarcasm; irony and “LOLs” proceed with caution.

Our second stab at the Oscars contains make-up effects and score (read part 1 here). The make-up effects, followed by the visual effects and technical awards, remain my favorite parts of the show; here you got to see your heroes: Rick Baker, Howard Berger, Chris Walas or Rob Bottin in the audience. Even the great Stan Winston could have been out there, back in the day. Though best known for his “visual effects” wins—he brought home an Oscar for best make-up in 1991 for Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Here genre fans can rejoice, Greg Cannom brought home the gold, again, for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Cannom, a genre elder, worked alongside (just to name a few) Fincher, Coppola, Landis, Dante, Blatty, and Cohen creating all sorts of character and creature make-ups.

This part of the list also...
