Riff Raff: Jennifer Coolidge, Brian Cox, Dustin Hoffman, and Gabrielle Union board Dito Montiel crime comedy
Image
Two of the hottest tickets in Hollywood, Jennifer Coolidge and Brian Cox (Succession), are about to be joined by Dustin Hoffman and Gabrielle Union for the crime comedy Riff Raff. Dito Montiel directs from a script by John Pollono (Stronger).

The star-studded project revolves around the ordinary life of a former criminal whose world turns upside down when his old family shows up for a long-awaited reckoning. With cameras ready to roll in September, Riff Raff heads to the Cannes market this week for international sales, with Capstone organizing domestic rights with CAA Media Finance and WME Independent. Noah Rothman produces through Canopy Partners, with Marc Goldberg and Sarah Gabriel producing via Signature Films.

“We are thrilled to partner with the producers and Dito on this project; we’ve loved it ever since we’ve read it. It embodies the type of crime comedies we grew up with – witty and entertaining.

Are ‘Say Anything’ Lovebirds Lloyd Dobler and Diane Court Still Together?
Sometime during the spring of my freshman year at college, a friend of mine decided to break out a big romantic gesture for his girlfriend of just a few weeks – they weren’t celebrating anything special, no anniversary or holiday to peg it to, he just wanted to do something – and he decided to recreate the infamous boombox scene from Say Anything. It went over like gangbusters. He drove his truck to the back of her dorm, stood in the bed of it, and blasted Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” for everyone to hear. I’m certain that was part of the charm – his girlfriend heard it, the rest of her dorm heard it, people walking to class heard it. (She was, to put it delicately, a bit of a show-off.) Most importantly, everyone seemed to get it. Cameron Crowe’s film was nearly fifteen years old when this particularly over-the-top expression of love occurred, and...

Actors wanted for TV Pilot
Casting Paid Lead Roles for TV Pilot Impertinence, directed by Najan Ward

Rates: £100 per Day

Location: London

Dates: Autumn/Winter

Impertinence takes a dark and subtly humorous look at multiculturalism in Britain whilst pushing the boundaries of political correctness. Hard-hitting performances from this character driven story, shatters the ideology of modern day Britain, and delves into the underbelly of our collective consciousness. Unearthing many surprises and unexpected realities. This prime-time production is not for the faint-hearted or the easily offended.

Several stories interweave during a heat wave in London involving a collection of interrelated characters. An illiterate builder helplessly copes against the emotional abuse from his fiancée and seeks solace from a Vicar who is dealing with his own internal conflicts, and external pressures to modernise his church. A foreign shop assistant faces language barriers and has no family to turn to, all alone and in London she battles to escape her dark past.

2005 Dreamcast Shmup 'Under Defeat' Coming to the PS3 With an HD Remake
Publisher Rising Star Games invites us all to travel back to the halcyon days of 2005 for this indie-developed shooter for Sega's defunct system.

This Naomi-engine shooter was created by Japanese developer G.rev for arcades back in '05 and one year later made the leap to consoles on the Dreamcast. Now there are a lot of quirks to this particular title: one, well, it was a Dreamcast game in 2006; two, its a top-down helicopter shooter that puts you in the cockpit of a chopper piloted by what's essentially a Nazi (the German members of the game's "Empire" against the nefarious members of the English-speaking "Union."

So there's that.

The HD remake is coming to the PS3 this fall with a new 16:9 presentation, improved artwork, textures, shading, and, you know, bad German dudes. (Along with the comedy manga Hetalia: Axis Powers, Japan's been continuing to try to cute up WWII...

Free Max Payne 3 Dlc, Disorganized Crime, Coming August 28
The newest batch of Max Payne 3 Dlc, Disorganized Crime, is coming next Tuesday, Aug. 28th. Best of all, it’s free.

The pack includes the Hoboken Rooftops multiplayer map, letting players wreak havoc over Max’s New Jersey apartment complex. There’s also new modifiers for score attack mode, allowing for Headshot Modifiers, more aggressive enemy AI, and a headshots-only contest. Finally, there’s “Noir Mode”, allowing you to play the entirety of Max Payne 3‘s single-player story in film noir-inspired black and white (though this could also be easily done by changing your TV’s color settings).

There’s been a noticeable rising trend in games coming out with free Dlc to support their multiplayer offerings, such as the recent Dlc for Mass Effect 3 and the free co-op Dlc that was released for Spec Ops: The Line yesterday. I hope this is a trend that continues.

Disorganized Crime hits PC,...

'Max Payne 3' Receives a Rockstar Pass, Co-Op
Seven Dlc packs are planned over the next year, and Rockstar's bundling it together in a pass for a discount.

Selling for $24.99 on Psn and 2400 Ms Points on Xbla, Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass will include a mix of maps and multiplayer modes, including co-op with this summer's release of the "New York Minute Co-Op" pack. How will Bullet Time work with two players? Well, the multiplayer in F.E.A.R. might offer some clues here, in that case allowing you to slow down time and take out foes online. Alternately, maybe this will be a shared Bullet Time meter or something along those lines, requiring you and your online partner to be judicious in the use of the stylish killing technique.

The first map pack will be the "Local Justice Map Pack" coming in June. Here's how Rockstar describes the release:

Rockstar Games Reveals $90 Price Tag for Full Content on Max Payne 3
Just fifteen days before the release of Max Payne 3, Rockstar Games has announced seven downloadable content packs that will be released throughout the year.

Instead of buying each Dlc pack separately, gamers can buy the Rockstar Pass for 2400 Microsoft Points or $29.99 on Psn. This effectively raises the total price of Max Payne 3 to $90 before its actual release. Typically, game companies plan for Dlc but keep the news regarding the quantity and cost a secret until after the game is released. Rockstar has decided to jump the gun and reveal its full hand to gamers, letting everyone know that if they want complete access to Max Payne 3′s content roster for 2012, they will have to pay $90 up front (which includes the Rockstar Pass) or pay over $100 by buying each content pack separately.

Here’s the list of multiplayer packs announced for 2012.

June 2012

Summer 2012
