Plot

The film depicts daily life in an Senegalian village. The people sleep, eat, make love, pray for rain, et cetera, while civilization, by way of timber trucks and tree fellers, is slowly encroaching.

Otar Iosseliani Is less surreal than usual, and this time weaves his magic camera through the entrails of a small Senegalese village. The day to day life, it's squabbles, rituals, personalities and work, is slowly but surely encroached upon by Industry...far more Savage' than the natural lifestyle that preceded it. One man's quest to find his estranged wife and children leads us and him into Urban hell. A squallid new Africa where money is at the heart of the game.
